Match reports and round-ups of tonight's action can be found on the website later. Meanwhile, join us for the second leg of Celtic's Champions League qualfier tomorrow evening. Can they make Lincoln Red Imps look small this time and recover from the 1-0 first-leg horror show?

Meantime, Edinburgh City, promoted from the Lowland League to League Two, make their entrance to the League Cup at home to Livingston - ironically the last senior club to be housed at Meadowbank Stadium when they were Meadowbank Thistle.

Hopefully that all made sense and you are finding the group stage as enthralling as Euro 2016 was! Okay, maybe on a smaller scale.

Group H

Greenock Morton head the group with five points and already it is looking like a straight battle between themselves and Kilmarnock, who defeated Clyde on Saturday, for that top spot.

Group G

St Mirren are in control in Group G after two straight wins. Premiership outfit Hamilton Accies, who were one of the sides not playing tonight, are stuck at the bottom.

Group F

Rangers and Stranraer are out in front with two straight victories. After their defeat by Rangers on Saturday, Motherwell will have to target League One outfit Stranraer if they are to chase runners-up spot.

Group E

Queen of the South are out in front with two straight victories. It looks like a straight fight between themselves and Partick Thistle for top spot, with the Glasgow side three points behind with a game in hand. Queen's Park, though, will still hope to figure after bouncing back with a win away to Stenhousemuir.

Group D

Raith Rovers are out in front with maximum points from two games, but Alloa Athletic and Ross County also have maximum points after playing one game less.

Group C

Dundee United are top with five points, but Dunfermline Athletic and Inverness Caledonian Thistle are two behind with a game in hand. Arbroath and Cowdenbeath already look out of it.

Group B

There's a four-way tie in with one win apiece for Falkirk, St Johnstone, Brechin City and Stirling Albion, but the Bairns and Stirling have played one more game.

Group A

East Fife lead Group A with five points, with League One rivals Peterhead two behind after their respective victories. Championship outfit Dumbarton surprisingly sit bottom, with Premiership Dundee having a lot to do to top the group but with a game in hand over the Fifers.

Jack Baird scored St Mirren's winning goal against Ayr United

St Mirren manager Alex Rae

On BBC Radio Scotland

"We found it difficulty to get any intensity tonight.

"It was really warm out there and there was no spark.

"But I thought we dominated the second half and wee Lewis Morgan was sensational at driving at people.

"We have put ourselves in a decent position in the group now."

Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon

On BBC Radio Scotland

"The boys kept up a high temp and I'm delighted with the win.

"We played some nice stuff.

"Simon Murray scored a hat-trick tonight. He is hard working and that will do his confidence a world of good.

"I thought Lewis Toshney was immense bombing up from right back."

Full-time (Penalty shoot-out)

Berwick Rangers 4-5 Albion Rovers

Albion Rovers take the bonus point after the penalty shoot-out away to Berwick Rangers. That is the Coatbridge side's second League Cup draw, having lost their shoot-out to Greenock Morton on Saturday.

Ayr United manager Ian McCall

On BBC Radio Scotland

"They had the penalty, which was the best chance of the game.

"It was a poor game of football and to lose so late is disappointing as it was eaksy peaksy.

"We are four or five players short of what we need and that showed."

Falkirk manager Peter Houston

58th birthday boy on BBC Radio Scotland

"It is important to bounce back, especially as we played it like a friendly on Saturday.

"It could have been more and that is a slight disappointment."

All the games are now over apart from the late kick-off at Peterhead and that penalty shoot-out.
