Goodbye!

Peep, peep, peep! The final whistle has been blown - and Messrs Lineker, Shearer and Murphy are heading back to the MOTD dressing room.

I've no idea whether those three will enjoy a celebratory post-match nightcap - but jubilant Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe might well do so. Night everybody!

Premier League table

At the bottom, Sunderland remain in the relegation zone after Watford's win at the Stadium of Light.

It is onwards and upwards for Bournemouth though who are up to 14th after back-to-back wins over Chelsea and Manchester United.

So what's the state of play after that little lot? Well, Manchester City are back on top - for 24 hours at least - while Tottenham could leapfrog beaten Manchester United into the top four.

And, Crystal Palace and Watford fans, keep pinching yourself. You're well in the European qualification mixer.

Tough game here at Upton Park, we wanted more than one point. Thanks to the away fans, incredible support as always!

Unlucky not to take all 3 points at the end but not a bad point against a good Stoke side.. @whufc_official #coyi

My first and last game at the Boleyn, great atmosphere and in the end an important result for us! Another clean sheet for us too! 👊🏼🔥

Man of the match

West Ham 0-0 Stoke

Shawcross? Butland? Antonio? Each had a good shout of nabbing the prestigious BBC Sport website's man-of-the-match prize. (That's the first thing Premier League footballers look out for after a game these days.)

And the winner is...drum roll please...Jack Butland! Here why our reporter Caroline Chapman plumped for the Stoke keeper: "Michail Antonio looked decent for West Ham, but the plaudits go to Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland for keeping his seventh clean sheet of the season."

Manager reaction - Hughes

West Ham 0-0 Stoke

Along with Bilic, Stoke manager Mark Hughes is right up there in the Premier-League-managers-who-you-wouldn't want-to-cross-in-a-bad-mood table. Thankfully, the Welshman is happy - and that was even before the Euro 2016 draw.

"We're reasonably pleased with the draw," he says, referring to the point at the Boleyn Ground and not his nation being pitted against England next summer (obviously).

"I thought we defended really well. Both teams will be comfortable with the point. That's something we can build on.

"[The clean sheet record] is a base and platform to build on. West Ham are a good team and as the home side we knew it was a test for us."

Manager reaction - Bilic

West Ham 0-0 Stoke

Baggy eyes, five o'clock shadow, gloomy demeanour. The expression of West Ham boss Slaven Bilic rarely changes win, lose or draw. But, despite looking otherwise, the Croatian is feeling rather upbeat.

"Both teams defended well. We hit the post twice and they did once. I'm not happy with the result but it was a fair result," he said.

"Considering the effort we put in I can't be unhappy with my team.

"I can't be happier with our spirit and togetherness and resilience and, at times, our quality."

West Ham 0-0 Stoke

Crash! Thwack! Wallop! The match might have been goalless but it finished 1-1 in the rattling-the-woodwork score. And 34 attempts at goal between the two sides. Definitely worth waiting up for....

Attacks blunted

West Ham 0-0 Stoke

Home striker Andy Carroll (left) did not even had a touch in the Stoke penalty area in that first half, instead being frustrated by the close attentions of Ryan Shawcross.

And Stoke's Bojan - nominally their 'centre-forward' with Marko Arnautovic on the left and Ibrahim Afellay on the right - only touched the ball once in the opposition box.

Big blow for Stoke. Xherdan Shaqiri, or the 'Alpine Messi' as he is known to almost no-one outside of his native Switzerland, is out through illness. That means Marco van Ginkel steps up from the bench.

West Ham are forced to make two changes with centre-back Winston Reid and winger Victor Moses out injured. Wales international James Collins and summer signing Michail Antonio come into the starting line-up.

The Hammers splashed out a whopping £7m for former Nottingham Forest striker Antonio remember. Time to repay a chunk of that cash splurge?

The end is nigh I'm afraid, football fans. West Ham v Stoke is our final game. Sobs...

Manager reaction - Martinez

Norwich 1-1 Everton

Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "Football can be cruel at times and it was today. There is considerable frustration when you create so many chances and you don't get the second goal.

"You end up having something to lose. Norwich could have been out of the game at half-time but we gave them a little bit of hope.

"Then the belief and momentum goes into them with the goal."

Manager reaction - Neil

Norwich 1-1 Everton

Norwich manager Alex Neil: "If we perform like we did in the second half then we will be fine.

"We had a good discussion in terms of what's acceptable and all the questions I posed to them at half-time they came out and answered.

"Tactically nothing changed. All that changed in the second half was the way we went about our business."

Hoo's the man of the match?

Norwich 1-1 Everton

Any ideas from our teasing headline? Correct! Wes Hoolahan was picked out as the star performer by BBC Sport's Neil Johnston, who said the Norwich goalscorer capped "a terrific second-half performance with a scrappy, yet vital, equaliser".

Hoolahan has been involved in more Premier League goals this season (seven – two goals, five assists) than any other Norwich player.

Made to pay

Norwich 1-1 Everton

As the graph above illustrates, Everton used the right flank to attack Norwich during a one-sided first half but a failure to convert their chances eventually cost them all three points as they struggled to have the same impact after half-time (see graph below) as Norwich came back strongly.

'A game of two halves'

Norwich 1-1 Everton

*Football cliche klaxon*

Today's match really was a game of two halves. Shearer told me earlier in the MOTD production office that Everton could have been 5-0 up at half-time!

Look away now Cameron...

Norwich 1-1 Everton

Cameron Jerome, I'm sorry. I really am.

But not only have we just watched your awful miss on MOTD, we're also going to look at it again in graphical form. It's the punters - they just love a bit of schadenfreude.

How on earth did Jerome fail to score?

Lovely play in the build-up all goes to waste. And yes, he really was that close when he fired over the bar.

Norwich 1-1 Everton

Oooh, the natives weren't happy. Norwich fans let off some steam by booing their side in the first half. Everton tore them apart at times, having seven shots compared to Norwich's two (and neither were on target).

Sam Allardyce asks where he can buy a Premier League striker who scores goals. Well if he doesn't know, then how are we meant to? Maybe Super Kevin Phillips could still do a job? Or that Italian lad Manolo Gabbiadini - isn't he related to Marco?? (He's not...)

Who was man of the match at the Stadium of Light? Just ask Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe, who was denied an equaliser by Heurelho Gomes's finger-tips.

That was the pick of a bunch of top stops of by the Brazilian goalkeeper and BBC Sport's Chris Bevan picked him as his star performer, saying: "He was a spectator in the first half but made several key saves after the break."

We showed we can fight - Flores

Sunderland 0-1 Watford

Watford head coach Quique Flores: "We started really well and for the first 25 minutes we did well with the ball and created several chances.

"Towards the end we had to defend well and we showed everyone that we can fight too.

"It was very satisfying to see - everyone has talked a lot about the strikers but what we do when we don't have the ball is important too."

Back in the pressure pot - Allardyce

Sunderland 0-1 Watford

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce: "It was just the beginning of the game that was the poor bit but, because of that, we lost a game we shouldn't have done. Some of the chances we created and missed in the second half were a big problem for us.

"I look at the chances in the last 15 or 20 minutes and I am a little bit dumbfounded why we haven't at least got one point on the board.

"If we had won it would have made such a huge difference but now we are back in the pressure pot which is really disappointing with the games we have coming up."

The Black Cats stay 19th in the table and face Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool in their next three games.

Big Sam's big plan is foiled

Sunderland 0-1 Watford

Watford head coach Quique Flores said afterwards that his team showed they could fight, and their victory was certainly a battle.

The Hornets faced a typical Sam Allardyce-style onslaught of ball after ball hoisted into their box in the second half but coped pretty well with Big Sam's big plan.

Sunderland fired in 24 crosses from open play or corners, after the break, but only four of them found a team-mate.

Sunderland were caught cold. But Odion Ighalo is red-hot.

It took Ighalo just four minutes to score his 10th goal of the season and his 26th in 2015 - more than any other player in the top four tiers of English football.
