Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

That's all from me - I've got a match report to finish off.

But you can follow all the reaction to Saturday's games here.

FULL-TIME

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Marten de Roon with it but it doesn't beat the first man and Palace have their first win of the season.

Boro's unbeaten run comes to an end.

YELLOW CARD

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Oh my word!

Boro think they have a penalty - but it's a free-kick just on the edge of the box as George Friend is brought down by Wilfried Zaha - role reversal for Palace's second goal.

Who's gonna take this?

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Adama Traore again with space down the right - but his drilled ball in doesn't beat the first man.

Time's running out...

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Jonathan Benteke has time to play in a team-mate, run the clock down, but he shoots tamely from outside the box to hand the ball back to Boro.

Adam Traore's cross is again brilliantly cleared by the Palace defence - James Ward rising high to head away.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Is this petering out now? Stewart Downing shanks an effort wide.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

There were some big shouts for a penalty from Boro's players in that chance - the ball struck Damian Delaney's arm but it would have been very harsh.

FIVE minutes added on. Can they do it?

CLOSE!

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Is Middlesbrough's unbeaten run coming to an end?

Alvaro Negredo is denied on the line by some superb Palace defending - the goal was there for the taking after Steve Mandanda parried Gaston Ramirez's shot, but Martin Kelly edges in and clears acrobatically.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Inside the last three minutes. Boro have been huffing and puffing but nothing's going for them.

Superb handling from Steve Mandanda to pluck Gaston Ramirez's cross from the air.

'Palace have to get a monkey off their back'

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton and Sunderland winger on Final Score

We are seeing a different style of play from Middlesbrough now. They have made changes and are pushing bodies forward. It's not what the manager Aitor Karanka normally likes to do, but needs must...

Palace have to get a monkey off their back. They have to get this winless hoodoo off them, so it will be so significant if Palace can hold onto the win. Because there is mounting pressure on Alan Pardew.

SUBSTITUTION

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Not every day you see this. Christian Benteke is replaced by his brother Jonathan, 21.

Mathieu Flamini also replaces Joe Ledley in Palace's final two changes.

Just over five to go...

SUBSTITUTION

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

A change. New signing from Aston Villa Adama Traore is on for Boro, Christian Stuani coming off.

James Ward goes in the book for timewasting as Palace prepare to bring on Mathieu Flamini.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Ten minutes to go. Boro are still knocking but just lacking that final flourish.

They have to keep on like this but will they leave themselves too open?

CHANCE!

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Antonio Barragan gets to the byline, lifts a cross over Steve Mandanda but there's nobody around to finish the move!

On the replay of that handball it's Scott Dann who touched it - a very decent shout for a spot-kick.

Daniel Ayala rises to meet a corner but heads over the bar after Andros Townsend is replaced by Chung-yong Lee for Palace.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Fifteen minutes for Middlesbrough to preserve their unbeaten start to the season.

Can they find a goal?

PENALTY APPEAL

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Huge appeal from Boro's players as the ball strikes Damien Delaney's hand in the box when cutting out a cross. Ball to hand? Nothing in it? That's what the ref makes of it. Not seen a replay yet.

CLOSE!

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Jason Puncheon floats it in and Damian Delaney should do better at the back stick as Scott Dann's flick on opens up space for his fellow centre-back. Prodded over on the head with a gap at Victor Valdes' near post waiting.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

...which is boomed clear by the head of Daniel Ayala. Palace back with it though. And it's another corner as Andros Townsend is blocked down the left. Good spell this for Palace.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Gaston Ramirez tries to turn away into space in front of the Palace back four but Jason Puncheon's now flourishing as a re-branded midfield enforcer. He leans Ramirez off the ball and plays Palace up and away with Zaha down the right and Martin Kelly eventually wins a corner on the opposite flank...

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

There's a nice moment as Ward thanks Negredo for not making a huge deal of that. He's fine.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

There's some promising signs here for Boro. Waspish in midfield, they're keeping Palace under pressure and have had pretty much all of the play since Zaha's goal. It's just not connecting up top.

Alvaro Negredo's caught by James Ward's arm as the two chase a loose ball - Boro's Spanish striker's wound up with a cut above his eye and is getting treatment on the pitch. Totally fair challenge, just bad luck.

YELLOW CARD

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Frustration. Gaston Ramirez has only been on the pitch five minutes and he's already in the book for giving the ref an earful. He thought he should have had a corner - the replay shows it was clearly Jason Puncheon who knocked it behind. Goal kick.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Safe hands to gather from Scott Dann's header from Victor Valdes. But again there were holes in the Boro back line as Jason Puncheon's central free-kick was floated in.

SUBSTITUTION

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Two changes for Boro to build on Gibson's unlikely rallying cry.

Gaston Ramirez comes on for Viktor Fischer in attacking midfield.

Marten de Roon is on for Adam Clayton in the centre of the park.

CLOSE!

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

What?! Ben Gibson, the Boro centre-back, on his left foot, hammers one from range that has Steve Mandanda really scrabbling. The Palace keeper just manages to turn it over for a corner.

CLOSE!

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Ooohf! Stewart Downing fancies grabbing this by the scruff of the neck. He fires a left-footed zinger that just sails over the Palace frame. Steve Mandanda was soaring across his goal - and would have been nowhere near it had Downing match accuracy with power.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Well then. That was a gift. No two ways about it. Will Palace be so easily undone again themselves? As they were for Boro's equaliser?

Come on, if you're giving them away, let's have a seven-goal thriller.

'It's another defensive mistake'

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton and Sunderland winger on Final Score

Boro are very much a defensive side and they usually like to sit on their leads. But it's another defensive mistake, although it's great muscle and intent from Zaha.

Middlesbrough 1-2 Crystal Palace

Wilfried Zaha

This is really poor defending from George Friend.

James McArthur pops a through ball towards Wilfried Zaha cutting in from the Palace right - it should be dealt with but Zaha overpowers the Boro left-back, stealing in for the most simple of finishes past Victor Valdes. Smashes Palace back into the lead.

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

We are back under way.

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

Here we go then. Boro's players are out last, no changes from either side.

HALF-TIME

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

What an end to the first half!

GREAT SAVE!

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

Viktor Fischer nicks the ball off Jason Puncheon on the halfway line, plays in Alvaro Negredo who's got time to think about his shot as he bears down on goal from an angle...

Saved by the legs of Steve Mandanda and over!

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

Not too many players more popular than Ben Gibson on Teesside. He channels Sol Campbell in 1998 as he tears beyond the halfway line.

Antonio Barragan is suddenly played in behind the back four, he can pick a man out at the back stick... but Steve Mandanda does brilliantly to read it and scoop the ball from the air.

One minute added on.

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

Any more for any more?

Two minutes before the break. The perfect time to score.

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

Now we've a game on.

Andros Townsend whips a free-kick into the Boro box, it's panic stations before Adam Clayton digs it out from a bundle of red and yellow bodies.

Then James McArthur rises at the back stick to meet a cross and wins a corner, which eventually falls to James Ward who booms over.

'What leap and power from Ayala'

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

Kevin Kilbane

Former Everton and Sunderland winger on Final Score

Great header! Boro have sat back too much and have invited pressure, but they are so dangerous from dead-ball situations. And what leap and power from Ayala.

Middlesbrough 1-1 Crystal Palace

Daniel Ayala

Scratch that! A first Premier League goal for Daniel Ayala draws the home side level. Left in far too much space he hammers Stewart Downing's corner home unchallenged on the head. Where was the marking? And was Steve Mandanda a touch flat-footed? He got a hand to it but seemed to have already faded.

Middlesbrough 0-1 Crystal Palace

Christian Benteke's a far happier star striker. The first goal for his new club wouldn't be out of place on a highlights reel of his best goals at Aston Villa. A vulgar display of power.

And it's the game's defining moment so far. Middlesbrough struggling to make this a conversation.

Middlesbrough 0-1 Crystal Palace

Awkward. Antonio Barragan and Viktor Fischer try a one-two in their own half under pressure and it all goes wrong. Possession handed away as the ball goes out for a throw.

Alvaro Negredo lifts his arms and lets them fall heavily. Frustration on the halfway line.
