Goodbye

What a match! Three goals, two red cards...this was a full blooded top of the table encounter in Spain. Barcelona still have to meet Real Madrid but Luis Enrique's side are on course to add La Liga to the Fifa Club World Cup and Uefa Super Cup they won earlier in the season. And they are still going strong in the Champions League and Copa del Rey. Can anyone stop them?

A full match report will appear on the BBC Sport website. Many thanks for your company.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

It will be interesting to hear Diego Simeone's comments. His side self destructed and now face a huge task to stop Barcelona from winning the title. Real Madrid, third in the table and seven points behind Barca, are at home to Espanyol on Sunday.

Don Bellucci Jibola: Guess this game is over, Enrique can order for a glass of wine. Is the title race over, close but not yet.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

No sign of Atletico getting an equaliser. If anything, Barca look more likely to get a third.

Three minutes of additional time.

Another Barca chance....Messi tees up Suarez for a curling shot on the edge of the box, but it flashes a yard over the bar.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Nine shots to six in Barca's favour as well as 70% possession against their nearest title rivals. It's been a good day for the European champions.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Messi at his magic best...he's teasing Atletico's defenders as he tries to create space for himself to get a shot away but Juanfran just manages to block the cross.

Talleyrand: Atletico Madrid just ruined a nice game by hitting the self destruct button.

Christian Norde: Godin should have known better to come in like that...

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Atletico have done remarkable well to keep out Messi, Suarez and Neymar since going down to nine men. Most teams would have caved in. The visitors are showing remarkable resistance as Barca mount attack after attack.

One way traffic. And so it should be with Atletico down to nine men. The visitors lose another man...but, thankfully, it's not a third red. Augusto Fernandez leaves on a stretcher clutching his left thigh.

CLOSE!

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Substitute Arda Turan goes within a whisker of scoring against his former club after getting a shot away from the edge of the area. Would he have celebrated had that gone in?

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Wave after wave of Barcelona attacks. Neymar has yet to join the party but there is still time for the Brazil forward to find the net.

SUBSTITUTION

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Barcelona are looking to rub salt into Diego Simeone's wounds by sending on Arda Turan, signed from Atletico last summer. The Turkey midfielder gets a rousing welcome from 90,000-plus home fans.

Courtney Brown: I'm a Barcelona fan but things are a bit ridiculous now. Not interesting against nine men.

John McEnerney: If this stays as it is La Liga is over, domestic double for sure. Another treble? Only Bayern on their best night might stop FCB.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Will Atletico's discipline cost them the title? That was another ridiculous challenge. Surely Diego Simeone is not going to come out and defend Filipe Luis and Diego Godin afterwards.

Atletico down to nine men

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Atletico have pressed the self destruct button again. A mindless challenge by Diego Godin on countryman Luis Suarez just outside the Atletico penalty area near the corner flag results in the Uruguay defender being shown a red card.

That must be the end of Atletico's chances of a comeback.

RED CARD - Diego Godín (Atletico Madrid)

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

The worst thing that could have happened to Barcelona was the half-time whistle. Having ended the half dominating their opponents, the hosts have yet to get going. A substitution is required to shake things up.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Remarkably, ten-men Atletico are the better team at the moment. Carrasco has been the best player on the pitch today.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico

A few more inches to the right by Griezmann and the 10 men of Atletico would have been level. But take nothing away from Bravo, that was a fine block.

GREAT SAVE!

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

This isn't over. A powerful run by Yannick Carrasco, who drives at the Barca defence, is brought to an end inside the area by Gerard Pique before he can pull the trigger. Then a cross is whipped in for an unmarked Antoine Griezmann who looks certain to score from eight yards out but Claudio Bravo's trailing leg saves Barca.

Mfreke Smith: Story of this season. Teams don't learn. Come out of the block with break-neck pace, get tired, points goes to Barca.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Scrappy start to the new half. Barca continue to dominate possession while Atletico are packing their defence. It's going to require something very special for the visitors to get back into this.

SUBSTITUTION

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid make a change at the start of the second half. On comes Jesus Gamez for Gabi. Damage limitation?

KICK-OFF

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Barca scored a total of 18 goals in their previous four league games at the Nou Camp. How many will they rattle up against the 10 men of Atletico? We're back under way.

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Barca are heading three points clear at the top of La Liga with a game to spare as it stands but there is only one talking point after that half...

No arguments with the Filipe Luis red card but huge shame for the game. Killed the outcome, Barca's points now.

Ayo Obit: Career-threatening knee tackle by Felipe Luis there. Could have been a lot worse!

Stuart Mitchell: t is challenges like that one on Messi, that i think life bans should be introduced for potentially career ending challenges.

Brian Shereni: I might as well be cocky and dare anyone bet against Barca retaining the league.

HALF-TIME - Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

What a match. Atletico made the perfect start thanks to Koke and appeared in control until a disastrous final 15 minutes which has put Barcelona within sight of going three points clear at the top of the table with one game in hand over their rivals.

RED CARD - Filipe Luís (Atletico)

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

Atletico's afternoon goes from bad to worse. An outrageous challenge by Brazil international Filipe Luis on Lionel Messi results in the visitors being reduced to 10 men. That was awful by the defender and home boss Luis Enrique shows his anger at the departing player as he makes his way off.

Atletico's defence has been impressive all season but they have been undone by twice in the space of eight minutes at the Nou Camp.

Perfect finish by Suarez

Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid

This game has turned completely on its head. It's a brilliant finish from Luis Suarez from the tightest of angles to notch his 19th league goal of the campaign after springing Atletico's offside trap following Dani Alves' terrific pass over the top.

Barcelona 1-1 Atletico Madrid

That's only the ninth goal Atletico have conceded in La Liga this season while Barca have now scored 72 times in all competitions. The mood inside the Nou Camp has completely changed.

Messi equalises for Barca

Barcelona 1-1 Atletico Madrid

That's more like it from the European champions.

Moments after Luis Suarez forces a save from Jan Oblak, Lionel Messi comes to his side's rescue with a composed finish from inside the area after a pull-back from Jordi Alba.
