Michael Forney's Belfast Giants fell to a disappointing home defeat

The Giants blew a two-goal lead before falling to a shoot-out defeat by Dundee Stars in Sunday's Challenge Cup match.

The teams are now tied on nine points in Group A, two behind the leaders, Braehead Clan.

The hosts led 2-0 after the first period at the SSE Arena thanks to goals by Mike Radja and coach Derrick Walser.

Bobby Chaumont pulled a goal back for Dundee in the second period with Justin Faryna netting early in the third to tie the contest at 2-2.

There were no goals in overtime and Dundee took the two points by winning the penalty shoot-out 2-1.

The Giants are in Cup action again next weekend when they have two matches against Fife Flyers.
