Ebbsfleet United 0-1 Chester

Chester boosted their National League survival hopes with a much-needed victory at Ebbsfleet.

Harry White's first goal for the club came in the 21st minute and was enough for Chester to take three points from their long trip to Kent.

White managed to get on the end of James Akintunde's through ball to slot past the stranded goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore.

Ebbsfleet dominated possession, creating a string of chances. Danny Kedwell had the best of them but, after Sam Hornby pushed clear his close-range header, he then poked wide with the City keeper beaten.

Hornby then made his best save of the match in the 88th minute, clawing away Kedwell's header with one hand.

Moments later, Ebbsfleet's frustration was completed when Bradley Bubb left a leg in late on Andy Halls and was shown a red card.

Chester's first win in four National League games lifts them to within six points of 20th-placed Barrow, ahead of Tuesday's trip to Fylde - and with two games in hand.
