That's it from me this evening, thanks for joining our live text coverage as Sheffield Wednesday overcame Brighton on aggregate to make the Championship play-off final.

Wednesday, who are looking to make it back to the Premier League for the first time since 2000, will face either Hull City or Derby County in the final.

The Tigers host the Rams tomorrow night, with a 3-0 advantage from the first leg.

There will be full coverage of that game on Radio 5 live sports extra and on the BBC Sport website - but it's goodbye from me tonight.

Recap: Wednesday Wembley-bound

FT: Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wed (1-3 agg)

So, Sheffield Wednesday booked their place in the Championship play-off final thanks to a draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium tonight.

Lewis Dunk opened the scoring for Brighton, but Ross Wallace equalised for the visitors midway through the first half.

Trailing 3-1 on aggregate, the Seagulls couldn't find a way back into the match.

Sheffield Wednesday, meanwhile, are yet to lose a game in the play-offs.

The Owls recorded their highest league finish in 16 years this season are now one game away from the Premier League.

The Hillsborough outfit have not been in the top flight since 1999-00.

Hull City or Derby County will stand in their way at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 28 May.

While Sheffield Wednesday celebrate - spare a thought for Brighton & Hove Albion.

That is a third Championship play-off semi-final defeat for the Seagulls in four years; Crystal Palace in 2013, Derby County in 2014 and now Sheffield Wednesday this season.

Albion finished 15 points ahead of the Owls in the Championship table this season, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion on goal difference.

It was a spirited effort from the Seagulls to overturn that two-goal deficit from the first leg, but it eventually proved too much for Chris Hughton's side.

Their wait for top-flight football, which was last played in Sussex in 1982-83, goes on.

Chris Sutton

Ex-Blackburn striker at Amex Stadium, BBC Radio 5 live

"Brighton have given everything. They couldn't have started the game better.

"Glenn Loovens and Tom Lees were terrific at centre-half for Sheffield Wednesday, Keiren Westwood was commanding in goal and they are one game away from the top flight."

We fight a lot and run a lot all season. This game is a good example of that. We didn't play our usual game and I think the players were a bit nervous. After what Brighton did this season they don't deserve this moment but that is football. To go to Wembley and play is fantastic. We will be 50-50 in the final but we will fight and do our best.

Wednesday's players and staff are continuing the celebrations in front of the travelling fans at the Amex Stadium.

It'll be a first trip to the new Wembley Stadium for the Owls, and a first time there since reaching two cup finals in 1993.

Defensively the back five were great. They put a lot of balls into the box and we had to weather the storm. We are going to have a magnificent day out. We'll enjoy the moment and then get back to it.

It is a big relief. It wasn't our best game but we don't care. We are there and we can enjoy it fully now. The spirit has been good all season - not only the players but everyone involved.

"I really feel for Brighton, but credit to Sheffield Wednesday for their second-half performance.

"They were extremely comfortable. They had the strokes of luck with Brighton missing chances and a couple off the line in the first half.

"Over the two legs, Brighton haven't had the luck and it's Sheffield Wednesday who are celebrating."

Sheffield Wednesday celebrate on the pitch - they move a step closer to a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2000.

A few Albion players are in tears - defender Bruno and Jiri Skalak among them.

Sheffield Wednesday have done it!

They're into the Championship play-off final at Wembley on 28 May and are one win away from the Premier League!

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

James Wilson drags a shot wide for Brighton. That is almost it at the Amex.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Wednesday clear the ball from the corner and have a chance to make it 2-1 with goalkeeper David Stockdale in the Owls' box.

Atdhe Nuhiu has an effort blocked and Fernando Forestieri can't capitalise. Time is almost up.

GREAT SAVE!

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk draws a great save from Owls keeper Keiren Westwood.

Still no way past the Wednesday number one.

Albion stopper David Stockdale is up for the resulting corner.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Albion keeper David Stockdale has to be very quick to rush out of his goal and intercept a ball forward from Wednesday.

Fernando Forestieri was lurking and ready to pounce.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

A ball into the Owls box from Kazenga LuaLua finds Lewis Dunk and the ball falls to Anthony Knockaert.

He tries a difficult shot from a narrow angle - and only connects with thin air. The ball bobbles out for a goal kick.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Brighton sub Kazenga LuaLua fires a tame effort wide of Keiren Westwood's goal.

We'll have six minutes of injury time at the Amex Stadium. Hope for Brighton?

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Brighton win another corner but Owls skipper Glenn Loovens heads away the free-kick and is fouled in the process.

Wednesday edge closer to a victory in the tie.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Atdhe Nuhiu is doing a great job of holding up the ball for Wednesday, outmuscling Bruno and Liam Rosenior.

The ball is just where Wednesday want it.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Wednesday have the ball in the Albion half and are looking very composed.

It's worked to Atdhe Nuhiu, who puts a tame effort wide of the goal.

Albion are looking a bit beaten. They still need two goals.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Wednesday keeper Keiren Westwood plucks a hopeful ball into the area and takes his time over distribution.

The Owls are so close to Wembley.

YELLOW CARD (Nuhiu)

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Another booking. This time it's Atdhe Nuhiu for barging into Albion midfielder Beram Kayal.

Five minutes remain. Albion need two goals.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

A half-chance for Brighton falls to James Wilson.

His effort on the turn from the edge of the area is wayward as he's off balance.

Any way past this man?

The visitors win another free-kick in the Brighton half and are starting to frustrate the Seagulls.

It's working.

The clock is ticking away and it's looking more unlikely for the Seagulls.

...which ends in a yellow card for Albion defender Bruno, for a body check on Jeremy Helan.

It was a professional foul by the Spaniard, stopping the Wednesday attack.

Jiri Skalak pumps another free-kick into the Wednesday area - and Brighton get a corner.

But the Owls head it away and sets up a counter attack...

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Remember, away goals don't count here. Two Brighton goals would take us into extra-time.

The hosts need a spark - or a moment of magic.

Wednesday win their first corner of the game, but Albion keeper David Stockdale manages to punch it away from danger.

Just 10 minutes of the second leg for Brighton to find two goals.

And just 10 minutes of the second leg for Sheffield Wednesday to hold out.

Who will be heading to Wembley?

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Brighton appear to be going direct, shoving Lewis Dunk up front for the final stages.

The centre-back was Albion's top scorer last season as they narrowly avoided relegation.

The Seagulls have left three at the back in Bruno, Liam Rosenior and Gaetan Bong, and could be caught out on the break.

CLOSE!

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Wednesday manage to create a chance, as Kieran Lee picks out Atdhe Nuhiu at the back post.

But the striker can't direct his header and it goes over the bar.

Brighton are bringing on Liam Rosenior for centre-back Gordon Greer. There may be a reshuffle in formation for the hosts here.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Albion take their time over the free-kick. Kazenga LuaLua eventually hits it, but it's straight into the Wednesday wall.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu is back in his own defensive third trying to help out and ends up giving away a free-kick.

That gives Brighton another attacking free-kick opportunity.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Brighton goalscorer Lewis Dunk gets a flick on from Bruno's long throw into the Wednesday area - but it goes nowhere near another blue and white shirt or Keiren Westwood's goal.

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Wednesday are sitting quite deep at the moment and are challenging Albion to play through them.

The hosts, who need two goals, have gone a bit quiet.

The Owls make their final change, with Atdhe Nuhiu coming on for Gary Hooper up front.

Albion winger Kazenga LuaLua gets on the ball for the first time on the left and finds Jiri Skalak in the Wednesday area.

The Czech is slightly crowded out and can't find a team-mate.

Brighton are not able to pepper Keiren Westwood's goal as they did in the first half. The Owls are defending well.

SUBSTITUTION

Brighton 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (1-3 agg)

Ross Wallace has had to come off after picking up what looks like a hamstring injury. Jeremy Helan comes on for the Owls.
