That concludes our text coverage of tonight's T20 Blast quarter-final. Many thanks for joining us - we'll be back with the third last-eight match, between Gloucestershire and Durham, at 18:30 BST tomorrow.

BreakingNORTHANTS BEAT MIDDLESEX BY SEVEN WICKETS

Northants 135-3 (18.1 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Northants are heading back to Edgbaston, as Adam Rossington's 67 from 53 balls gives them a commanding victory over Middlesex with 11 balls remaining.

Northants 127-3 (18 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Northants need two from 12 balls

A four from the bat of Alex Wakely takes Northants to the brink - just a couple more runs needed.

Northants 124-3 (17 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Northants need just nine more runs from 18 balls. They're going to do this with some room to spare.

Another six and a couple of singles later and Adam Rossington, now 60 not out, looks likely to have won this quarter-final for Northants.

What a performance from Adam Rossington tonight. He's had an absolute blinder - he's played such a sensible innings.

50 for Rossington

And it might well be that this next over, from Harry Podmore, is the one Northants go after.

Adam Rossington smashes the first ball for six to move onto 53 from 45 balls.

Northants 104-3 (15 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Alex Wakely has joined Adam Rossington in the middle, as that last Nathan Sowter over goes for just five.

Northants need 29 from 30 balls now.

Northants 99-3 (14 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Game on? Northants require 34 from 36 balls.

WICKET Duckett (c Bailey b Roland-Jones) 29

Now then, what've we got here?! A lifeline for Middlesex, perhaps.

Ben Duckett is caught by George Bailey off the bowling of Toby Roland-Jones and it's a wicket that might just keep the visitors' hopes of making T20 Blast Finals Day alive.

Northants 92-2 (13 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Nothing to see here, folks. Just Northants cruising along. Ben Duckett onto 23, Adam Rossington to 43.

Northants 88-2 (12 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

That's massive from Adam Rossington, plonking Ryan Higgins into the standards for his second maximum to move to 40. All looking rather routine for the home side, who are dragging the required rate down if anything.

Northants 79-2 (11 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Northants need 54 from 54 balls

Ollie Rayner's first over is pretty economical, just six runs from it, but we're at a stage where Northants can most certainly afford to milk the bowling - 54 from 54 needed.

Northants 73-2 (10 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

The two Northants batsmen continue to go about their business very nicely, the in-form Ben Duckett smashes successive fours to move to 19 from 13 balls.

WASP rates their chances at 96%, and who'd argue with a WASP?

Ollie Rayner's into the attack.

Northants 61-2 (9 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Adam Rossington (25 not out) and Ben Duckett (10 not out) have calmed things down quite nicely since the wicket of Josh Cobb. Northants need 72 from 66, which should be relatively comfortable fare.

Northants 53-2 (8 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Spinner Nathan Sowter, at the tender age of 23, is into the action now - but sends down five wides first up. Not ideal.

But he recovers well - and even creates a chance from the bat of Ben Duckett, but Nick Gubbins at cover can't quite cling on to a difficult chance down to his right.

Northants 44-2 (7 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

James Franklin continues with the ball after the powerplay and, following three dots, limits the damage from that over to just the three runs. All very nip and tuck here.

James Taylor

Ex-England batsman on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

I reckon chasing you know exactly where you want to be and how to time everything, and that is exactly what Northants like doing - they like chasing. Northants are still in control, I think.

powerplayEnd of the powerplay

Northants 41-2 (6 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

That Josh Cobb wicket might well have just knocked the wind out of Northants' sails - it leaves them with exactly the same score as Middlesex at the conclusion of the powerplay period.

WICKET Cobb (b Higgins c Bailey) 12

Northants 40-2 (5.5 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Josh Cobb's fun is relatively short lived, however, as he tries one big shot too many and holes out to George Bailey off the bowling of Ryan Higgins.

Northants 38-1 (5 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Northants continue to assert their authority with a couple of fours straight down the ground from the bat of Josh Cobb, who moves to 11 from nine deliveries.

One over of the powerplay remaining.

Rossington ramps it up

Northants 27-1 (4 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

But, not to be deterred by the loss of Richard Levi, Adam Rossington has crashed Harry Podmore for six to race the hosts towards 27-1 off four overs.

Middlesex don't have many runs to play with, and regular wickets are an absolute must.

Northants 18-1 (3 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Not too shabby an over that, from Toby Roland-Jones. Just checking the progress of Northants, who now have Josh Cobb at the crease.

WICKET Levi (c Franklin b Roland-Jones) 9

Northants 18-1 (2.4 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

But Richard Levi, trying to repeat his trick of the previous over, is perhaps just beaten for pace by Toby Roland-Jones and can only spoon a catch to James Franklin at fine leg. Boy, did Middlesex need that.

Legside Levi!

Northants 12-0 (2 overs) v Middlesex 132-7

Take that!

Richard Levi, very much the stand-and-deliver-type batsman, launches poor old Harry Podmore down to his favourite cow corner and out of the ground. Huge.

Twelve from the first 12 balls.

Northants 4-0 (1 over) v Middlesex 132-7

Toby Roland-Jones sends down a lively first over, beating the outside of Richard Levi's bat with his fifth delivery, but there's no reward for the Middlesex seamer and a handful of singles helps Northants to a steady start.

Northants need 133 to reach T20 Blast Finals Day

Adam Rossington and Richard Levi are in the middle, Toby Roland-Jones has the ball in his hand, and so I think the Northants reply is about ready to begin.

Let's get cracking...

Middlesex post 132-7 (20 overs)

And that's your lot. James Franklin ends unbeaten on 21, his partner Ollie Rayner on two.

I reckon Northants will be very happy with their 20 overs' work, but it's still all to play for. I'll be back with you in around 10 minutes.

Middlesex 124-7 (19 overs) v Northants

Six balls to go, what can Middlesex muster up?

Ollie Rayner joins James Franklin, who has 15 from 12 deliveries. Azharullah to bowl.

WICKET Higgins (c & b Kleinveldt) 4

Middlesex 120-7 (18.4 overs) v Northants

And, after a rather hopeless attempted switch hit brings about another dot, Ryan Higgins is finally put out of his misery.

He launches Rory Kleinveldt straight up, and then straight back down into the South African's big, welcoming hands.

Middlesex 117-6 (18 overs) v Northants

This is really fine bowling from Richard Glesson, who, recognising Ryan Higgins is determined to give himself room to hit through the covers, continually bangs it in short at varying pace.

Five from the over, 12 balls to come.

Middlesex 112-6 (17 overs) v Northants

I think you'd take that from the 17th over of an innings every time - one run from it, and the wicket of Toby Roland-Jones.

Middlesex have 18 balls to save their T20 Blast campaign.

WICKET Roland-Jones (c Cobb b Kleinveldt) 2

Middlesex 111-6 (16.2 overs) v Northants

And the away side are quickly running out of recognised batsman too, as Toby Roland-Jones hammers a short ball from Rory Kleinveldt high into the dusk sky and down into the grateful hands of Josh Cobb.

Northants well and truly on top.

Middlesex 111-5 (16 overs) v Northants

Toby Roland-Jones and James Franklin have some rebuilding job to do here, both relatively new to the crease and with their Middlesex side looking short of a competitive total.

Seven from that last over - but most crucially the key wicket.

'A huge, huge wicket'

James Taylor

Ex-England batsman on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

That's a huge wicket. It's a massively valuable innings from George Bailey, but again it's a timely wicket for Northants - every time they look like they've got something going Middlesex lose a wicket.

WICKET Bailey (c Levi b Gleeson) 46

Middlesex 104-5 (15.1 overs) v Northants

Richard Gleeson

The big one!

George Bailey, just four short of a half-century, tries to hammer the returning Richard Gleeson to the boundary but can only pick out Richard Levi on the edge of the circle.

That's the wicket Northants will have been desperate to take.

Oh no, Ben!

Middlesex 104-4 (15 overs) v Northants

Ben Duckett, who so brilliantly caught John Simpson just a moment ago, has had a shocker here.

George Bailey comes skipping down the track to Graeme White, launches a huge heave-ho into the leg side... But Duckett, who lines it up nicely, spills it over the boundary rope. That was all or nothing for Bailey, who is now 46 not out.

Middlesex 96-4 (14 overs) v Northants

Well bowled, Seekkuge Prasanna. The spinner's four overs have gone for just 20 runs and seen off both Paul Stirling and John Simpson.

Six overs to go, fireworks needed.

WICKET Simpson (c Duckett b Prasanna) 8

Middlesex 93-4 (13.4 overs) v Northants

Another one bites the dust!

John Simpson is the latest to go, again caught on the rope down at long on - and a fine grab it is too, Ben Duckett, only a few inches in from the boundary, takes it above his head.

James Franklin's next up.

WICKET: Simpson is caught by Duckett off Prasanna for 8! Middlesex are now 93-4 (13.4) #MadeOfSteel

Middlesex 85-3 (13 overs) v Northants

But while George Bailey's there - as he is, still unbeaten on 36 from 39 balls - this could yet get messy.

Nine runs come from that latest Graeme White over.

Middlesex 78-3 (12 overs) v Northants

Another fine over from Seekkuge Prasanna, whose three sets have gone for only 11, as well as snaffling the crucial wicket of Paul Stirling.

John Simpson is the new man in.
