If I was one of the Northern Ireland players watching that game, then I'd be feeling quietly confident of my chances of beating Germany in their final group game. They certainly didn't look like potential champions.

OK, tonight's game might not have been a classic, but at least it tells us one thing - there's arguably no clear favourites for the tournament, and that can only be good for the prospect of an open Euro 2016.

We'll be back again tomorrow, so see you then.

Alfred Fellows: This is one of the teams [poland] i decided i wanted to watch apart from British teams and 0-0 happened

James Mayback: Poland team is such a resolute and compact team, more or less like Atletico Madrid.

David Robinson: I've seen enough in Germany's games against Ukraine and Poland to think NI could snatch a goal against them on Tues.

Who's up next?

If I had to pick a team that has impressed me the most so far it would be Italy, and they are in action tomorrow. Here's the full fixture line up:

Italy v Sweden (14:00 BST)

Czech Republic v Croatia (17:00 BST)

Spain v Turkey (20:00 BST)

Germany 0-0 Poland

Despite being involved in one of the dullest European Championship game in sometime, Poland still look very much like dark horses.

They successfully limited the world champions to very few chances and got a point that all but seals their place in the last 16. Job done.

'Some players look exhausted'

Germany 0-0 Poland

Jens Lehmann

Former Germany goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 live

Germany could have been a lot more precise, and I am a little bit disappointed by how we played tonight.

We faced a strong Polish team, and we were are not as dangerous going forward as the last World Cup. We are not threatening the flanks and I'm not sure about Mario Gotze playing as a false nine, he is too small to offer a threat and no-one crosses to him. I would play Thomas Muller there and bring on Mario Gomez at a later stage.

There is a lot of work to do. We are missing Miroslav Klose, and four or five players have come into this tournament exhausted, either after injury and are not used to the rhythm of the game. Especially at the end of the season, it's not easy to be fresh in your mind.

As it stands

Euro 2016
#bbceuro2016

The biggest losers from that, apart from us I suppose for a wasted 90 minutes, is Ukraine. A draw means they are the first team that are out of Euro 2016.

It's a good result for Northern Ireland going into the final round of group games. They could yet finish top of their group.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Whoever suggested this game would be a classic? I think most of us will forget it within the hour.

That's the first time Germany have failed to score at a Euros since the 2008 final.

FULL-TIME

Germany 0-0 Poland

All over and a very credible draw for Poland, but not a match that will live long in the memory.

Germany 0-0 Poland

...Toni Kroos whips the ball in but it is beaten away.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Mesut Ozil has summoned the last bit of energy he has to win a free-kick by the corner flag.

Last chance for Germany...

Germany 0-0 Poland

Jens Lehmann

Former Germany goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 live

We don't look dangerous, I'm sorry to say the last pass is not precise enough.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Poland have turned the sign around on the door and shut up shop. It's backs to the walls now as Germany are allowed to press.

Germany 0-0 Poland

The 90 minutes are up and we are into the first of three added minutes.

We've seen a few late goals so far in this tournament, will we see another today?

Kamil Gilk

Germany 0-0 Poland

A final change for Poland as Kamil Grosicki makes way for Slawomir Peszko - a defensive midfield. Poland are not taking any unnecessary late risks.

I get the impression neither set of fans will see this result as a disaster - although for the neutrals in here there hasn't been much to feast on.Good job both sets of fans have endeavoured to keep the evening ticking along.

Welcome to the world of goalless draws, Euro 2016?

Germany 0-0 Poland

I don't think we look fresh any more. The physical power they have but the mental freshness has gone a little bit.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Watching on nervously will be Ukraine fans. A goalless draw sends their side out, but a Germany win keeps them in it, and they'll have been off their seats just now as Mesut Ozil plays Benedikt Howedes through, but he can't control the ball and Poland clear.

Germany 0-0 Poland

...and it's over the bar.

Germany 0-0 Poland

I'm disappointed to say it, but this game is slumping towards our first goalless draw of the tournament. No urgency from either side.

Saying that, Poland have a free kick. It's right on the edge of the area and Kamil Grosicki is over it.

Ian Dunn: Are we about to have the first goalless bore of Euro 2016?

Daniel Woodley: I wouldn't rule out another late winner. #EURO2016undefined seems to be the tournament for 90th minute goals

I feel sorry for Benedikt Howedes, he's a central defender but he's playing right-back and he can't dribble around players like you would expect from a full-back.

I've just noticed that Poland coach Adam Nawalka shook hands with Joachim Low before kick off. Tremendously courageous move given the scenes from Germany's previous game.

Back to matters on the pitch and Bartosz Kapustka is on for Jakub Błaszczykowski for Poland.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Am I the only one who thinks Gotze is over rated?

Judging by chat on Twitter, Brian, no. No you are not.

Germany 0-0 Poland

My hands have been dancing around some unfamiliar places on this keyboard as I strive to make sure I spell the Poland players' names correctly.

There's a new one added to the mix as Krzysztof Maczynski is replaced by Legia Warsaw defender Tomasz Jodlowiec for the closing stages.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Mats Hummels blocks Krzysztof Maczynski's shot as Poland attack.

Jens Lehmann is adamant this game will not finish 0-0. I'm not so sure.

Fifteen minutes left for someone to come up with a goal.

Guess who's back?

Germany 0-0 Poland

Jens Lehmann

Former Germany goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 live

Mario Gomez has been out for more than two years, he missed the World Cup not through injury but because he has not been picked. I'm not sure about putting Thomas Muller back on the right side, though, he looks more dangerous in the middle.

SUBSTITUTION

Germany 0-0 Poland

Germany make their second change as Julian Draxler is replaced by Mario Gomez for the final 20 minutes.

A win for either side will see them into the last 16 with a game to spare.

Germany 0-0 Poland

At the other end, Mesut Ozil warms up Lukasz Fabianski's hands with a rasping effort.

After a lull, this game is threatening to liven up again.

Is Arkadisuz Milik still winded? It seems so as he fluffs his shot from a low cross. He swipes at thin air under no pressure.

That must feel like running into a rock.

YELLOW CARD

Germany 0-0 Poland

Jerome Boateng is one of the best tacklers in the game but he gets this one wrong as he clatters into Arkadisuz Milik. Out comes the yellow card as Milik gets his breath back. Winded by that one.

SUBSTITUTION

Germany 0-0 Poland

Toni Kroos tries his luck from distance but the shot is always rising and no danger to Poland keeper Lukasz Fabianski's goal.

Germany then make their first chance as Martio Gotze who, despite managing a shot on target, was largely ineffectual, and on comes Andre Schurrle.

Everything is still going down that left side for Germany. Thomas Muller, on the other side of the pitch, watches on in frustration as another attack breaks down.

Andre Schurrle is about to come on.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Another chance for Poland as Robert Lewandowski races away but Jerome Boateng produces a peach of a tackle to snuff out the chance.

Boateng really is a wonderful footballer.

Germany 0-0 Poland

Inventive stuff from Poland as they win a free-kick 30 yards from goal. Robert Lewandowski stands over it, shaping up to shoot but then backheels it for Arkadiusz Milik, who bends the ball round the side of the wall but into the sidenetting.

Mike W: Why is it everyone except Low can see that Gotze isn't a striker?

Vincent Krans: Germany at times resembling Arsenal, just trying to pass it through the oppositions defence one pass too many.

Tom Newman: Poland to beat the Germans tonight then N Ireland to knock them out in their next game...heard it here first

Nervous? Nein

Germany 0-0 Poland

Jens Lehmann

Even though it's still goalless, I don't think we are getting nervous. The only doubt I have some of the players cannot stay fresh for 90 minutes.

Kamil Grosicki is booked as he prevents Julian Draxler from launching a German counter attack.

Has there been a standout team so far in this tournament? If there has, it hasn't been Germany. Industrious rather than silky on the ball and they are again patiently trying to search for an opening.
