Right, so plenty of soul searching going on in the West Ham dressing room right now then. A disaster at the back this afternoon as Southampton picked them apart.

We shall see you again on Monday night with all the action from Turf Moor. Until then!

'It's the same players as last season'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic, speaking to Match Of The Day: "The possible penalty? I didn't see that, I don't know. The lads are saying it was a handball. The ball was 100mph and it's hard for the ref to judge it. I can't hold on to that.

"At home we need the points and were not happy with the way way we attacked with the ball. In the first half we were unlucky. It was a typical 0-0. After the second goal we took a risk we had a few chances but they also had a lot of space to use in a quality way. We are not the first team or the last in this situation.

"The most of it is about confidence. It is the same players and manager who were doing good things last season. 80% of the team is like that. We can ask them to be confident. We need one or two good results but it's not happening at the moment. We are working hard at training. We are good until someone punches us in the face and then we have a problem."

'We did not penetrate enough'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic, speaking to Match Of The Day: "They deserved to win. We didn't...we started well if we are talking about being behind the ball and closing the opponent down. We were not defending well as a team and in the first half we were better, compact and everything.

"But we were not happy with how we played in the last third of the pitch. We didn't penetrate enough and were unlucky in the first half. It was a 0-0 half. The second half you are trying to get back into the game and we made a big mistake. We had the ball three times and should have cleared. We tried to put them under pressure but they were always very quick in the moment of transition."

Southampton's 'beautiful goals'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Southampton manager Claude Puel told Match of the Day 2: "It was very important to win this game. Against a team without confidence it was important to press.

"We had a bad first half because we didn't keep the ball. I find a very good second half for my players with many chances and beautiful goals, which is important for confidence.

"For the future this was very good, to see the improvement from the first half to the second."

Still to come

Burnley v Watford (Monday)

One more Premier League match to come in this round and it's a Monday-night feast from Turf Moor.

You can of course join us for all the action as both sides look to climb the table.

'We are in a bad spell'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

More from West Ham boss Slaven Bilic on Sky Sports: "The first half was okay. We were solid until that goal. In the second half they were better than us.

"We had a couple of chances but missed the target and they were very dangerous on the counter-attack.

"We are in a really bad spell. We are a team that is expecting something to happen by default. We don't have the confidence and it's a chain reaction.

"It's not a magic wand thing. All you can do is stick together and work hard."

'It's hard to change. The team is down'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Slaven Bilic

Slaven Bilic told Sky Sports: "We deserved to be defeated. One by one they (the players) gave everything but it's not enough.

"It's hard to change it. The team is down. We have good weeks of training but when the game comes it's simply not good enough. We have to work hard but it's not happening."

Andy: Feghouli, Zaza, Fernandes, Tore, Nordtveit, Ayew - all utterly useless. What a terrible summer of business Gold/Sullivan did.

Jay: Look at the bright side. West Ham can now ditch football and choose any sport that can be played in their brand new stadium.

Wayne: i think Slaven Bilic did well last season because he inherited Big Sam's team. Now Bilic has changed the team they are no good!

'Lack of energy from West Ham'

I wasn't happy with West Ham's defending. The goals were good from Southampton's point of view, but West Ham could have stopped two of those goals. There was a lack of energy at home. You can't get away from the fact that Southampton have put in a top-class performance. There's been a lot of changes in that squad but it's been business as usual.

Kevin Kilbane was speaking on a Facebook live to preview tonight's Match of The Day 2.

"It's not good enough"

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

More from West Ham midfielder Mark Noble on Sky Sports: "It all blends into one, the start we had. The European games were not great. We got a good win here against Bournemouth and then it's been downhill from there.

"Eleven goals (conceded) in three games is laughable and it's not good enough. When you are losing it is (a flat atmosphere). I think we could have kept playing til tonight and we wouldn't have scored.

"I have been in this position a lot of times at this club. We've got to work hard for each other and look to ourselves. We can't blame each other.

"It's not good enough but luckily enough it's early in the season and we've got time to turn it round."

Higher! Lower!

Anyone higher than seven?! Can I hear eight anywhere?

'Southampton could have scored seven'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Robbie Savage

Ex-Wales midfielder, MOT2 pundit

Southampton were excellent today. They could have scored six or seven. The full-backs were the key for them, especially in the first half. Ryan Bertrand down the left was fantastic and Cedric Soares was equally impressive.

'It could have been six'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Mark Noble

West Ham captain Mark Noble told Sky Sports: "I thought we started all right and then 'bang' we conceded a goal and to be honest we never looked back in it. If I'm honest it could have been six in the end.

"Adrian pulled off some good saves and on the bright side, I don't think it can get any worse."

A bad run

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

West Ham have lost five of their opening six games in a top-flight season for the first time in their history.

West Ham have conceded 16 goals in their opening six games of a top-flight season for the first time since 1967-68 (18).

'Bilic not under pressure yet'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker, on BBC Radio 5 live at London Stadium

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic isn't under pressure. He did enough last season to warrant patience at this stage. Their next three games - Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and Sunderland - he cannot afford to lose. If he lost them he really would be under some pressure.

'Let's keep it going'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Southampton winger Dusan Tadic told Sky Sports: "I am really happy to score but the most important thing is to win. We defend together and we attack together. We scored at the right moment and after that it was not easy to play against us.

"We hadn't won away for a long time so it was important for us to show we could win away games. We showed good mentality and confidence and we need to keep the momentum going."

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Mark Noble looks utterly shocked during his post-match interview. "If I'm honest it could have been six," he says.

Living the dream

Charlie Austin

Charlie Austin told Sky Sports: "We deserved the lead at half time. We had a slow start to the season but we have certainly got the ball rolling.

"You ask any striker, when they're on a hot streak you want the games to keep coming.

"When you are playing with players like Dusan Tadic and the others we've got and you're putting the ball in the net it's like a dream."

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, Sunderland - that's West Ham's next three games. Slaven Bilic will need a good haul from that lot...

Paul Hawkins: West Ham are going to get smashed when they play any team with a decent strike force. They are useless at the back.

Joe Collett-Cramp: West Ham have such terrible forward options this season. And defensive options. Not great in midfield either.

Andrew Neill: I hope Match Of The Day have two or three defensive analysts to look at West Ham tonight.

'Can't blame West Ham fans for leaving early'

You have to say to the fans who left 10, 12 or 15 minutes early made a good decision. Can you blame them? They had seen enough. It's a massive job on for Slaven Bilic now. The big problem is they are disjointed and concede goals. When players like Lanzini and Payet, who were great last season, perform like that they are in trouble. Zaza? He was pathetic. They need to snap out of it and quickly.

The players have a responsibility to provide the energy, passion and drive to get this crowd up. There might be teething problems with the stadium but the team on the pitch are not helping. We can make excuses about off-the-pitch stuff but the players have a responsibility to do better.

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

West Ham have one win and three points all season. They are in the very early relegation zone as Southampton climb to ninth position.

'Forster won't need a shower!'

Disjointed is an understatement. Fraser Forster hasn't had a save to make - he'll be able to get straight on the bus. He won't need a shower! It's dark days for West Ham and I can't remember such an abject performance. They had a big chance to put it right but they are in disarray. The scoreline didn't flatter Southampton one little bit.

The only fans inside the ground are wearing the red and white of Southampton. That away end has seen a very good second-half display.

West Ham's defending will make for some nasty viewing for the analysts.

'He can't believe his luck'

West Ham 0-3 Southampton

Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker, on BBC Radio 5 live at London Stadium

No surprises that Southampton have got a third. This second half they have had so many chances and James Ward-Prowse can believe his luck. It's been quite frankly embarrassing from West Ham. It's not a crisis at West Ham but Slaven Bilic has some major surgery to do.

GOAL - West Ham 0-3 Southampton

James Ward-Prowse

So easy. So, so easy. Nathan Redmond jockeys his man on the left, Steven Davis busts a gut to underlap him and nobody goes with him. Davis into the area, cuts it back and when Angelo Ogbonna can't clear his lines, sub James Ward-Prowse is free to smash in the third.

SUBSTITUTION

A change to kill some more of the clock, though Southampton don't need to. Cuco Martina replaces Cedric Soares, who has impressed this afternoon.

Mark Ferguson: What has happened to West Ham this season, looked unbeatable last season and now they look weak as hell.

Si's Insights: If it stays this way, it's really beginning to click for Puel. Two wins and possibly two clean sheets after a dodgy start.

Loudly Curious: As soon as England get a manager who might give him a chance, Mark Noble goes walkabout. Shame.

West Ham 0-2 Southampton

So much space in that West Ham backline as James Ward-Prowse lashes in a drive from 16 yards and Adrian pushes it out. Then a great save to deny Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Adrian! What a stop.

West Ham 0-2 Southampton

It is beyond West Ham now. Surely? They have had their brightest moments since falling 2-0 behind but Southampton could have had four or five, quite easily, on another day.

West Ham down to walking pace. It's as if they think it's beyond them now.

I have never been at a stadium where the score is 2-0 and so many fans are leaving with 10 minutes to go. If anything now it looks like Southampton will get a third.

West Ham 0-2 Southampton

He got hold of that! Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg lashes in a long-range strike which fizzes past the post and takes a cameraman clean out.

West Ham replace captain Mark Noble with Edimilson Fernandes.

SUBSTITUTION

West Ham 0-2 Southampton

Southampton goalscorer Dusan Tadic is replaced as the visitors look to see this one out. On comes James Ward-Prowse. Plenty of Hammers fans choose that moment to leave.

West Ham 0-2 Southampton

Brilliant last-ditch defending from Winston Reid to deny Dusan Tadic. With 15 minutes to go West Ham are finally playing with some intensity, though.

CLOSE!

West Ham 0-2 Southampton

And now West Ham go close! So many chances in this second half. Dimitri Payet is at the forefront for the hosts, cutting the ball back across goal, it's not dealt with and Simone Zaza's toe-poke is hacked off the line by Virgil van Dijk.

Saints counter and Dusan Tadic is almost in on goal...
