Over and out

Rightio, three lop-sided scorelines.

Manchester City are still some way short of emulating Barcelona legacy-builders.

Arsenal hit six as they make it seven wins on the trot.

And Celtic still have some way to go to mix it with the biggest boys.

Thanks for your company, see you later.

Barcelona 4-0 Man City

Former Manchester United defender at the Nou Camp for BBC Radio 5 live

We have seen what Pep Guardiola is going to do. They were fantastic against Everton on Saturday and should have won the game three or four goals to one.

He is taking City down a road which will improve them and City fans have to accept there will be performances like this where they will be punished for trying to play the Guardiola way.

After 50 minutes I was impressed with the tactics and how they were overloading the midfield and the game was there to be won but they were punished for sloppy errors.

Touche.

A Glasgow pub advertising coverage of Borussia Monchengladbach's match against Celtic gave up on spelling the visitors' team name on their blackboard and just went for 'a German team'.

Monchengladbach changed their Twitter name to 'a German team', but are now in full gloat mode.

'Till my last day as coach I will play from the goalkeeper'

Barcelona 4-0 Man City

Guardiola: "Till my very last day as coach I will try to play it from the goalkeeper. When we play good, it's because it starts from there."

If you want to get rid of Manchester City's build-from-the-back policy, it sounds like you are going to have to get rid of the manager.

It is a non-negotiable for Pep Guardiola.

It puts a whole heap of stress on his goalkeeper and centre-halves though. And makes for a whole lot of high-wire moments for the neutral to enjoy.

I am not sure on Claudio Bravo, the jury is still out and that is the problem.

From an English supporters point of view we have got Joe Hart who is number one and he has been loaned out for this lad to come in for the style of football. Yes Bravo has got more quality with this feet but he makes mistakes.

But he is going to make mistakes. It is something City fans will have to accept.

Pep Guardiola on BT Sport: On Claudio Bravo's red card: "I spoke with him, he was disappointed but it's part of the game.

"At that level it is hard, but until 10 against 11 it was open and we were competing against a team with a big personality. But after the card it was over. But every game since Celtic has been the same, against Everton it was the same with an own goal and two missed penalties. We need to change the atmosphere.

"We were there, we were in the game. We were pressing, we had the possession and we made the chances. We did it but we didn't take the chances and you have to do that to win the game

"We knew from the beginning it would be a tough group, now we have to focus on Southampton."

Sandeepmander: Stones is terrible! As a toffee, I hated it when he played. Full of mistakes. Now he has gone,we have one of the best defences!

Viv: On Arsenal's win, it was a great one! But on the other hand, they were playing a lower ranked team (no offense 2 Ludogorets).

Group C standings

Manchester City could easily be in third spot in Group C after the next round of matches.

On Tuesday 1 November, Barca travel to City. If the Catalans win and Borussia Monchengladbach do a job at home to Celtic, the Germans will leapfrog them in the standings.

City hard done by?

Barcelona 4-0 Man City

Manchester City had 47% possession and made a fair few raids up into the Barca box.

Four-nil was a bit of an unfair scoreline from their evening's work, but they did not force many nervy moments for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Anonymous: City bashing premature. They're playing the best team in the world and were excellent til the red card.

Many teams will come here and get beat but the Manchester CIty players were giving the ball away not following the instructions of Guardiola.

He wants more composure and will realise City have still got a way to go.

There are better teams in Europe than Barcelona this season but they were far better than Manchester City.

Confidence and vigilance

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, speaking to BT Sport: "Our confidence is stronger with every win but we have to keep the vigilance as well, and the urgency to bring that into the next game.

"Let's not be too quick on the verdict. We have a strong squad and a strong spirit, but you have to take care of it and keep your feet on the ground. The only way to win something big is to focus on the next one and work on humility."

Arjen Robben scored a fourth goal for Bayern Munich late in the game against PSV to seal a 4-1 win.

PSG won 3-0 against Basel and Atletico Madrid beat Rostov 1-0 away in Russia.

There was a shock in Italy as Napoli dropped their first points of the campaign losing 3-2 at home to a late Vincent Aboubakar goal for Besiktas.

Lucas in London: Another game that shows how far behind the Prems top sides are from Barca, Real, Atletico and bayern

Al in Manchester: Phil Neville talks sense. No way this is a 4 nil game. Silly mistakes make you look silly. Pep will not stand for that. Look out for some January transfer movement.

Dave in Manchester: Pep's got no one to blame but himself. He insisted on replacing England's No. 1 with that clown who thinks he's Beckenbauer. So frustrating, cos the outfield players have been largely excellent.

Arsenal 6-0 Ludogorets

Arsenal and Paris St Germain are dueling for top spot in Group A.

Their meeting at the Emirates on 23 November looks like it will decide who goes through at top seeds.

Man City are nowhere near the level Pep Guardiola wants them to be at.

I don't care who you are, you can suffer at Barcelona's front three but the disappointing thing for me was the quality of the passing, the mistakes, giving the ball away in silly areas.

Barcelona are only at 80 per cent of where they can be and this shows Manchester City are nowhere near Barcelona and will probably struggle to win the Champions League this year.

People always remember the last 30 minutes of a game but before that I was confident City were in the game.

They have just been punished for three sloppy errors when you play Barcelona, make them score, don't give them a gift.

I don't think it has been a 4-0 game. The only difference is Barcelona have been ruthless in taking their chances.

Sensational play from Barcelona.

Messi's feet were too quick and it was a certain penalty.

It was a really poor penalty. I didn't like Neymar's run-up and it was the perfect height for Caballero.

MISSED PENALTY

Barcelona 3-0 Man City

Neymar gives it the old Zaza two-step in his run-up and then plants his penalty to Wily Caballero's left, but it is comfortable height and not nearly far enough in the corner.

The City keeper pushes it clear.
