FULL-TIME

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

That was a decent second period and Norwich fans, don't give in yet, there was plenty of guts on show.

Blame the referee? Lee Mason did not help the home side in the opening period but goals early and late in the first half proved too big a mountain for Norwich to climb.

I'll leave you for now. Take a look at the match report for more analysis by clicking here.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Timm Klose gets forward and will smash one from 25 yards, it's over and surely this game is too.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

In comes the corner to the back post, header.... palmed away by Thibaut Courtois. It was tame as bodies descended on the away goal. A melee.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Thibaut Courtois thumps one down field. Back come Norwich, Nathan Redmond has been superb and commits defenders, onto his left foot, deflection, wide.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

The seconds tick away, we are deep in the Chelsea half but nothing is dropping to a home shirt.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea will kick themselves if they do not win this. There will be a fair bit of time added. Diego Costa is well placed as Cesc Fabregas picks him out, he slides an effort wide. It was a tired attempt.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Norwich are digging in an Nathan Redmond fizzes into the side netting from 20 yards.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas into the box, Norwich have committed men forward. He will cross but it's cleared. Chelsea come again, Eden Hazard can hit one from 18 yards but elects not to. They are caught between stick or twist...

Did you know...

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea have spent every Monday since the 10 August in the bottom half of the table. That could be about to change, they are heading up to eighth.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Ouch, yuck, that's very ugly indeed. A clash of heads as Gary O'Neil clatters into Robbie Brady. O'Neil runs down the tunnel and there will have to be a change here as he will need stitches. Brady's cut is not as bad, it's his lips only.

It looks like Graham Dorrans is being asked to get ready. O'Neil had a large cut on his forehead.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Gary O'Neil gets forward and will hit one from 20 yards. He goes across the keeper... GOOD HIT... wide. Close though.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

"Come in City, come on City."

The home crowd want action. Instead they see Timm Klose booked for a foul on Diego Costa and the Spain striker is in no rush to get up.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

Robbie Brady has a dig from 25 yards and Cameron Jerome tries to flick the ball away from Thibaut Courtois but he cannot get enough on it. Saved.

YELLOW CARD

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

More positive stuff from Nathan Redmond draws a foul from Cesc Fabregas and a booking. The delivery comes in, great punch from Thibaut Courtois a full 12 yards from his goal.

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea

This is a key few minutes, Norwich need to ride this wave and push for every inch with the crowd in fine voice. Can they shake Chelsea? A flurry of blows is needed after that Nathan Redmond strike...

GOAL

Norwich 1-2 Chelsea - Nathan Redmond

HANG ON A MINUTE.

This looked dead and then with one clever Wes Hoolahan pass we have magic, we have fireworks, we have belief running through the stadium.

Nathan Redmond did not break stride to run onto it and lash right footed high into the net.

We have a finish on our hands here...

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

Gary O'Neil with the cross, Branislav Ivanovic does not need to move to head clear. Chelsea now have Nemanja Matic and John Obi Mikel shielding the back four, surely this side cannot be penetrated twice.

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

It's professional stuff now from Chelsea. Guus Hiddink has them well drilled and they look like they will close this out. Little threat from the home side, Chelsea in third gear.

Remember this result will put Norwich where they really do not want to be - the bottom three.

Sunderland will be in there too for now, they've just fallen 2-1 down.

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

Timm Klose is hobbling for Norwich and will have to go some to see this match out.

SUBSTITUTION

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

That's that for Bertrand Traore, he has an assist to his name and Willian is on. John Obil Mikel is in for Oscar too.

Dieumerci Mbokani will offer Norwich a direct route, Ryan Bennett is off so it's striker for defender.

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas has seen more ball than anyone else - 67 touches.

He's been neat and tidy to keep Chelsea ticking over. In all, seven of his 52 passes have found the target.

A lot of the Spaniard's passes have been forward too, not safety first stuff.

Fabregas
.

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

It's just not happening for Norwich as Nathan Redmond tries to burst through the away defence but his touch runs for a goal kick.

HITS THE WOODWORK

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

Alex Neil, head in hands, who can blame him?

As Russell Martin heads the ball back into the six-yard box Cameron Jerome volleys left footed onto the top of the bar. He has to score, simply has to score.

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

This to me looks like the moment this contest ended. No flag from the linesman (there should have been), keeper goes down to make Diego Costa's mind up for him.

CLOSE!

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

Probably the best opening of the night for Norwich and Cameron Jerome needs to take these. He peels to the back post smartly and Gary O'Neil swings in a cross. It's a volley - though under pressure - and it's wide. Only eight yards out.

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

Cesar Azpilicueta pierces the Norwich back four, nice slide-rule pass, too much mustard on it and Diego Costa will not catch that.

KICK-OFF

Here we go then, what have you got Norwich...

Ruben staying put

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Norwich are unable to field Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford tonight. The 22-year-old joined Chelsea in 2012 but has never played in a game of meaning.

Perhaps it's refreshing then that the Stamford Bridge club have put more faith in talented 20-year-old Ruben Loftus-Cheek by giving him a new five-year deal.

"The club have done so much for me since I started here as an Under-8," said Loftus-Cheek.

"Now I want to repay the faith they've shown in me with my performances on the pitch."

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

12 - Diego Costa has scored or assisted 12 goals in his last 10 Premier League appearances (eight goals, four assists). Mask.

He was offside, so we won't be too harsh on Norwich. From here it looks a little too easy.

HALF-TIME

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea

"You're not fit to referee," comes the cry.

You can see their point. Chelsea seemed to get a lot of the 50-50 calls and of course, that last one is key as Diego Costa was offside for sure.

GOAL

Norwich 0-2 Chelsea - Diego Costa

Diego Costa
Reuters

Just as I was writing Norwich had been gutsy, Diego Costa surely seals this before the break. He runs onto a through ball from Bertrand Traore and dinks the ball over John Ruddy as he rushes out.

Replays will be interesting.... he was offside by half a yard. The protests fall on deaf ears and the man wearing a protective mask celebrates. Good finish, harsh on the home side. I'd say game over. Can they prove me wrong?

YELLOW CARD

Norwich 0-1 Chelsea

Norwich fans sing
Reuters

"HOORRAAYYYYY". The home fans scream as Oscar is booked for a hack (it really was a hack from behind) on Jonny Howson.

Norwich 0-1 Chelsea

More angst from the home fans aimed at referee Lee Mason. Wes Hoolahan does not get the free-kick he wants, cue a roar of disapproval.

Norwich 0-1 Chelsea

Guus Hiddink said before kick-off he hoped his side did not lose focus in this game, with minds potentially on the Champions League. It's been solid from Chelsea and as Norwich raid forward with a threatening look, Gary Cahill is perfectly placed in the area to cut out a cross.

CLOSE!

Norwich 0-1 Chelsea

The home fans are incensed and rightly so as replays show Thibaut Courtois picked up a blatant backpass a few moments ago.

There's little room for feeling sorry for yourselves in this game though and Chelsea almost double the lead, Cesc Fabregas crosses a free-kick which almost goes in, a good parry from John Ruddy.

YELLOW CARD

Norwich 0-1 Chelsea

John Ruddy is lightning to leg it from his goal and slide at the feet of Diego Costa on the angle of the area. Costa was an inch from poking the ball past the stopper. Into the book goes Ryan Bennett, foul on Eden Hazard who ran at his man to commit the foul.
