Nottingham Panthers closed the gap on leaders Belfast with a 4-3 overtime victory in Cardiff.

Phil Hill and Scott Matzka gave the hosts a two-goal lead, before Panthers hit back through Danny Meyers, Corey Neilson and Jeff Heerema.

Panthers had a 3-2 lead at the end of the first period, while Ben Davies netted the only goal of the second session for the Devils.

Matt Francis was Nottingham's hero scoring 31 seconds into overtime.

Panthers, who close the gap on Belfast to three points, are next in action on Sunday when they host Dundee Stars at the National Ice Centre.
