Getting wild about outdoor swimming

The number of people taking the outdoor plunge in our lidos, rivers and lochs has exploded over the past few years.

Victorians and Edwardians were keen wild water swimmers and, in the early 1900s, there were outdoor swimming clubs all over the UK.

However, the growth of a health and safety culture, pollution and - above all - the introduction of indoor heated pools led to an end of this trend.

BBC Get Inspired reporter Marion MacNeil went to find out why people are becoming wild about outdoor swimming again.
