Chester finished 19th in the National League this season with 52 points, two points and two places above the relegation zone.

Academy graduate Matty Waters has signed a two-year deal with Chester.

The 19-year-old showed glimpses of his potential when he was promoted to the first team last summer.

He made 16 appearances for the National League side, scoring one goal - a sublime lob against Hyde in the Cheshire Senior Cup in January.

Waters is the second player to pen a new deal with Chester this week, after goalkeeper Alex Lynch signed up for next season on Monday.
