Football, eh?

Leicester reach the Champions League last 16 as group winners. Tottenham crash out at the first hurdle. TWELVE goals are shared by Borussia Dortmund and Legia Warsaw. Yeah, in 90 minutes.

More drama than tonight's episode of Ordinary Lies. Let's see if Manchester City, Arsenal and co can provide more tomorrow. See you then!

We don't deserve to go through - Poch

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino , speaking to BT Sport: "We are out and we have time to assess and analyse. It is true we feel disappointed but today we missed opportunities.

"I think we made too many mistakes at home at Wembley. We don't deserve to go through to the next round because we didn't show enough quality.

"We will take many things from this defeat, you learn and improve every day. Now we are trying to reduce the gap on the teams above us in the Premier League."

Spurs fans, is it too raw for me to suggest an early Champions League exit could be beneficial? You know, focus on the league and all that. A home defeat against CSKA Moscow in the final game would avoid Europa League football too...

We must focus on PL now - Ranieri

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri: "Unbelievable. Top of the group - how? I am very happy and very proud. I'm happy for the players, the chairman, the fans, everyone.

"Now our mind must go on the Premier League. I want to push my players to think about the Premier League. Now we are top of the group our job is done.

"We are very close to relegation so we have to play at same level as in the Champions League. When we want to play for something we achieve something."

'I'd like to see Leicester get one of the big boys'

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Phil Neville

Former Manchester United defender on Radio 5live

I'd like to see Leicester to get a real top European side in the last 16 - one of the big boys.

They won't win the competition so I would like to see them rewarded by getting someone really special down to Leicester.

Claudio not bothered about last-16 opponents

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

So Leicester finishing as group winners means they will face one of the runners-up in the last 16.

But that could mean the Foxes might have to play Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. All will revealed in the coming weeks.

So who does Claudio Ranieri fancy in the knockout phase?

"It is not important to us," he laughs. "It is important for us to play and have fun with our fans."

Who's already through?

#UCL last 16: Arsenal, Atletico, Bayern, Dortmund, Juventus, Leicester, Leverkusen, Monaco, Paris, Real Madrid. Six spots remain...

'Alli looked 60% fit'

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Phil Neville

Former Manchester United defender on Radio 5 live

Dele Alli looked about 60% fit, at best.

I watched him in the warm-up and he had big strapping on his knee up to his thigh. I thought 'he can't be fit to play with that'.

His movement was slow and pedestrian. He had no mobility.

He is one of the brightest midfielders in this country, but he's just not fit.

'We're on a another journey!'

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri: "We're on another journey. I don't know where, but we're excited!

"We started well, we pressed, scored twice and kept possession. But after they scored we lost our way a little.

"Maybe we have been more concentrated in the Champions League. Now the group is won, important to come back in the Premier League."

Aharon Victor Gillie: So Leicester get one up on Tottenham again! What an achievement by Ranieri and the team.

'Spurs making naive decisions'

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Phil Neville

Former Manchester United defender on Radio 5live

What I've seen from the whole of the Tottenham team is that they've made naive decisions in the Champions League. That's what you do in Europe.

When we broke into the Manchester United team and played in Europe it took us two or three seasons to stop making mistakes.

You stop making mistakes because you get punished. We got punished severely in the first few seasons. This Tottenham team is being punished.

Positions you take in the Premier League don't get punished. Here they do.

'Conceding so quickly was schoolboy'

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Spurs striker Harry Kane on BT Sport: "It is disappointing.

"We got ourselves back in the game at 1-1 and it was schoolboy to concede straight after that.

"We had to try to grind out a win because we were not great tonight - the second goal took the stuffing out of us. I just don’t think on the day we were good enough.

"I'm gutted – we wanted to go far but it is something we will have to deal with.

"Losing two of our home games in this competition – yes, we played at Wembley this year but it has to be a fortress at home.

"We will look back and say it was the home games were we should’ve been better."

It's a funny old game as Greavesie used to say. Leicester struggle in the bread and butter of the Premier League, wolfing down the Champions League caviar. Vice versa for Tottenham.

Spurs, unquestionably, faced a tougher group. But they froze on the big stage, making basic mistakes and guilty of being naive.

Elsewhere around Europe

Borussia Dortmund were already assured of a last-16 place, but came a few minutes from clinching top spot in Group F.

They were on course with that scarcely-believable win against Legia Warsaw, only for Real Madrid's late winner at Sporting Lisbon to deny them.

That means it is a winner-takes-all scenario when Dortmund and Real meet in their final group game.

Elsewhere, Juventus won 3-1 at Sevilla to advance. The Spanish side must earn a point in their final game to join them.

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Leicester skipper Wes Morgan, speaking to BT Sport: "It is a fantastic feeling to reach the last 16. It is more than we could ever imagine. For Leicester to be newcomers and finish group winners it is an amazing achievement. A great result and a great performance."

Goalscorer Riyad Mahrez: "We wanted to finish first in the group. It wasn't easy today but we did it and happy to be first."

Dortmund 8-4 Legia Warsaw

A new Champions League record!

Eight different men on the scoresheet, Dortmund's Marco Reus leading the way with a hat-trick. Not a vintage night for lovers of fine defending.

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Phil Neville

Former Manchester United defender on Radio 5 live

A disappointing night for Spurs. Mauricio Pochettino looks absolutely fuming with his team and rightly so.

That's the worst I've seen them play all season. They were wide open at the back, disorganised in midfield.

The Champions League has been a real learning curve and they've been found out.

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Spurs are out. And in truth it was fully deserved defeat. A shadow of the side we see regularly tearing teams apart in the Premier League.

Dele Alli looks dejected

Leicester are through to the last 16! And Porto's goalless draw at Copenhagen means they finish as Group G winners.

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Tottenham corner swung in, headed clear. Almost all over.

Demarai Gray is denied by the keeper

Another counter attack and.....Demarai Gray is denied by the keeper.

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

To say they are chasing Champions League survival, Spurs aren't flying forward at 100 mph. Very pedestrian. But then they hoof it up and win a free-kick on the edge of the area...

Update from elsewhere...

Karim Benzema celebrates

Leonardo Bonucci has put Juventus in the lead at 84 minutes. It's Sevilla 1-2 Juventus there.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are proving why they are the Champions - they only need the draw but they want the win. Karim Benzema provides the header to take them 2-1 up against Sporting Lisbon.

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Over in Leicester... Three minutes for the home side to see out. Keep ball by the Foxes.

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Into stoppage time in Monaco. Four minutes. Come on!

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Harry Kane looks dejected

Need some hope Tottenham fans? Not got much to offer you. Not a sniff in the last few minutes.

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Straight up the other end...

Jelle Vossen - formerly of Burnley fame - scampers away from Robert Huth and on to a loose ball. Wide.

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Claudio Ranieri looks a little edgy. Can his side wrap it up? No! Demarai Gray is clean  through - straight at the keeper's knees.

Monaco 2-1 Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino reacts

Tottenham have to score. Sharpish. Oh, and Dele Alli misses a decent chance.

Harry Kane wriggles clear to force a corner, Alli arriving late at the far post to meet the swinging delivery.

But he is off balance and skews wide under pressure. Five to go...

Leicester 2-1 Club Brugge

Almost a sucker punch from Club Brugge. A right-wing corner is met by Benoit Poulain at the near post, but his glancing header flies across the Leicester goal. A white shirt desperately tries to dive in and meet it at the far post. Nervy times...

Madness in Dortmund...

Sporting Lisbon have equalised against Real Madrid. Adrien Silva's converted penalty taking it to 1-1.

Dinamo Zagreb are behind 0 - 1 to Lyon with Alexandre Lacazette breaking the deadlock.

Nothing changed in Spain where it's still Sevilla 1-1 Juventus

It has been a quiet game (comparatively) 0 - 0 between Copenhagen and Porto.

And it wasn't going to be long - in the space of a couple of minutes it went from 6-3 to 7-3 to 7-4 between Dortmund and Legia Warsaw...

This one is not even slightly done.

A few people have been tapping into the theme below...

Spurs paying the price from their Europa league exploits of recent seasons. They dismissed that competition, played weakened sides, were halfhearted in their efforts. You can't approach European football like that, you can't switch it on and off. Very poor.

Those plastic clackers loved by the Leicester fans are making a racket. The home supporters are trying to push their side over the line.

Not as comfortable it was about 25 minutes ago. But, as it stands, they are still going through as group winners.

Ten minutes to go...
