Good evening.

I'm going to sign off. Please join us again on Tuesday for live coverage of the Premiership and Scottish Cup matches.

So, two absorbing Scottish fixtures this afternoon with 10-man Aberdeen beating Ross County in the Scottish Premiership at lunchtime and Championship pair Falkirk and Hibernian drawing later in the day.

Honours even

Hibs certainly finished the better of the two sides so Falkirk may be happier with the point but the Bairns had a good spell either side of half-time.

Luke Leahy and Jason Cummings

FULL-TIME Falkirk 1-1 Hibernian

It ends all square at the Falkirk Stadium and both sides now trail Scottish Championship leaders Rangers by five points.

Falkirk still lead Hibs on goal difference.

Desperate defending from Falkirk as they block efforts by Jason Cummings and Fraser Fyvie.

Three minutes of stoppage time begin.

Craig Sibbald tries to put Falkirk back in front, and that would be against the run of play, but Craig Sibbald's shot is straightforward enough for Mark Oxley to deal with.

Terrific chance for Jason Cummings to put Hibs ahead but his powerful shot on the half-volley is blocked by Danny Rogers.

Will Vaulks draws a foul from Paul Hanlon and the Hibs defender is cautioned.

Darren McGregor heads a Hibs corner towards goal and Danny Rogers is well placed to make the save.

Falkirk's Aaron Muirhead is booked for an off-the-ball tussle with Fraser Fyvie.

"Hibs deserve that equaliser on the strength of the pressure they've been exerting on the Falkirk defence in the last 10 or 15 minutes.

"Will  these sides settle for a point apiece or will they go all out in the closing stages for a winner?"

GOAL Falkirk 1-1 Hibernian (Cummings)

Jason Cummings follows in for the tap-in after Danny Rogers makes an excellent save to deny Darren McGregor. All level again.

Conor McGrandles, back on loan at Falkirk from Norwich City, comes on for the Bairns in place of Lee Miller.

A couple of near things for Hibs as Jason Cummings' dangerous cross is deflected out, then Dylan McGeouch's shot flashes wide.

Hibs substitute Liam Henderson tries to turn things around for the visitors with a run down their left but he overhits the cross towards Fraser Fyvie at the back post.

Around 25 minutes left to play.

There were penalty appeals from some visiting fans after Hibs' John McGinn stumbled in the wake of a challenge by Luke Leahy but the midfielder got back to his feet and tried, unsuccessfully, to get a decent shot away.

"That superb Blair Alston goal has certainly changed the dynamic of this match.

"Falkirk look energised as they look to extend an 11-game unbeaten run. Hibs' response will be intriguing."

John Baird's glancing header from Blair Alston's cross flashes across the face of goal.

This is a good spell for Falkirk.

How will Hibs respond? They trailed to Falkirk a few weeks ago at Easter Road and fought back to claim a point.

It was the composure we've been screaming for in the match so far and Blair Alston did absolutely brilliantly

GOAL Falkirk 1-0 Hibernian (Alston)

The hosts have taken the initiative and now they have the lead.

John Baird flicks a nice pass through to Blair Alston, who controls superbly, sidesteps his man and calmly slots past Mark Oxley.

Falkirk press again at the start of the second half and a chipped shot from Lee Miller is tipped over by goalkeeper Mark Oxley.

Alasdair Lamont

BBC Sport Scotland at the Falkirk Stadium

"A very cagey first half. We didn't get a shot on target until the final minute of the half and though there has been some neat football from either side, both have lacked the craft to engineer any genuine goalscoring opportunities."

HALF-TIME Falkirk 0-0 Hibernian

Not much to report from that first half. A couple of long-range efforts and one or two other half-chances but it's a stalemate at the break.
