Second-bottom Ayr United moved level with Dumbarton and four points clear of St Mirren with victory over the Sons in the Scottish Championship.

Robert Thomson's shot put Dumbarton ahead, but Farid El Alagui levelled in first-half stoppage time, netting after his header had hit the bar.

El Alagui set up Robbie Crawford to put Ayr in front in the second period.

And the visitors finished with 10 men, Garry Fleming dismissed for violent conduct.
