Uh oh. Heather Watson is facing a spot of bother in Eastbourne. The British number two has her serve broken by Russia's Elena Vesnina. Watson, who failed to convert FOUR break points of her own in the previous game, trails 4-2 in the first set.

Hummels extinguishes Grigg talk

Football

Earlier we told you that even the Northern Ireland lads are sick of the 'Will Grigg is on fire' song. They're not the only ones.

But you know you're living in a strange old world when this happens....

Mats Hummels has just been asked if his defence is terrified because Will Grigg is on fire. Seriously.

Injury ends season for Campese

Super League

Hull KR captain Terry Campese will not play again this season after suffering a second serious hamstring injury.

The 31-year-old Australian ruptured a tendon against Wigan on 10 June, having been out for eight weeks earlier in the campaign.

"His quality and leadership skills have been clear to see, so we shall certainly miss his influence," head of rugby Jamie Peacock said.

Rain, rain, go away. The dark skies have long disappeared from above Eastbourne. And that means we have tennis.

British number two Heather Watson is just kicking off against Russia's Elena Vesnina. She is ranked just three places below Watson, so expect a tight contest.

Vesnina holds her opening serve. Over to Watson. Follow the latest score here.

'Joshua had it easy'

Boxing

Ding ding - round one! Dominic Breazeale has already started with the verbal sparring ahead of Saturday's scrap with Anthony Joshua.

IBF heavyweight world champion Joshua, 26, is making the first defence of his title against the unbeaten American.

Joshua, who has won all 16 of his professional fights with knockouts, has only gone beyond three rounds once.

"I think Joshua's thinking of me as a stepping stone and he's going to be sorry about that," said Breazeale, 30.

Northern Ireland news conference (Tuesday, 17:00 BST)

Steven Davis has just been asked by a Norwegian journalist what he thinks about the 'Will Grigg's on fire' song...

"It has taken off really well. It's a catchy tune. The player himself has enjoyed it and it has given him a lot of recognition. It's been sung a few times within the squad but I think the lads are maybe getting a little fed up with it now."

Try again tomorrow...

England v Pakistan

Away from football it is bad news at Grace Road as England women's one-day international against Pakistan has been abandoned for the day.

Heavy rain in Leicester means, despite the groundstaff's best efforts, no play has been possible all day.

The good news is, with a reserve day in place, the players will return for a 10:30 BST start on Tuesday.

Play abandoned for the day at Grace Road, we'll be back to try again tomorrow! #ENGWomen

Wales take over Toulouse

Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales in Toulouse

The atmosphere in Toulouse has been simmering today with the southern French sunshine beating down on vast seas of red Welsh shirts.

An estimated 20,000 Wales fans are here for their crucial match against Russia, hoping to watch their team reach the knockout stages of a major tournament for just the second time in their history.

Wales’ players have spoken about the lift their loud followers gave them during their opening win against Slovakia and, having been outnumbered against England, it is expected Chris Coleman’s team will enjoy the majority of the support at the 33,000-capacity Stadium de Toulouse, the smallest Euro 2016 venue.

Three hours to go until kick-off.

How are you feeling, England and Wales fans?

We'll hear from our man in Toulouse ahead of Wales v Russia shortly.

Northern Ireland v Germany (Tuesday, 17:00 BST)

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill is speaking to the media before their final group game against Germany on Tuesday.

He said: "I don't think the permutations are really important to us. We can't think about any other teams and just have to focus on ourselves.

"We always knew this would be the most difficult game in the group."

More from the Germany press conference

Northern Ireland v Germany

Lyle Jackson

BBC Sport NI in Paris

We've already heard from Germany's Mats Hummels but here's more from their assistant manager Thomas Schneider, who will deputise for Joachim Loew because of the manager's sore throat.

Schneider said his side are determined to beat Northern Ireland at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

When it was mentioned that Northern Ireland's Conor Washington was working as a postman during the Euro 2012 tournament, Schneider said: "It is not important what they were doing four years ago; we respect them nowadays.

"They had a good qualifying campaign, ending their group as winners and have beaten Ukraine, so we know what we will face and we respect them."

Germany coach Joachim Loew was not at Monday’s media conference in Paris for the match against Northern Ireland on Tuesday – but he was not forgotten.

Asked what Loew’s reaction to Germany's 0-0 draw against Poland had been, Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels said: "He was relaxed, not as loud as Jurgen Klopp would have been. I have never seen anybody as loud as Mr Klopp before."

'Wales can go on and on'

Chris Coleman
Reuters

Wales boss Chris Coleman says Euro 2016 is "not the end of the journey" for his squad as they prepare to face Russia for a place in the last 16.

Victory in Toulouse on Monday would secure Wales' spot in the knockout phase, in their first major international tournament since 1958.

"This team has got the potential to go on and on. They've got everything to look forward to," said Coleman. "We are in a fantastic position. Nevertheless, there's more to come.

"This group, this team, they can't lose because whenever we go home, whenever that time is, we have gained so much experience."

Pedro upset at lack of playing time

Football

Chelsea and Spain forward Pedro has played only eight minutes at Euro 2016 and it is safe to say he is not impressed.

"I had different expectations when I first came here," he said in an interview with Movistar. "It is not worth me turning up just to be part of the group."

Spain's final Group D match is against Croatia on Tuesday at 20:00 BST. We'll wait to see whether manager Vicente del Bosque takes note...

Morgan seeks to continue one-day progress

Cricket

One final flurry of quotes from England ODI captain Eoin Morgan about his side's chances against Sri Lanka in the five-match series, which starts on Tuesday

On Sri Lanka: They have found it tough work since they came here, but ODI cricket comes more naturally to them. There are ranked above us, so we won't take them for granted and we are looking to ourselves to build and put performances in."

On England's past year: We're still at the very beginning of building what we hope will be a successful World Cup campaign in 2019. The 12 months we've had has been a great start, the immediate success we've had is something we need to build-on.

"Confidence is a big thing, and it's crucial to build on that confidence we've had going forward."

Rain may be preventing England women from starting their one-day series against Pakistan, but there is play in the County Championship today.

In Division One, leaders Lancashire are 49-3 against Warwickshire on day one at Old Trafford, while defending champions Yorkshire have reduced Durham to 135-7 at Chester-le-Street. Surrey - currently 299-8 - have been stalled by rain against Nottinghamshire, with a pitch inspection scheduled for 15:30 BST.

In the only Division Two under way, Glamorgan are 150-6 against Kent at Cardiff, with day two of Essex's match with Leicestershire washed out and the opening day of Derbyshire-Worcestershire suffering the same fate.
