Walker Cup a north west 'spectacle'

Great Britain and Ireland captain Nigel Edwards says the Walker Cup has been a 'great spectacle' for the north west after watching his side beat the USA at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

The hosts regained the amateur title with a 16½-9½ win, securing victory with six matches to go and finishing with their best-ever points tally.

The tournament will return to the north west in four years when Royal Liverpool hosts in 2019.
