Five hours to go to kick off and the crowds are already massing here outside Stade de France. Lots of Romania fans are meeting up by the metro stop, which is a mass of yellow and red. The French fans are, understandably, in a combination of red, white and blue - and quite a few of them are wearing chicken hats.

Everyone I spoke to seemed confident of starting Euro 2016 with a win. Melanie (above) and her friends are going for a big France win, while Ghita Alin (below) says 2-1 Romania.

Experts predict England will reach Euro final

BBC Radio 5 Live

European football experts believe England will excel in France.

European football experts Julien Laurens and Rafa Honigstein believe England will excel at Euro 2016.

French journalist Laurens says Roy Hodgson’s team will "reach the final against France", with Honigstein, who specialises in German football, adding "no one will want to play this England side".

However Spanish expert Guillem Balague finds England harder to read, suggesting he does not "have a clue" how they will fare at the finals.

In 11 appearances at Wimbledon, two-time Grand Slam champion Wawrinka has never reached the semi-finals, losing in the last eight in 2014 and 2015.

Krajicek, now 44, won the men's singles title there in 1996, becoming the first Dutch player to do so. He will join 31-year-old Wawrinka for the next four weeks.

At times we kill the dish, at times we add a delicious aroma... We are bitter, digesting us is hard, but we do have the taste, man. Especially when our appetizers clash with the Spanish tapas, a yummy spread table will definitely be set."

Leicester's £20m Deeney bid rejected

There have been plenty of rumours in the last few days regarding Premier League champions Leicester City bidding for Watford striker Troy Deeney.

As I understand it Watford have turned down an official offer of around £20m for the striker but I’m told he’s not for sale. Deeney is a huge part of Watford not just for his goals, assists and work-rate but also for his leadership and character. He’s also a massive fans favourite.

A couple who style themselves the 'Panini Cheapskates' have started work on a new football sticker album. No, seriously.

Alex and Sian Pratchett, from Oxford, created a World Cup Panini album in 2014 to avoid spending hundreds of pounds on stickers in shops. They now hope to draw 800 stickers for Euro 2016 before the final on 10 July.

Mr Pratchett said they were raising money for charities to give them "the motivation to keep churning out our dishevelled little men".

More from Northern Ireland's Gareth McAuley:

"We are ready for the challenge of keeping them out - but we will want to test the Polish defence as well.

"We want to do well at this tournament, not just make up the numbers.

"There is a real hunger. We know we can be tough to beat, but we have to get the balance right.

"We are ready to go. There is a little bit of tension building which is a nice feeling.

"Tomorrow it will really start to kick in as we travel to Nice."

McAuley wary of Lewandowski

Northern Ireland defender Gareth McAuley says Michael O’Neill’s Euro 2016 outsiders are ready to take on Europe’s top striker Robert Lewandowski on Sunday.

The Bayern Munich forward is seen as Poland’s main threat when the sides meet in Group C in Nice.

McAuley believes most people expect Poland to win on Sunday, despite being two places below Northern Ireland in the Fifa rankings at 27th.

The West Brom man said they are looking forward to facing the deadly Lewandowski.

"He is a top player for Poland, but they have other threats too," said 36-year-old McAuley, whose seven international goals have all come in competitive matches.

"Scoring 42 goals in the Bundesliga and 13 in the qualifying campaign for this tournament shows you what Lewandowski is capable of."
