Swansea 1-1 Man City

Steve Claridge

Ex-Leicester striker at the Liberty Stadium for BBC Radio 5 Live

"City deserved that. I don’t think anyone would begrudge them that fourth place. They did what they had to do and didn’t take their opportunities.

"They controlled the last 20 minutes, worked hard and applied themselves. They were thoroughly professional."

FULL-TIME

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Barring a Manchester United miracle, that is job done for Man City. They should be in the Champions League next season.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Man City are almost there. Seconds remain...

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Yaya Toure gets the last few minutes, in place of Sergio Aguero. This could be his last few minutes in a City shirt.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Man City are digging in. No inch given. There will be a minimum of three added minutes.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Man City aren't in a hurry to do anything now. They are trying to drain every second they can.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Manchester City are still just one mad moment away from disaster but they are keeping hold of the ball well. It is all about calculated risk now. They would love another goal, but the threat of conceding means they can't be too adventurous.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Bacary Sagna is up and able to continue. He is still grimacing but that is big improvement on the ominous way he dropped to the turf after twisting that knee.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

This looks nasty. Bacary Sagna is in a lot of pain after twisting his left knee while attempting to make a tackle. In the meantime, Swansea take off Jefferson Montero and send on Bafétimbi Gomis.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Ten minutes to go. Manchester City have the point they need to all but seal Champions League football. But all it needs is a Swansea goal to ruin everything.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

"He may have had a mixed time at Manchester City since signing last year, but Wilfried Bony is still a big hit with Swansea City fans.

"As the former Swans striker warms up, the home fans are applauding the Ivorian and chanting his name.

"They’re also telling Bony the visiting City fans “don’t sing your name” in what might be an attempt to convince the 27-year-old to return to south Wales."

Swansea 1-1 Man City

A Man City goal would really settle some ever-growing nerves for the visitors. They have a corner but De Bruyne completely wastes it by swinging the ball over everyone and out for a goal-kick.

YELLOW CARD

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Leon Britton slides in on Kevin de Bruyne and is shown Swansea's first yellow card.

Steve Claridge

Ex-Leicester striker at the Liberty Stadium for BBC Radio 5 Live

"It will only take one mistake from City or one moment of brilliance from Swansea. City are in desperate need of that balance between getting a goal but giving nothing away."

SUBSTITUTION

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Iheanacho is off and replaced by Samir Nasri.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Kelechi Iheanacho should have scored a boat-load today. He has another chance after charging to edge of the box but slips at the vital moment and scoops his shot high and wide. It will be the striker's last act of the season...

Swansea 1-1 Man City

It doesn't go in. It is swung over but headed clear by a Man City head. Danger over.

If you are a Man City fan, I suspect you might be sweating a little.

YELLOW CARD

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Now then. Bacary Sagna is carded for a foul on Jefferson Montero that gives Swansea a dangerous free-kick wide left. If this goes in it will release the mother of all cats amongst the pigeons...

And now Fernandinho shanks one. He is set up by Kelechi Iheanacho on the edge of the box but pulls his shot horribly wide. Another chance goes begging.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

"Swansea centre-back Federico Fernandez and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero were Argentina team-mates at the 2014 World Cup.

"Fernandez says the players from that squad have stayed in touch with a group on WhatsApp - but there have been times today when he seems to be struggling to keep up with Aguero.

"City’s top scorer has been his typical elusive self in the Swans’ penalty area but, so far, the usually impeccable finisher has failed to find his range."

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Steve Claridge

Ex-Leicester striker at the Liberty Stadium for BBC Radio 5 Live

"Is it one of those days when City should put it to bed and then get done right at the end?

"They have already been unlucky with the goal they have conceded, is it just not going to be their day?"

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Oh, Sergio. What happened there son? Aguero muscles his way to latch on to a loose ball in the box and lines up the shot but scuffs it terribly and watches in horror as the ball trickles wide. Man City have certainly spurned some chances today. I hate to get all cliche about this, but it could really come back to haunt them.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Steve Claridge

Ex-Leicester striker at the Liberty Stadium for BBC Radio 5 Live

"It is a strange game. At any stage City could take the lead but with the nervous defending, in a game they should be comfortable they are certainly not."

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Nice play from the visitors. They almost open Swansea up as Kelechi Iheanacho tries to find Sergio Aguero in the box but Angel Rangel is well placed to intercept.

SUBSTITUTION

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Change for Swansea. Mo Barrow is on for Wayne Routledge.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Worryingly for Man City, Swansea remain firmly in this game. They win another corner and go close as the unmarked Federico Fernández heads the delivery just wide of the post.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Steve Claridge

Ex-Leicester striker at the Liberty Stadium for BBC Radio 5 Live

"If Iheanacho has a touch, then he has a clear shot on goal from five yards and certainly scores.

"Will that be the chance that they rue at the end of the game?

"You can see the nervousness around Man City. That was an opportunity to put all that to bed."

HITS THE WOODWORK

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Man City should be back ahead. Jesus Navas' low shot from the right byline is kept out by the foot of the post and Kelechi Iheanacho is unable to react as the ball fires out and ultimately between his feet and away.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Steve Claridge

Ex-Leicester striker at the Liberty Stadium for BBC Radio 5 Live

"There is deja vu with the second half starting exactly like the first.

"That was a good chance for Man City and would have really settled the nerves."

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Man City win at early corner. De Brune takes it but Leroy Fer is there to head away. The away side come again, though, but Eliaquim Mangala's header from a De Bruyne cross goes a yard over the bar.

KICK-OFF

Swansea 1-1 Man City

We are back under way. Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping his players changed into their shooting boots at the break.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

"Former Swansea captain and head coach Garry Monk has tweeted to pay tribute to Besian Idrizaj, the ex-Swans striker who died from a heart attack six years ago, when he was just 22 years old.

"Swansea’s fans showed their respect with a minute’s applause at 40 minutes, as Idrizaj wore the number 40 during his time at the Liberty Stadium."

Never forgotten. RIP Besian idrizaj❤️

Fifth not a disaster...

Finishing fifth would not be a disaster for Manchester City. Not my words but those of Danny Murphy.

Swansea 1-1 Man City

Dafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

"This may be Manuel Pellegrini’s final game in charge of Manchester City, but he is showing no signs of easing up.

"The Chilean has been haranguing his players from the touchline, even when they were 1-0 up, and Swansea’s equaliser is vindication for his fury.

"City should be ahead but their wasteful finishing - and Andre Ayew’s fortuitous leveller - means they are only level.

"Still, a point would be enough to ensure Pellegrini leaves with the parting gift of Champions League football for next season."

Will the table finish like this?

"Now City will start to rue those missed opportunities. Now there is a game on.

"A moment of luck. Fernando is stood in the wall and it is a wonderful own goal - it gives Joe Hart no chance.

"Now it is really interesting to see how they approach this second half. At the moment City are alright but they are walking a fine line."

HALF-TIME

Swansea 1-1 Man City

The goal is the last act of the half. Swansea go in level but Man City will be wondering how. The away side have had the vast majority of chances.

GOAL - Swansea 1-1 Man City

Andre Ayew

A very dangerous free-kick. Swansea are level as Andre Ayew's free-kick takes a huge deflection off the head of Fernando in the wall, wrong-foots Joe Hart and finds the corner of the net.
