Lisnagarvey beat YMCA to win Irish League title

Ireland star Timmy Cockram scored twice as Lisnagarvey beat YMCA 3-1 in Sunday's Irish Hockey League final.

After a goal-less first half, Garvey broke the deadlock with a Cockram drag flick in the 46th minute and Stephen Arbuthnot then made it 2-0.

YMCA's Jamie Tobin showed a touch of class when a super build-up in midfield set him free and he coolly got halved the deficit.

Lisnagarvey sealed victory when Cockram dragged home for 3-1.

Railway Union were crowned women's champions after a 1-0 win over Loreto.
