Player reaction

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Son Heung-min, speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm very happy because we win the first home game and I score the first Premier League goal. I hope every week is like this. It's amazing (to play in the Premier League), a really different style to the Bundesliga, more power and speed. I like this and am happy to play."

Hugo Lloris, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we deserved the three points. It's a good win because in front of us was a good team. They will trouble other teams because they have real quality.

"I think you can see Son Heung-min is happy here and the influence he has on the game. He has good skills and will help the team to go forward."

Bradley Allen

Former QPR striker on BBC London 94.9

"An excellent week for Tottenham. They've now got two very difficult games coming up, and from the reaction of the crowd at the final whistle, they knew the importance of this result.

Palace hit the post twice but their quality on the ball let them down today. And if only because of the energy levels of Son Heung-min, he deserves to be the match-winner."

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Son Heung-min is hugged in the dugout, he's the match-winner this afternoon.

Don't forget the crucial part played too by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. His save from Bakary Sako a minute before the sole goal was crucial.

INJURY TIME

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Don't do it!

Nothing worse than a defender shooting from miles out in stoppage time. Pape Souare blazes well over the top. Spurs almost home.

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Bradley Allen

Former QPR striker on BBC London 94.9

"Kitchen sink time. Crystal Palace are looking to load the box and get it into the mixer.

"What will this win do for Spurs' confidence, knowing how well Crystal Palace have been playing so far this season?"

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Into the last minute. Palace with a corner now...

Bradley Allen

"Spurs' quality on the ball has been far superior to Crystal Palace's today. I don't think there's any surprise they're leading."

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Enough now, enough.

Frazier Campbell and Hugo Lloris square up after a heavy challenge which they were both entitled to go for. Palace force a throw in the corner. In the box!

The first flurry of nerves about White Hart Lane as Palace have two dangerous crosses well defended. Five minutes left.

Erik Lamela is off, Thomas Carroll is on.

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Spurs moving level with Palace on nine points as it stands - but here comes Patrick Bamford on for the visitors. Can he snatch a goal?

Stephen:  Palace have been Heung out to dry now..

Graham Jack Thirkhill:  The Lane of the Rising Son. Bet you haven't heard that one yet!

I thought we'd all agreed to leave the Son-Heung-min puns alone?

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Palace have 10 minutes left to rescue this one. Yohan Cabaye wins the ball back with a great tackle but Yannick Bolasie is tracked all the way back by Clinton Njie and loses out. Fine work from the new man.

Bradley Allen

Former QPR striker on BBC London 94.9

"Son Heung-min's been brilliant this afternoon. His team-mates have thrived off the energy he's produced. What an impact he's had, so soon after arriving in a big transfer. He deserves his ovation."

SUBSTITUTION

Son Heung-min gets a standing ovation as he comes off - on comes Clinton Njie.

SUBSTITUTION

Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Palace chuck on Jordon Mutch for James McArthur in midfield, a bit of sparkle in the centre perhaps.

It's Spurs who counter well this time though, Dele Alli ignoring team-mates in the centre - like Son - to shoot from the left. But unlike Son, he fired wide.

What an impact by Son Heung-min. He had plenty to do when he picked the ball up (in the 7 shirt) but drove on and buried the ball.

White Hart Lane bouncing now as Spurs look to see this one out.

Played against Son a couple of times...got to see in the videos before we played them that he looked a really good player. Good recruitment.

Bradley Allen

Former QPR striker on BBC London 94.9

"The prediction before the game was that Crystal Palace can play counter-attacking football, but Son Hueng-min offers that for Spurs.

"The ball seemed to squirm through Alex McCarthy's legs at the near post. Maybe he could have done better. But Spurs fans won't care."

GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Son Hueng-min

Deadlock broken! Erik Lamela finds Christian Eriksen in the '10' position, he sendsSon Heung-mininto space on the left. He has two men over, got to pass it! Got to pass it!

He shoots - and scores! Straight through Alex McCarthy and into the net. A touch greedy, but deservedly so. Son has his first Premier League goal.

Bradley Allen

Former QPR striker on BBC London 94.9

"What an amazing save by Hugo Lloris. How many times did we say that last season? Tremendous goalkeeping.

"Brede Hangeland then got a run on his marker and was very close to scoring - he just jumped too early and mistimed his header."

SUBSTITUTION - Eriksen on

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Dane playmaker Christian Eriksen is on for his first appearance in a month, he replaces Nacer Chadli to huge applause.

HITS THE WOODWORK

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

What a hit! What a save!

Pape Souare's left-wing cross runs through to Bakary Sako at the far post, he absolutely drills in a half volley which Hugo Lloris turns, one-handed, on to the post. Brilliant!

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Christian Eriksen is now out warming up for Spurs, looks like a late goal may be on the agenda after all.

Palace have not threatened at all since half-time. Hang on...

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Bradley Allen

Former QPR striker on BBC London 94.9

"I think Alan Pardew needs to make further changes. His team have had nothing at all and they look like they're tiring.

"Spurs can break them if they just keep passing the ball. There's still plently of time left, even it is a late winner."

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Into the last half hour. Spurs undeniably on top but do they look like scoring? Not very often.

This is where they have relied on Gareth Bale or Christian Eriksen for a late match-winner in recent times...

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Plenty of possession and attacking intent from Tottenham but, so far, to no avail...

Bradley Allen

"The assistant referee was pretty certain - Harry Kane was offside for the initial shot, and he was still hanging around as Ben Davies got his head to the ball. Good decision from the officials."

DISALLOWED GOAL

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Well it nearly worked! Left-back Ben Davies heads into the net after Son Heung-min had a shot well saved, but the offside flag was raised against Harry Kane. Kane was heavily involved in preventing Brede Hangeland from clearing so that's a correct call for me.

Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

The tempo is drifting out of this game, into the sort of game I've seen from Spurs at home pretty often over the last few years. Lots of the ball, but not too much danger.

If that doesn't encourage a Spurs goal, nothing will...
