Ireland occupy an all-time high world ranking of ninth spot following their recent World League 2 win in Belfast.

The Irish have risen above Spain in the standings after their undefeated tournament that saw Davy Harte and Johnny McKee pick up individual awards.

Next up for Ireland are the World League semi-finals in Johannesburg in July, where a top eight place would ensure a place at the 2018 World Cup.

Among their opponents from 8-23 July will be Australia and Belgium.

Reigning Hockey World Cup, World League and Champions Trophy winners Australia, Olympic silver medallists Belgium, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, hosts South Africa, Japan, France and Egypt will all take part in this summer's tournament.

Ireland beat France in a penalty shoot-out to triumph in World League 2.
