Sonjahaha: Jumped up & down on my squeaky hotel bed, punching the cushions, cheering; sorry neighbours... Oh & alarm set 5am for work!

Wale: Next season will be more interesting and exciting in EPL with Pep, Klopp locking horns. who knows Jose might be coming in too?

The holders are through

Sevilla win on penalties

Kevin Gameiro steps up and blasts into the top corner and Sevilla - who have won the Europa League for the last two years - are through.

I've never seen this before - there is a scuffle in the centre circle mid shootout!

I think I can answer this. The most teams any country can have in the Champions League is FIVE.

So in the scenario below the team who finished fourth in the league would miss out.

If Liverpool win the Europa League and City win the Champions League but finish 5th, does that mean we would have 6 English clubs in the Champions League next season?!!

No misses in the first four kicks in the shootout...

Actually, there have been a few better comebacks from the Cobblers this season alone.

But I digress...

'You get carried away'

Liverpool 4-3 Dortmund (Agg: 5-4)

Ian Dennis

BBC Radio 5 live senior football reporter

"It was a privilege to commentate on. A night that will live with me forever. You can't help but get carried away. You get sucked in. It was  a stunning game."

'I can't explain it'

Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel: "I can't explain it, it was not logical. It was very emotional. At the end at 3-3 everyone here believed it was meant to be, it was destiny.

"If you have such a strong belief then things can happen. We had a goal and we have not achieved it. Sport is about wining and we did not make it. You have to accept it and be an honourable loser so congratulations to Liverpool. You have to take defeat like a champion."

'Touches of Shankly'

Mark Lawrenson

Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

"When Jurgen Klopp was appointed everyone in England thought it was a great job. There's touches of Shankly in there. He's a really, really good fit and he has raised this average team."

Well that Dejan Lovren has scuppered our chances of an early cut. What does it mean for you.

A recap

Liverpool 4-3 Dortmund (Agg: 5-4)

Liverpool made a terrible start as Henrikh Mkhitaryan and then Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored inside nine minutes! Liverpool needed three goals.

The game looked dead even then. Divock Origi poked one back in the first few minutes of the second half but Marco Reus swept in a classy third for the German side.

But Philippe Coutinho hit a low shot home, Mamadou Sakho headed in from a corner and then DEJAN LOVREN won it. Right at the end.

What a night.

Extra-time being played in the match between Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao.

But we know that Shakhtar Donetsk and Villarreal are, like Liverpool, into the last four after both teams scored six goals over the two legs.

Anything for Liverpool to fear?

From a wider perspective, best thing about #LFCBVB is it may make more English teams realise the Europa League is worth taking seriously.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on BT Sport: "It is difficult to explain. A wonderful, wonderful night at Anfield and to be honest the game was strange.

"When we brought Daniel Sturridge and Joe Allen on we gave them the message, 'we have to show character.' I don't care if we lose, we have to show them and we did even more. This is European football at its best. It's hard to believe. Congratulations to all of the lads.

"At half-time it's difficult to stay brave but we agreed that the we had to go the hard way. It is a game that all fans - even not of Liverpool or Dortmund - can say, OK, football is a nice game."

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho: "The most important thing was the team played with heart and the fans never leave us. It's a win for the Liverpool country."

Sometimes, football is just brilliant isn't it?

It doesn't matter who you support, what you do, even if you are really a football fan - nights like that are special.
