Next week

Next weekend there are just five matches on Saturday. Fans of Coleraine and Dungannon should take note - your teams meet at the Ballycastle Road Showgrounds on Friday night.

On Saturday, the top two clash at Windsor Park where Linfield will attempt to cut the gap on leaders Crusaders to just one point.

Hope you can join us then.

For now, we're working on getting today's goals up on the BBC Sport website ASAP.

As usual, there will be a comprehensive round-up of all the Irish Premiership action and talking points on the Irish League Show which goes up on the BBC iPlayer on Monday evening.

How they stand

Irish Premiership table

So Crusaders extend their lead at the top of the table, a week after suffering their first league defeat. Coleraine stay in third but are now a point ahead of Cliftonville whose three-match winning sequence came to a halt at the Oval.

Portadown's win at Ballinamallard means they can get on to zero points if they win at home to Ards next weekend, having had suffered a 12-point deduction in a disciplinary rap. Time for one-from-bottom Carrick to be looking nervously over their shoulders.

The fans have been patient with me. I was a bit heavy but have been working hard and I am happy again. The supporters have been outstanding. The new manager is a good man and has been making a lot of changes.

What they said

Ballinamallard United 1-2 Portadown

I've told the players that if they can get the club out of this impossible position they will be remembered for it. My main focus is on this squad and getting the players ready to play games.

What they said

Glenavon 5-0 Ballymena United

We needed that result today because we have had too many draws recently. The manager wanted a response from us and I think he got it.

What they said

Coleraine 1-1 Linfield

A draw was probably fair but it shows where we are when we are pushing Linfield in the second half and finished the stronger side. We are really happy with how the season has gone so far. We are a young team but will try to keep going and stick in behind Crusaders and Linfield.

What they said

Crusaders 3-1 Carrick Rangers

It was great to get the three goals, but the important thing was the win. It was an important three points after our defeat at Ballymena last week. It is looking strong for us but we are not paying any attention to other teams, and just focus on ourselves.
