Jersey's men beaten by Panjab FA, women lose at Sheffield United
Jersey's men suffered a 2-0 loss to Panjab in a pre-Muratti friendly at Springfield.
Amar Purewal and Amarvir Sandhu netted the first-half goals, as Jersey continue preparations for the upcoming match with rivals Guernsey.
Craig Russell went closest for the island side but his header from a Jack Boyle cross was tipped onto the post.
Panjab FA was set up in 2014 to represent the world's Punjabi community.
"It was a really slow start and we didn't deal with the movement," said midfielder Cav Miley, who was captaining Jersey from the start for the first time.
"We showed great character in the second half, it was a lot more enjoyable and we had a lot more of the ball.
"We started a bit flat today, I'm disappointed with the loss but after the second-half performance I'll take some positively out of the game."
Meanwhile Jersey's women were beaten 2-1 by Sheffield United Ladies at Bramall Lane, as the islanders gear up for this summer's Island Games.
Player-manager Jodie Botterill's second-half free-kick, struck low from the edge of the box, cancelled out Rachel Ruddach's opener for the home side.
But defender Natalie Frogatt netted late on to give the Blades victory.
Jersey's women are the reigning Island Games gold medallists, having won the title as hosts in 2015.
Gotland stages the 2017 event from 24-30 June.
