FULL-TIME

Liverpool 5 - 1

Peter Swan

Former Hull City defender on BBC Radio Humberside

At the end of the day if you like football it was a great game to watch. Hull City showed a bit of character, they kept fighting and they tried to do the right things. But they got beat by a better team.

'The performance of the day'

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Garth Crooks

Former Spurs striker on Final Score

Liverpool's is the performance of the day - well worth a watch on Match of the Day tonight. They have destroyed Hull. Only one team was ever going to win this.

FULL-TIME

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

It doesn't get much more emphatic than that. Liverpool were miles better from start to finish. Klopp's men march on.

A birthday to forget for Mike Phelan, though.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Into the final minute. After that there will be two additional minutes.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Nothing to see here now, move on, move on. This game is just running down to its inevitable conclusion. Some home fans are off to try and beat the traffic.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Sturridge again... but he is denied space in the box after his touch takes him into the box and he can't get his shot away.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Daniel Sturridge tries to get in on the goalscoring but his effort from 20 yards is tame and loops harmlessly wide of goal.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Jurgen Klopp's is still urging his side on but the men on the field look sated with their five goals. The pace of the game has dipped.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Robert Snodgrass goes in search of another Hull consolation but he swings a free-kick from way out over the bar.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Mike Phelan is still smiling down on the touchline. He is a better man than me. I'd have rebooted the computer without saving a long time ago.

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

Liverpool continue to camp out in the Hull half. Emre Can wins another corner with a deflected shot. Mane takes it but a push in the box gives Hull a free-kick.

Dan Fookes: Has Danny Mills not spotted Liverpool have already beaten Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester? Unless by big teams, he meant Burnley.

Robin Lewitt: Danny Mills - Liverpool suspect against the bigger teams? What like, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea or Leicester?

Komfo Adu: Ridiculous from Mills. Were Liverpool found out by the so-called big teams: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and the defending champions?

SUBSTITUTION

Liverpool 5-1 Hull

It is a sub-fest. Emre Can and Marko Grujic come on for Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson for Liverpool. Hull take off Ryan Mason and send on Markus Henriksen.

GOAL - Liverpool 5-1 Hull

James Milner

Another emphatic finish from James Milner, who strikes it hard and low to Marshall's left.

PENALTY

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Daniel Sturridge felled by a swinging leg from Andrew Robertson. Nailed on penalty.

SUBSTITUTION

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Daniel Sturridge on, Adam Lallana off. The latter has had a superb game.

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Looks like Daniel Sturridge is going to see some action. He is stripped off and ready to rock.

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Is there a less desirable on-field role in football than the one currently being performed by Abel Hernandez? He is taking lone striker to the extreme degree.

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Coutinho hits the free-kick into the wall and wins a corner. The home side have had 12 of them now. They waste this one, though.

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Free-kick to Liverpool. Edge of the box. Useful.

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Not for the first time today Georginio Wijnaldum should have scored. Jordan Henderson's corner pops up for the midfielder, who fires his volley straight at Marshall.

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Sadio Mane tests Marshall again with a low shot from the edge of the box.

Daniel Sturridge watches on from the bench. His downbeat look appears to be that of a man feeling like he is missing out.

'Liverpool won't win the title'

Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Danny Mills

Ex-Man City defender on Final Score

Liverpool are entertaining going forward but defensively are a bit suspect. Against the bigger teams they might be found out, which is for me why they won't win the title this season.

GOAL - Liverpool 4-1 Hull

Philippe Coutinho

My word. Hull have just made Liverpool - and Philippe Coutinho in particular - angry. Adam Lallana's square ball in the Hull half finds the Brazilian, who does all the rest, cutting on to his right foot and smashing an absolute worldy into the top corner. Pick that out.

GOAL - Liverpool 3-1 Hull

David Meyler

Hang on a sec, this wasn't in the script. Robert Snodgrass' corner is met by two rising players after which the ball falls to David Meyler to lash in. It might not change the result but it gives Hull something to cheer.

'Hull can't live with Liverpool'

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Danny Mills

Ex-Man City defender on Final Score

Hull caretaker boss Mike Phelan has to get everyone behind the ball, sit on the edge of the box and defend for their lives because they are getting ripped to shreds.

Liverpool have been dominant and Hull, a man down, just can't live with them. The intensity Liverpool are playing with is superb. Garth asked if they could keep it up all season - Jurgen Klopp showed he could do it at Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool are so exciting. They are fast and sharp with intricate passing.

'Liverpool's approach is refreshing'

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Garth Crooks

Former Spurs striker on Final Score

We see so much football these days which is about retaining possession, as though 10 passes make a goal. They don't, and Liverpool's approach is refreshing - get the ball into the opposition box and try to make something happen.

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Liverpool pour forward straight from the off. Mane wrestles past a Hull man in the box and finds Nathaniel Clyne but he slices his shot straight into the face of an away defender.

KICK-OFF

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Hull have made another change at the break with Harry Maguire on for the booked Tom Huddlestone. The game is back under way.

HALF-TIME

Liverpool 3 - 0 Hull City

Peter Swan

Former Hull City defender on BBC Radio Humberside

Great football from Liverpool and I'm surprised it's not more. When they've got it they've exploited it so well. It's going to be hard for Hull City in the second-half.

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

HALF-TIME

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Finally, some respite for Hull. This game is already settled. The only thing to be decided is how many Liverpool score. It could be a lot.

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

It should be 4-0. Georginio Wijnaldum's volley from a Roberto Firmino cross is clawed away by David Marshall.

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Liverpool look like scoring every time they come forward. Ragnar Klavan's wonderful, incisive pass releases James Milner down the left and his low cross runs right along the face of goal, begging for someone to touch it home. Unfortunately for the home side, no attacker had taken a gamble.

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Philippe Coutinho's low shot is saved by David Marshall. But selfish that as he had men to his right and left.

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Snodgrass is walking gingerly but he is going to continue. Just make it to half-time and reassess. Mike Phelan talks to his assistant on the touchline. "What do we do now?" "How about we go to the Winchester, have a pint, and wait for this to blow over?"

YELLOW CARD

Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Ryan Mason goes into the book for a late tackle. And it could get worse. Robert Snodgrass is down holding his ankle. He doesn't look well.

GOAL - Liverpool 3-0 Hull

Sadio Mane

Done and dusted. Adam Lallana pulls out a Cruyff turn inside the Hull box before finding Sadio Mane, who has time to take a touch, turn and fire a low shot into the bottom corner. Pick your number Liverpool. They could get double figures here.
