Farewell

And that's all from us here tonight - we await any fall out from Chelsea with baited breath. Stay across the BBC Sport website and app for updates throughout the evening no doubt.

In the mean time you can of course follow the second half of Arsenal v Everton here.

Adios!

Well played gunners, we can win this! Disgusting to see dives like the one Deulofeu committed! #bbcfootball @bbcfootball @arsenal

Chelsea evidently did not put any staff forwards for the ladies and gentleman of the press then this afternoon.

They'll get fined for that (I think). Though that is hardly a novelty for the guys at the Bridge is it?

HALF-TIME

Arsenal 2-1 Everton

Arsenal 2-1 Everton

BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "It's about keeping that belief. You need a bit of luck, and Everton are back in the game. At 2-0 you wonder what is going to happen to Everton but Ross Barkley has taken the shot on and sometimes it's not going to fly in the top corner but you get rewarded for trying it."

GOAL - Arsenal 2-1 Everton

Ross Barkley (44 mins)

Everton find a way back into the game in the driving north London rain. Ross Barkley runs at the Arsenal defence, shoots left-footed and the ball takes a huge deflection off Gabriel and loops in.

ARSENAL GO TOP

Arsenal 2-0 Everton

Not great from Tim Howard, either goal.

You can follow a full live page on that match here.

Arsenal going top of the table as it stands.

Arsenal 2-0 Everton

BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "You have got to look at Tim Howard. It's four yards out and he's come flapping for it. He has to be anticipating a cross like that. If he can't punch a ball that's a few yards of him you've got to ask questions."

Bishop Yinkus: What an assist, what a goal. A pinpoint cross from Ozil and a fine finish from Giroud.

James William Dingle: Make no mistake, Ozil is world class. World class.

Nameeb Itmaam: Everton falling apart. Howard should really start trying to punch the ball.

GOAL - Arsenal 2-0 Everton

Laurent Koscielny (38 mins)

That escalated quickly! Arsenal double their lead with another simple header as Laurent Koscielny heads home a Santi Cazorla free-kick.

Arsenal 1-0 Everton

BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "That's why Olivier Giroud is in the side and he's taken it well. It was a great ball in from Mesut Ozil, but why Everton's players allowed him to go in on his left foot. You don't allow him come on to his stronger foot."

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Everton

Olivier Giroud (36 mins)

Arsenal break the deadlock and it's Olivier Giroud with the deftest of headers from Mesut Ozil's cross. Lovely finish.

In the corner!

Sending off was key

West Ham 2-1 Chelsea

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic told BBC Sport: “We are delighted. We are playing good. It was important for us to do it against the champions and in front of our fans. It feels like a perfect day for us.

“On the disallowed goal, nobody can say Cesc Fabregas was onside and nobody can say he was off. It was very tight. It was a very tough decision for the referee. You have to freeze the picture and you’re still not sure. Chelsea had a point but if it was given, we would have had a point to complain.

"The red card looked quite clear, the two bookings were bookings. It had a major impact on the game."

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "John Stones should hit the target. It wasn't the best cross in the world, but with the conditions the Arsenal goalkeeper has palmed it. However, Stones just couldn't finish it off cleanly."

CLOSE!

Big chance for Everton as John Stones slices a shot wide from a half-cleared set-piece.

I wouldn't say it was a wet day but there's a chap in the away end wearing just speedos and a swimming cap. Honestly!

'He tells us how to beat them'

West Ham 2-1 Everton

West Ham striker Andy Carroll told BBC Sport: "We’ve got a great atmosphere at the training ground. It’s fantastic to be a part of. He’s a top manager – he analyses the opposition and then tells us how to beat them.

"We thought we could beat them today. It wasn’t about Chelsea, it was about us. We’ve had some great wins this season and hopefully we’ll carry on. The way we’re going, we’ve got a right shot at it [a high finish]. I don’t see why not."

Arsenal 0-0 Everton

BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "Arsenal have had a lot of possession but Everton are starting to grow into the game. The Everton midfielders are beginning to put their foot on the ball a bit more."

'We can keep Carroll fit'

West Ham 2-1 Chelsea

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic feels Andy Carroll could remain injury free after they did not rush him back.

“We changed the schedule and philosophy and the way of training," he told BBC Sport.

"He always used to come back after five or six weeks of training but it doesn’t help him. He goes running into the box and fighting with people. Now he was training hard for six to eight weeks and came back in the team gradually.

"It’s impossible to mark him in the box. His quality was never in question. If he’s in good shape now we have a good chance that he will be injury free for a long time. In that case West Ham and England will benefit from that a lot."

Daniel: Sherwood never had any tactics but was brought in to fire the players up now, he can't do that anymore. He has to go.

Met Steinberg: Sherwood blames the players again, yet he's the one picking them. He won't take responsibility for his actions. Has to go.

Original narrator: Thought Mourinho reiterated the importance of "mental discipline" at derbies. Someone should tell him about that.

Mike Hall: What are the odds on Jose Mourinho resigning tonight? He realises that his reputation is being destroyed this season.

Anj: I do get annoyed with this Mourinho tactic of it always being someone else's fault. It's coming across like he's a sore loser.

Ronan: Credit to Chelsea who showed spirit after going down to 10-men. It's easy to lose confidence when you're battling relegation.

'We're all behind Sherwood'

Aston Villa 1-2 Swansea

Aston Villa

Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton: "Everyone is behind the manager 100%. We need to turn this around. We're behind him and everyone is pushing in the same way.

"We're working hard and training hard and hopefully we'll improve. We want to do well. There's no easy games and we know what we have to do."

Tim in Devon: It's hard to feel anything but satisfaction at Chelsea's implosion. Owner, manager, captain and more than a few fans are downright unpleasant, and every blow landed on them feels like a lovely warm happy bath to me. I hope it continues!

Any Chelsea fans want to disagree with that?

Manager reaction

Stoke 0-2 Watford

Stoke manager Mark Hughes asked if that was one of the worst of his 100 games in charge of Stoke:

"It wasn't one of my best. Losing defender Geoff Cameron to injury disrupted us. We had to make changes at the back. We didn't deal with the two up front. We needed to be better than we were today.

"Their two guys up front [Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo] demand service and they managed to mess us around at the back. We will be better than that. At 1-0 down we tried to change things around because we couldn't make any headway. We then made an individual error when Marc Wilson lost the ball leading up to the second goal."

West Ham 2-1 Chelsea

Slaven Bilic is facing the TV cameras after his side's win but we have not seen any sight of a member of the Chelsea staff yet. The word is we won't be seeing anyone either.

Arsenal v Everton (17:30 BST)

The teams are out at a rainy and windy Emirates...

Manager reaction

Leicester 1-0 Crystal Palace

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri: "It was a tough match, a battle for us, they are stronger than us. We battled well and deserved to win. We are taking it step-by step. It's important to achieve 40 points, that is our first goal.

"Jamie (Vardy) is fantastic because every ball could be good for him. The spirit is fantastic and is one of our strengths, we never give up and continue to fight.

"It was a more Italian than English match apart from the last 10 minutes.

"I took the ball because it was our ball. Maybe now I meet Alan Pardew in my dressing room."

'The lads are devastated'

West Ham 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill told BBC Sport: "[The mood in the dressing room] is not great - like you’d imagine when you lose games. Last season we weren’t used to it. The lads are devastated.

"You’re left scratching your head sometimes. In the first half the Cesc Fabregas goal could have been given and we had the goal that was nearly over the line. That sums up the way we’re going.

"And then we’ve got the sending off. Originally we played on – we thought the referee had played on. Maybe the assistant called it back, I’m not sure sure what’s happened there. We’ve not had the rub of the green but we’re not feeling sorry for ourselves. We have to work hard to turn this round.

"Not many words are being said at the moment. I’m sure we’ll reflect in next day or so. We worked really hard at 10 men and had the majority of the play in the second half. It’s a summary of our season at the minute."

Manager reaction

Stoke 0-2 Watford

Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores talking to BBC Sport: "We tried to play very well. The performance was the main thing. We tried to play with high confidence - it was tough against a Stoke side who came into the match having won the last three.

"After we scored we tried to keep playing a high line. We worked really hard. The balance was amazing between defence and offence.

On striker Troy Deeney getting his first league goal of the season:

"I wasn't worried about the display of Deeney. He has been unlucky so far. Scoring is important for the confidence of strikers. I'm happy for the victory and performance, and happy for the fans."

Aston Villa 1-2 Swansea

Tim Sherwood sounded very glum in that interview, he then went on to give monosyllabic answers to the poor guy from Sky Sports.

If you're Tim Sherwood's dog, and you're reading this, time to hide under the sofa.
