Torvill & Dean do rhythmic gymnastics

Figure skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have been brought in to help Britain's rhythmic gymnastics team.

The duo, who famously won gold at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, believe they can help the team's seven teenagers to win over the sport's judges and improve their marks.

Britain has very little history in rhythmic gymnastics, and the GB team must hit a score of 45.233 at their Olympic test event, in January, to prove they deserve a place at the Games.

If they reach that score, the British Olympic Association - for whom Torvill and Dean act as ambassadors, including their role with the rhythmic gymnasts - will grant them a place at London 2012.
