MB3H@N: "This was Aberdeen's now or never season ,Celtic can only improve as will Rangers & Hearts. #bbcsportscot"

The story continues...

The Scottish football weekend continues tomorrow at lunchtime with Championship winners Rangers hosting Alloa Athletic.

Later, there are two Premiership matches - Motherwell v Hearts and Partick Thistle v Dundee - as well as games in the Championship and Leagues One and Two.

And, in the evening, Raith Rovers host Falkirk in the Championship.

Then on Sunday, Kilmarnock visit Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Premiership's early kick-off before leaders Celtic host Ross County and bottom side Dundee United take on Hamilton Academical.

We made it so difficult for them from the first whistle. Really good performance and I think when we're like that, we're a match for anybody

Even though Celtic have been terrible this season, they still have a budget 10 times that of Aberdeen. It would be a miracle if we won the league and it's ridiculous to say we bottled it.

Agree with Doug. Brown, Taylor and Reynolds need replaced. Ultimately we have lost winnable games at key moments this season. Not too far away. Celtic may yet implode so who knows...?

FULL-TIME

St Johnstone 3-0 Aberdeen

A very comfortable win for St Johnstone and Aberdeen's season is in danger of going out with a whimper.

Saints replace Motherwell in fourth, at least until Well's match at home to Hearts tomorrow.

Should Hearts win that game, they will be within five points of the Dons, who could be 11 points behind Celtic by Sunday, should the leaders beat Ross County.

Huge summer for Derek McInnes and Aberdeen. Brown, Taylor and Reynolds need replaced, they are simply not good enough. If Logan goes that's another replacement needed, and they need a ball winner in the middle of the park. With Celtic under new management, Rangers being promoted and Hearts improving, the Pittodrie board simply have to back their manager with funds.

Doug, Westhill

Scott Brown has really got to go as he's not capable of playing at this level, it's like he's scared to get stuck in. Does he know he can jump and use his hands to catch the ball?

People giving Dons a hard time need a good hard look at themselves. Tremendous effort from Derek McInnes and the lads over the season, unfortunately we aren't able to deal with key players missing and Danny Ward going throughout the course of the season. We'll be back.

Well well well! Aberdeen proving their bottle again!! Handed the worst Celtic team in years the title! Derek McInnes is the best manager in Scotland since Ferguson and the board at Pittodrie have played on it. Opportunity to strengthen in January but chose not to. Hit a glass ceiling and that's it. Most disappointing season ever and not Derek's fault.

Gary Wilson

As a hearts fan I will admit Aberdeen have done well this season BUT tonight shows they ain't ready or good enough to challenge for the title over the full season even as Celtic are playing their worst football in a long time.

Craig, Aberdeen

St Johnstone 2-0 Aberdeen

St Johnstone goalkeeper Zander Clark smothers the ball as Simon Church tries to get on the end of Kenny McLean's cross. First real sign of pressure from the Dons.

St Johnstone 2-0 Aberdeen

St Johnstone have started where they left off. Plenty of crosses into the Aberdeen box and the visitors just cannot get a foothold in the match.

Celtic very, very poor. Aberdeen and rest of Premiership abysmal. Hot air is what comes from Pittodrie.

Bob, Aberdeen

After the woeful displays of Scottish Referees this Season - is it not time they should be SUBSTITUTED if they're making a pig's ear of it - just like the players?

Barney, Neilston

HALF-TIME

St Johnstone 2-0 Aberdeen

Thoroughly dominant display from St Johnstone in the first half and they are on course to overtake Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, at least until tomorrow.

Aberdeen have not been at the races so far and need a huge turnaround in the second half to avoid a second straight defeat.

Steven MacLean (far right) got the vital touch to put St Johnstone two up

St Johnstone 2-0 Aberdeen

Sportsound pundit and former Aberdeen manager and captain Willie Miller believes tonight's performance by the Dons is their worst of the season "by a long way".

St Johnstone 2-0 Aberdeen

St Johnstone have bossed this first half and deserve their two-goal lead.

It will be difficult for them to maintain this intensity for the full 90 minutes but they have given Aberdeen a huge mountain to climb.

GOAL St Johnstone 2-0 Aberdeen (MacLean)

Well, this one does count. Tam Scobbie's deep free-kick is headed into the six-yard box by Steven Anderson and Steven MacLean helps the ball into the net with the faintest of touches.

St Johnstone 1-0 Aberdeen

That was another let-off for the Dons. Scott Brown appeared to run into his own man at that corner and Saints may well feel the goal should have stood.

DISALLOWED GOAL

St Johnstone 1-0 Aberdeen

Saints have the ball over the goal-line again but this time it is disallowed. Steven Anderson forced in a corner but referee Craig Thompson blew his whistle for a foul on goalkeeper Scott Brown.
