Good night

It's been a good end to a good Spanish season. Barcelona won the La Liga title on the final day after a dramatic collapse in April, and then needed extra time to win the double in a game with three red cards today.

I say it's the end of the Spanish season...

But Real and Atletico play in the second Champions League final Madrid derby in three years next Saturday.

Join us next weekend for that.

Buenas Noches. Or for our Catalan readers, bona nit.

Neil Halliwell: With that stat (23:13), does their failure to win the double mean Leicester have underachieved then?

Yeah, those Leicester jokers lost to Spurs in the FA Cup third round. Shoddy.

Andres Iniesta lifts the Spanish Cup high in the air - the 28th time a Barcelona captain has done so.

Andres Iniesta celebrates

Each of Barcelona's players get a tiny little cup rather than a medal. Nice, but harder to wear for post-match boozing.

Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta: "It has been really great. It was tough and we had to dig deep. It has been a magnificent season."

Callum Morrison: With this 0-0 after 90 mins it clearly means that the Scottish cup was the best/most entertaining final this weekend

Sevilla fans have stayed until the end and are still making a great noise. It's been a good season for them, despite this defeat. They live for the Europa League.

And now Barcelona's players climb the Vicente Calderon stairs.

Vitolo looks dejected

Lionel Messi picks up a child with Papi 10 on the back of his Barcelona shirt. I presume it's his kid.

Now the officials get their ashtray-looking things. Referee Carlos del Cerro Grande looking nice and relaxed after his massage during the last period of extra time.

Sevilla's players are getting their runner-up medals now. I'm surprised they had the energy to even climb the stairs.

Remember (and if you are a Liverpool fan, how can you forget?) they played in another cup final on Wednesday - winning that one.

They had injury and suspension problems tonight.

Barcelona are the only team to win both La Liga and the Copa del Rey for two seasons in a row (1951-52 and 52-53 and again now).

There have been domestic doubles in Spain (Barcelona), Germany (Bayern Munich), Italy (Juventus) and France (Paris St-Germain) this season.

Yesterday's French Cup final was the only one to be decided in 90 minutes.

England the only major league to have different league and cup winners.

Huge effort from Barca. Had to work incredibly hard in that game. Pure talent takes you nowhere without determination and application.

Neither team earning FairPlay award! Fined by Spanish FA? #bbceurofooty

Barcelona have actually won the Spanish fair play award this season!

Sevilla's players are in tears on the pitch. They played their part in a thrilling game, but they have been made to pay for failing to take their chances during the hour or so they had a man advantage.

This is the first time Sevilla have lost a major cup final since the 1960s. They had won seven out of their last seven before tonight, including Wednesday's Europa League final.

The final whistle goes at the Vicente Calderon and Barcelona have won the Spanish league and cup double for the second season in a row.

GOAL - Barcelona 2-0 Sevilla

Barcelona are going to win the Spanish league and cup double, there's no doubt about that now. Lionel Messi gets his second assist of the game as he slips in Neymar, who slots home.

Game over.

Sevilla are down to nine men. Daniel Carrico slides Lionel Messi and wins the ball, but catches a lot of Argentine in the process.

He's only booked for the foul, but then has a moan and gets a second yellow for dissent. Idiot.

Four minutes added on. A lot of them for the referee's massage.

Off comes the probably match-winner Jordi Alba, to a good ovation. Sergi Roberto replaces him at left-back.

Peter David Smith: In the midst of a scrappy final Andrés Iniesta has been a class above it all

Dexter: The rate at which the ref is handing out cards tonight, he might get hand-cramp soon...

Poor from Fernando Llorente as he has a chance to set up a Sevilla attack, but gets his pass wrong. He's been a fairly recent substitute so can't blame tiredness.

It's now midnight in Spain. A lot of these fans will have work in a few hours.

Neymar almost wraps it up but his header from Andres Iniesta's cross is well saved - again - by Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico.

Neymar has the ball in the corner but then turns for goal and runs the ball out for a goal-kick. Four minutes plus a bit of stoppage time, which there will be, left.

Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro is booked for fouling Rafinha. It's scrappy now.

Matt Price: Two words to describe this final and in the words of Alec McGuinness - MADNESS! MADNESS!

The referee has his massage and we're under way again. He drops the ball to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who had possession when the game was stopped. Fernando Llorente was a bit cheeky and went for it but the German picks it up.

Referee Carlos del Cerro Grande has had a busy day to be fair.

There have been a total of 10 yellow cards and two red cards in this game so far, neither side's finest moment.

The referee shows the yellow card

SCENES. SCENES HERE. The referee comes over to the touchline. But what's the issue? He has cramp and needs a massage. Amazing. I've never seen this before.

Someone tries to put a blanket on him! But he shrugs it off. The players are welcoming this break.

Coke - who scored twice against Liverpool on Wednesday - cuts in from the right and has a shot but it's saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen at his near post.

A few oles from the Barcelona fans as they pass the ball around. Fernando Llorente's first action is to foul Lionel Messi.

Neymar is selfish and that costs Barcelona the chance to wrap this up. He comes forward and has about three players to pass to but goes himself and runs out of steam.

KICK-OFF - Barcelona 1-0 Sevilla

And we are under way in the final of this game's four halves.

Sevilla bring on former Spain striker Fernando Llorente, whose career has faltered in the last few years, for Vicente Iborra.

HALF-TIME - Barcelona 1-0 Sevilla

Half-time in extra time. Barcelona are 15 minutes away from the double.

Sergio Rico with ANOTHER brilliant save. Dani Alves fires in a shot from 25 yards which Rico one-handedly turns away from his goal.

Sevilla are really on the ropes.

Sergio Rico pulls off a brilliant save to keep Sevilla in this cup final. Neymar's free-kick finds Gerard Pique, whose header is touched over the crossbar by Rico.

Sevilla full-back Sergio Escudero joins the yellow club for a sliding challenge on Lionel Messi. Their sixth booking of the game (plus a red card).
