Cup final time

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

That is all from me. A big day for Tottenham, who are two points behind the leaders and now three ahead of third-placed Arsenal.

What now, you may ask? Well, if I was you I'd get yourself over to our League Cup final live text. Go on, go. Now. You're missing it.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "It was hard because from the beginning we conceded chances and Swansea scored. Sometimes football is difficult. You play well but find it hard to score. The good thing is that the team fight. We shoot a lot of times and I am pleased after Thursday we have produced another big game. It is a fantastic win.

"Fabianski was great. He was man of the match.

"It is true that today our support was fantastic. They lifted the team and always gave them belief. I thank them for that. We all appreciate their support.

"Our mentality is to look to the next game and go step by step. Now we need to focus again. We have a strong squad and we will try to manage it in the right way."

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

And here is the top of the Premier League table, which is looking pretty good for Spurs...

.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Swansea coach Alan Curtis: "Spurs are a really good side. You see the pace and the power and technical ability. We got in front and created a couple of decent opportunities but the pressure was relentless. We almost got something but it wasn't quite enough.

"All credit to our players for sticking in. We defended as a team but it is always difficult against a team who come again and again.

"Fabianski made some fantastic saves. We thought maybe it would one of those days when we would ride our luck. Lukasz kept us in the game for a long time."

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

The average positions tells you everything about the balance of play in the game...

Swansea had two outfield players in the Tottenham half, Spurs had two outplayers players in their own half.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier: "The crowd have been really behind us this year. We deserved the win with the way we played. Apart from the goal, Swansea didn't really have a chance.

"It shows our character and how far we have come. We showed maturity, stayed calm, and played how we did from the beginning. It was a case of being patient.

"Arsenal losing is good news for us but we are working hard for us and not worrying about other teams."

Comeback kings

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

17 - Tottenham have now won 17 points from losing positions in the Premier League this season – the most in the Premier League. Character.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

That is a huge result for Tottenham. I said right at the start that title-winning teams dig out big results when they needed and Spurs have done that to pass a major test.

The same cannot be said of Arsenal, who have just lost 3-2 at Manchester United.

It has been a big day in the title race.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Gylfi Sigurdsson goes for glory but his effort clips the wall and goes out for a corner, which the same player delivers and is headed away by Danny Rose at the near post.

Five minutes are going to be added. Still plenty of time for the scoreline to change.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

This game is not over yet. Swansea have a free-kick 30 yards from the Spurs goal...

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Ryan Mason gathers a poor clearance on the edge of the box but curls his following shot wide of the goal. Cue another Swansea substitution as Swans goalscorer Alberto Paloschi is replaced by Modou Barrow.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Tottenham look to seal the win but Christian Eriksen's free-kick floats straight through to Lukasz Fabianski. We are into the last five minutes.

SUBSTITUTION

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

On comes striker Bafetimbi Gomis to try and rescue a result for Swansea. He replaces Ki Sung-yueng. Tottenham also make another change, allowing Harry Kane to whip off his face mask as he makes way for Josh Onomah.

"Can we have a competition? Not save of the season, or even save of the month, but save of this game? There have been five absolutely outstanding saves today. Both keepers have been superb."

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Swansea force another save from Hugo Lloris, who drops to one knee to stop a shot from Andre Ayew.

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Goal! Game over! No... the flag is up! It is a great breakaway from Spurs, which ends with Harry Kane squaring the ball for Kyle Walker to tap in, but the defender is offside and it remains 2-1. Still hope for Swansea.

GREAT SAVE!

Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Tottenham have the scoreline they require now. So what can Swansea do to now get back in to this game? Well, they can attack, which is exactly what they do. Hugo Lloris is forced to make his first save for a long time to deny Alberto Paloschi.

"The problem for Swansea was that they have been defending deeper and deeper. It is no surprise that Tottenham are ahead. Psychologically, Francesco Guidolin's team look ruined. Is there anything he can do to turn this around now?"

GOAL - Tottenham 2-1 Swansea

Danny Rose

It's in! Tottenham have turned it around! A corner is only half cleared and falls to Danny Rose, who takes a touch and hammers in a shot that goes under the diving Lukasz Fabianski and in. Two goals in eight minutes for the home side. Two massive goals.

A change for each side. Ryan Mason replaces Son Heung-min for Tottenham, while Swansea send on Leroy Fer for Leon Britton.

CLOSE!

Tottenham 1-1 Swansea

Tottenham are going in for the kill now. They pour forward in numbers but Nacer Chadli is only able to poke a shot past the post from inside the box.

GREAT SAVE!

Tottenham 1-1 Swansea

Whatever the result of this game, it can take nothing away from the display of Lukasz Fabianski. Tottenham would be out of sight were it not for the keeper, who makes another superb diving save to palm away a 30-yard Christian Eriksen shot.

Pat Nevin

Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"What a great substitution by the manager! Fabianski should have caught the initial ball rather than tried to catch it. But Tottenham have equalised through doing what I said they needed to do - take a pot-shot from distance and see what happens. Kyle Walker's shot wasn't going in, but Nacer Chadli was alert."

GOAL - Tottenham 1-1 Swansea

Nacer Chadli

The pressure tells! And it is the substitute Nacer Chadli who has come to Spurs rescue. A corner, brought around by another superb save from Lukasz Fabianski is headed to Kyle Walker on the opposite side of the box and his low drive is diverted in by Chadli. White Hart Lane erupts in a mixture of delight and utter relief.

This time, Alberto Paloschi  hammers Eriksen's corner away from the box. Spurs are lacking any quality in and around the box.

Tottenham are frantically turning the screw. Kyle Walker gets in round the back but his cross from the right is blocked. Then Dele Alli has a shot deflected behind for a corner...

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

Lukasz Fabianski is into double figures for saves as he dives low to comfortably stop a Christian Eriksen shot from 30 yards.

Soon after, Eric Dier drives an effort wide of the post from range.

SUBSTITUTION

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

This is no surprise. On comes Nacer Chadli for the increasingly marginalised Erik Lamela.

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

There is so little space near the Swansea box in which Tottenham can play. The away team are camped in numbers and so far it has provided an obstacle that the home side have been unable to clear. 30 minutes left. 30 big minutes for both of these sides for very different reasons.

CLOSE!

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

Oh, close! Christian Eriksen fires the free-kick round the wall but also a yard past the far post.

YELLOW CARD

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

Rose and Ayew are at it again, but this time it is the latter fouling the former right on the edge of the box. This is a useful free-kick for the home side.

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

Danny Rose looks to slide in and clear the ball away from Andre Ayew on the touchline but fells the forward who falls on his face. That's gonna smart a bit. It also gives the Swans defence a bit of a rest. It also earns Rose a booking.

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

Lukasz Fabianski is having some game. He reaches up to claw away another effort on goal, this time from 30 yards from Harry Kane. The resulting corner is met by Dele Alli but gathered by the Swansea keeper.

As a former Arsenal player, you suspect Fabianski will be enjoying this.

Tottenham 0-1 SWansea

Pat Nevin

Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"The problem Tottenham have got is that Swansea are very well set. Swansea's defensive line is 20 yards in front of their goalkeeper, and there are nine players there at times. Spurs are probably going to need a pot-shot to find a way through. At the moment, they are trying to play their way through, and it's so difficult.

GREAT SAVE!

Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

It comes as no surprise to find the red parts of the Swansea heatmap (right) are all in their own half and mainly in their own box.

It gets a tiny bit redder as Christian Eriksen's free-kick towards the near post draws another good one-handed save from Lukasz Fabianski, who scoops the ball away.
