Robbie Weir: Leyton Orient captain ruled out for rest of season
Leyton Orient captain Robbie Weir has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
The 28-year-old was stretchered off in Monday's 4-0 defeat at Exeter City and scans have revealed he suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage.
Midfielder Weir joined the League Two O's from Burton Albion in June and has made 21 appearances this season.
"It is a massive blow to see Robbie's season come to an end in such fashion," Orient manager Andy Edwards said.
"He is great captain to this club and he will be a big loss for us. We still also have Liam Kelly on the sidelines and it leaves us short of options in the centre of midfield."
