Belfast Giants are beaten by the Sheffield Steelers in sudden death overtime in the play-off final in Nottingham.

Elite League champions Belfast Giants suffer a second defeat in a final in 12 days as they are edged out by Sheffield Steelers in the play-off decider in Nottingham.

The Giants led twice in Sunday's game but Sheffield levelled on both occasions and Drew Fata's snap-shot two minutes into the extra period won it for the Steelers.

Belfast player Colin Shields felt the better team had lost Sunday's game but Giants coach Paul Adey said his squad could still look back on a "fantastic season" despite their recent finals disappointments.
