Victories over Edinburgh and Braehead at the weekend have kept Nottingham Panthers in touch with Elite League leaders Belfast Giants.

Panthers struggled to a 7-3 success over Edinburgh on Saturday, before Sunday's 3-0 shutout of Braehead Clan.

Netminder Craig Kowalski told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We had to bounce back after Saturday's lacklustre performance against Edinburgh.

"When we play well, we can be the best team in the league."

Panthers move up to third in the table, level on points with second-placed Sheffield Steelers, and three points behind the Giants.

Robert Lachowicz, Gui Lepine, Matthew Myers, David-Alexandre Beauregard, David Clarke, Brandon Benedict and Corey Neilson all scored in Saturday's defeat of Edinburgh, as Panthers had to twice come from behind.

Meanwhile, Scott Champagne, Steve Lee and Lachowicz were on target on Sunday.
