We'll be back for the Boxing Day fixtures. Aberdeen are at home to Inverness CT and will be looking to go top of the table, with Celtic visiting Hearts on the 27th.

Today's highlights will be online from 18:00 GMT and on Sportscene, which has moved to 22:10 tomorrow night on BBC Two Scotland.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope Santa is good to you when the big day comes...

Hibees on a high

Of course, Hibs go to Ibrox on 28 December and that should be a real humdinger, although neither side has been anywhere near their best in recent weeks...

Queen of the South are not happy about the late winner at Easter Road since it came from a drop ball when a visiting player was injured.

Championship drama

The lunchtime kick-off saw Rangers miss a stoppage-time penalty in a 2-1 loss at Falkirk.

For the second week running, Hibernian scored in time added on to beat Queen of the South and move level on points with Mark Warburton's league leaders.

Falkirk still very much in the hunt, six points further back.

Motherwell stun champions

Motherwell move further away from the relegation zone with their first win at Celtic Park since 2008.

The visitors played well throughout but it looked like their luck was out when they went behind to a deflected strike. However, Mark McGhee's side simply knuckled down and were rewarded by Louis Moult's double.

Thistle keep run going

It might not have been a classic at Firhill but Partick Thistle players will enjoy their Christmas dinners, basking in the glory of a fourth consecutive league win. Alan Archibald's side are still in the bottom half of the table but are just two points off fifth place.

Well, well, we were served up a few Christmas crackers today, with the odd turkey to keep us grounded in Scottish football land.

Aberdeen are right back in the mix, just one point behind Premiership leaders Celtic, although Ronny Deila's side do have a game in hand.

Hearts stay third, shoring up after going down to 10 men at St Johnstone then getting lucky as Saints missed a host of chances, including a dreadful missed penalty from Steven Maclean.

Phew! A few twists in the tale today, with Motherwell picking up maximum points at Celtic Park and Dundee United seconds away from a victory away to Inverness CT, only to be undone by a goalkeeping howler.

FULL-TIME Partick Thistle 1-0 Ross County

Four wins on the spin for the Jags, thanks to an odd own goal from Andrew Davies.

GOAL - Championship round-up

FULL-TIME Kilmarnock 0-4 Aberdeen

The Dons are just one point behind Premiership leaders after a one-sided victory at Rugby Park.

GREAT SAVE! St Johnstone 0-0 Hearts

Murray Davidson sticks out a boot trying to put St Johnstone ahead but Neil Alexander is on hand again to keep Hearts level.

GOAL Inverness CT 2-2 Dundee Utd (Horner)

A howler from United keeper Mihael Szromnik! He lets the ball slip through his hands and it falls to, or rather bounces off, Lewis Horner for a late leveller.

FULL-TIME Dundee 4-0 Hamilton

Dundee end their long wait for a win in style, with all the goals coming before the interval and Kane Hemmings netting a hat-trick.

HITS THE WOODWORK Inverness CT 1-2 Dundee Utd

Gary Warren thumps a header against the crossbar as the Inverness defender meets a Greg Tansey delivery.

Billy McKay returns to haunt his former club as he pokes in after Owain Fon Williams spills a shot to spark wild scenes behind the goal from the Dundee United support.

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon keeps his side in the game with a fine save from Marvin Johnson's side-footed effort.

GREAT SAVE! St Johnstone 0-0 Hearts

Neil Alexander denies Chris Kane from close range. Hearts clinging on in Perth...

Celtic 1-2 Motherwell

An excellent finger-tip save from Connor Ripley from a Kris Commons keeps Motherwell in front.

Kilmarnock 0-3 Aberdeen

Kilmarnock have done little in the game and at the moment will do well to keep the score to 0-3. Dons substitute Cammy Smith picks out Adam Rooney who fires at goal but sees his effort saved. Then Smith's endeavor again creates the chance for Jonny Hayes who goes close.

MISSED PENALTY St Johnstone 0-0 Hearts

Steven MacLean skies his penalty. Dreadful effort.

PENALTY St Johnstone 0-0 Hearts

Chris Kane is brought down by Miguel Pallardo. Spot-kick to the Saints...

Inverness CT 1-1 Dundee United

Liam Polworth is twice denied a second goal. His first shot is cleared off the line by a defender, before he fires another at goal but this time Michal Szromnik gets a leg to it. It is a very open game and with the rain lashing down both teams fancy their chances of a winner.

Kilmarnock 0-3 Aberdeen

Jonathan Sutherland

BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

Aberdeen now in first gear, which is enough. Kilmarnock have never managed to get out of neutral.

CLOSE! St Johnstone 0-0 Hearts

Michael O'Halloran should really have put St Johnstone ahead there. The winger had the whole goal to aim for as he rose to head Liam Craig's lofted pass and, after it was blocked, O'Halloran contrived to shoot straight at goalkeeper Neil Alexander.

HITS THE WOODWORK Partick Thistle 1-0 Ross County

The home side have taken their foot of the gas after blowing Accies away in the first half. The visitors are seeing more of the ball but they're not doing anything with it.

Inverness CT 1-1 Dundee United

The Dundee United fans are screaming for a penalty but it looks like a great challenge from Nat Wedderburn to deny Ryan McGowan, who raced into the box to try and get on the rebound after Owain Fon Williams had saved from Scott Fraser.

CLOSE! St Johnstone 0-0 Hearts

Liam Craig cuts a frustrated figure after his long-range shot sails just too high over the Hearts crossbar.

Championship round-up

Hibernian are still locked at 0-0 with Queen of the South, with home fans growing frustrated at Easter Road. Remember, a win will take the Leith side level on points with leaders Rangers, who lost at Falkirk earlier.

St Mirren are 2-0 up at Alloa and Livingston lead Dumbarton 1-0.

GOAL Celtic 1-2 Motherwell (Moult)

Louis Moult doubles his tally with a cool spot-kick, right down the middle as Craig Gordon dives to his left.

PENALTY Celtic 1-1 Motherwell

Scott McDonald is clipped by Jozo Simunovic and Motherwell have a penalty...

GOAL Partick Thistle 1-0 Ross County (Davies o.g)
