That's it for this game then but the Europa League train chugs on with Liverpool versus Manchester United, and Daniel Sturridge has just given the hosts the lead...

Join my colleague Tom Rostance for that game here.

I'm not so sure Dortmund had to suffer much in that game, Thomas...

'I am happy with our domination'

Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BT Sport: ""We played confident, we managed to keep the space very tight. We attacked Tottenham very early and did not allow them to come into our half. There was a lot of speed in the game in the first half and in the second half we were able to move up higher and dominate completely. I am very happy with the performance.

"It is a very hard-working team I have. We adapt to the strength of the opponent. We had to suffer and we made Tottenham suffer and I am very happy with the domination of the performance.

"I am almost sure we will need it all again at Tottenham. It will be a tight game again."

'We had a very bad day'

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BT Sport: "It is difficult to explain but a bad day and I'm disappointed with our performance. We did not play well. That is why we lost the game.

"We need to fight in the return leg next week. Three nil is not a good result for us but we still need to keep working hard and try next Thursday.

"This was our first time losing 3-0 this season. We need to be calm and be sure it doesn't happen again."

'It is going to be tough for us'

Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer, speaking to BT Sport: "We are very disappointed with the performance. Against a team like Dortmund you can't play like this. We did not press them well.

"It would have been very good for us if we had got one goal here. Now we have to score three at White Hart Lane. If we get an early goal in the next game and put them under a lot of pressure you never know but it is going to be tough for us."

Liverpool v Man Utd under way

Meanwhile, it's a brilliant atmosphere at Anfield as Liverpool versus Manchester United gets under way.

Eyobele: Dortmund's coach showing Pochettino how to do a rotation! You kill the game then you rest your top players!

Even the travelling Tottenham fans couldn't help but applaud the Borussia Dortmund players off the pitch at the end.

It will be interesting to see what Mauricio Pochettino has to say about the game. His reaction coming up shortly.

Lee, Glos: Why is anyone surprised about the rotation? Spurs did the same in the FA Cup which was a more realistic target. The league is their priority and their squad is not good enough to win multiple trophies...yet! Give Poch a transfer window where he can spend big money (remember he made profits over the last 2 seasons) and Spurs will be very dangerous. Let's also acknowledge that Dortmund are a genuinely brilliant side and would batter most premier league first teams.

No shame in losing to that Dortmund side, they were fantastic.

What might be a bit of a concern for Tottenham fans is that they have not won any of their previous three games, losing two of them.

Just a blip?

Sitting next to me, @alibruceball has just called them the best team he's seen live this season. Barca apart, I'd agree.

Elsewhere in Europe

Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk were pegged back to 2-1 by Anderlecht of Belgium but restored their two-goal cushion through former Arsenal striker Eduardo. At 3-1 after the first leg, is it tie over already?

Fenerbahce grabbed a late winner at home to Sporting Braga of Portugal - not Robin van Persie but defensive midfielder Mehmet Topal with the game's only goal.

And in the evening's other early kick-off, defending champions Sevilla drew 0-0 away to Swiss club Basel.

"It could well have been five. Dortmund did not disappoint - some of their football was fantastic to watch, and their third goal was one of the best you will see this season."

FULL-TIME

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham

All over and a deserved win for Dortmund.

Lots of work to do for Tottenham.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham

Up goes the fourth official's board with three minutes on it. Kieran Tripper is on a tricky run towards the area, appears to be fouled by Mats Hummels but again nothing given.

Still, Spurs are pressing a bit here.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham

Party time for the home fans. They may as well start thinking about getting 7 April booked off. If Tottenham don't get an away goal, it is hard to see Dortmund not reaching the quarter-finals.

A great burst of pace from Joshua Onomah and he charges towards the area only to run into Mats Hummels leg. Surely a foul on the edge of the area? Nothing given. Tottenham can count themselves a bit unlucky there.

John Madrid: Rotation aside Spurs heading for third disappointing result in a row. Form and confidence could be going at wrong time.

Tony, Leeds: What is it with our Premier League teams? Awash with TV money and none seem capable of seriously competing on more than one front. It's embarrassing.

SUBSTITUTION

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham

Relief for Tottenham as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang goes off. He's been excellent tonight and deservedly gets a standing ovation. On comes Shinji Kagawa.

Worrying for Spurs, Dortmund want more goals. Spurs can't get the ball at the moment.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham

A free-kick for Tottenham on the right flank. Send the defenders up. Heck, send Hugo Lloris up. Erik Lamela curls the ball into the area, the Spurs players rush in but Roman Weidenfeller makes the catch.

Manchester United old boy Shinji Kagawa is about to be introduced for the hosts.

What's more it's only really English teams that do it. Not exactly working in Europe, is it?

Watching Spurs getting spanked by Dortmund makes you realise that rotating your team rarely works.

SUBSTITUTION

Off goes Son Heung-min and on comes Harry Kane. He's got 15 minutes to muster up some magic and grab an away goal that would keep Tottenham in this tie.

"This hasn't happened to Spurs yet this season. They haven't been taken apart and given a real beating. They could well get one here...

"The whole stadium is bouncing. The Dortmund fans are really enjoying what we're seeing here."

Barefoot Backpacker: By the sound of it, I'm not convinced even a full-strength Spurs side would have stood a chance here. Kudos to Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham

It hasn't gone well for Tottenham, but Dortmund have been a joy to watch tonight. Composed, neat passing and quick on the attack. A brilliant footballing side.

Harry Kane is about to come on. Can he rescue an away goal for Tottenham?

Two early goals saw Shakhtar Donetsk race ahead against Anderlecht but the Belgians have pulled one back - a crucial away goal to make it 2-1 in Ukraine.

In the evening's two other earlier kick-offs, Basel and defending champions Sevilla are goalless, and it's goalless in Istanbul too, where Robin van Persie's Fenerbahce are hosting Sporting Braga of Portugal.

"That was goal of the season. The way they sliced through Spurs, from the first pass by the centre-back.. it's the best goal I've seen this year. Beautiful football from Dortmund and that might just wrap up this tie."

GOAL - Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham

Marco Reus

Game over.

Borussia Dortmund firmly put one foot into the last eight as Marco Reus grabs his second. A fine, sweeping move ends with him side-footing home from Gonzalo Castro's cross inside the area.

Mauricio Pochettino takes a swig of his water and hunches back in his seat. It hasn't gone well for him tonight.

YELLOW CARD

Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Tottenham

Erik Lamela's first contribution to the game is to be booked for a late challenge. He's a bit unlucky, though, having tried to pull out of it.

SUBSTITUTION

Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Tottenham

A second change for Tottenham as Christian Eriksen is replaced by Erik Lamela.

Lamela is the second highest scorer in this season's Europa League with six goals. Spurs could do with him adding to that tally tonight.

Sanj: Very disappointing from Spurs and Poch. Waved the white flag before kick off. When will our sides show some respect to the Europa League?

Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Tottenham

If Tottenham go on to win the Premier League, there will be no complaints with Mauricio Pochettino's team selection tonight but I can't help feel he should have at least given it a go in this game. This was a great chance to see just how far Tottenham have come against one of the most in-form sides in Europe.

Still, a goal for Spurs will change things. May as well throw caution to the wind.

"Marco Reus appears totally unmarked at the back post and absolutely smashes it into the roof of the net on the volley. Spurs are really up against it now.

Immediate impact by substitute Neven Subotic as he heads on Marcel Schmelzer's cross following a short corner and Maroc Reus volleys in at the far post. Too easy, and a massive task for Tottenham now.

SUBSTITUTION

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino opts to swell the Tottenham midfield to help nullify the Borussia Dortmund attack, bringing on Mousa Dembele for Nacer Chadli.

Dortmund also make a change as Neven Subotic comes on for Sven Bender, who looks to have picked up a bit of a knock.

Smart play by the Borussia Dortmund defence. Tottenham steal possession deep inside their own half and look to start a quick counter but just as the ball is played forward, Sven Bender and Mats Hummels immediately move to leave Son Heung-min standing offside.

Adam Reid: Getting visions of Inter v Spurs in CL group stages. Undone away before wiping the floor with them at WHL. Tie not over...

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Tottenham

"It looked like Sven Bender was almost pinning down Son Heung-min, but the Spurs striker only went to ground once the ball was trickling out of play. I think a penalty would have been a harsh decision."
