Good night

FT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Celtic march on at the top, opening up a 14-point lead in the Premiership title race - or is it more of a stroll for Brendan Rodgers' side?

Scott Sinclair got the only goal against a Thistle side, who had their moments.

Read Richard Wilson's match report here.

No highlights tonight but we hope to have them available online tomorrow morning.

'Jags need to make chances count'

Partick Thistle assistant manager Scott Paterson on BBC Radio Scotland

"All credit to our players, they put in a real shift and gave Celtic a scare. We rode our luck at times but we're disappointed to lose a goal from a set-piece.

"We're creating chances but we need to make them count. It's something we need to keep working on.

"We've still got belief in the dressing room and we have a good run of games coming up. We need to start picking up points."

Amoo test good for Miller - Rodgers

FT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Brendan Rodgers explained that he gave Calvin Miller his debut against Partick Thistle specifically because he would be facing a very strong physical opponent in David Amoo - as it would show him "where he is at" in the 18-year-old's development.

'How are Thistle at the bottom?'

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Radio Scotland

"I think in parts it was good. When you fail to take your chances and it stays at 1-0, it always gets a bit hairy at the end.

"In the first half, our pressing and intensity was not good enough. But it was better in the seond half.

"Partick Thistle are a good side and I don't know how they are at the bottom of the league. They have plenty of energy.

"We made changes because it is a long season. We are blooding young players - I thought young Calvin did very well on his debut - so to come out of it with three points by showing the mentality to come out on top at the end was very pleasing."

Who's next?

FT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Thistle will need to recover quickly since they are off to Dingwall to meet Ross County on Friday.

Celtic are away to Hamilton Saturday.

Pat Bonner

Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

"That's as good a performance as I've seen from a team against Celtic this season. Thistle had a good balance about them and Ryan Edwards has just got incredible energy. They don't look like a bottom of the league team."

Job done for Celtic - again

FT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

That's three single-goal home wins on the trot for Brendan Rodgers side, who were scoring for fun earlier in the season.

Tomas Cerny did make a few good saves in the second half to keep the Jags in it but Celtic never got near top gear.

The manager has been making a lot of team changes from game to game and that might explain the lack of fluency.

FULL-TIME Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Fairytale of New York is playing at Celtic Park the moment after referee Euan Anderson sounds the final whistle but, unlike the song, this game was no classic.

Celtic were nowhere near their best but they keep piling up the wins. That's 12 league victories in a row and a very healthy 14-point lead at the top.

Thistle had some good openings but could not make them count. They remain bottom of the Premiership pile after Scott Sinclair's first-half strike.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Now Danny Devine is up in attack, with the big Jags defender making a horrible mess of a very ambitious long-range effort when another cross into the penalty area may have been the smarter approach.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Ziggy Gordon launches a long free kick into the Celtic box and the hosts repel it without any fuss. Is that it for Thistle?

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

We're getting three minutes of stoppage-time...

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Celtic sub Leigh Griffiths gets the head down and puts the laces through a shot that fizzes into the side-netting. Close to the 90-minute mark now...

League One full-time

East Fife are 1-0 winners at Stenhousemuir, thanks to Kevin O'Hara's early goal.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Final change for the visitors, with Kris Doolan replacing Ade Azeez, who has run out of steam after a good shift up front on his own.

GREAT SAVE!

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Stuart Armstrong glides forward and sends a curling shot on target but Thistle keeper Tomas Cerny is equal to it, with another fine diving stop.

Thistle lacking sting in front of goal

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

"I don't think Thistle would have expected to have this number of chances. Good chances too," says BBC Sportsound pundit Derek Ferguson.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Leigh Griffiths involved straight away, heading over the top from a free kick.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Celtic make their final change, with Leigh Griffths replacing Moussa Dembele up front. Can the substitute make it four goals in four games.

Thistle also shuffle things around as Adam Barton takes over from Sean Welsh.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Thistle break and another very good chance is squandered as Callum Booth delivers a wonderful cross for Chris Erskine, who swings - and misses - from eight yards. A tad embarrassing. The ball breaks to Sean Welsh and all he can do is send a tame shot straight at Craig Gordon.

GREAT SAVE!

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Tomas Cerny is having a good night now after copping flak for the goal. This time he gets fingertips to a powerful Moussa Dembele strike.

Celtic in control but on edge

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Richard Wilson

BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

Celtic are still in control of the scoreline, but Thistle have spurned two clear chances this half. Edwards, Azeez and Amoo have all troubled the central defensive pairing of Lustig and Simunovic, who have both lacked concentration at times. The longer that it remains a single-goal lead, the more ambitious Thistle will become and Celtic's defence does not look as sound as it has been.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

And that is Sinclair's last act this evening as he jogs off to be replaced by Stuart Armstrong.

GREAT SAVE!

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Scott Sinclair breaks through for a one-on-one but is denied a second goal as Tomas Cerny spreads himself well and saves with his legs.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Thistle make a change as Chris Erskine comes on for David Amoo.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Sean Welsh is booked for a trip on Celtic skipper Scott Brown. The free kick is in a very promising position, just outside the box, but Moussa Dembele can only hit the defensive wall.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Thistle right-back Ziggy Gordon charges forward almost 50 yards and suddenly he can see the whites of Craig Gordon's eyes. The shot is on the angle and he drags it wide of the far post. Another good chance wasted for the visitors.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Warm applause for Calvin Miller as the teenage debutant is replaced by Emilio Izaguirre at left-back.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

We're approaching the hour mark and Thistle are still hanging in there. Three of their last four league visits to Celtic Park have been 1-0 defeats.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Patrick Roberts has another pop at goal but this time his shot flies over the top. A much livelier tempo now...

GREAT SAVE!

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Tomas Cerny perhaps redeems himself for the goal by making a vital block as Patrick Roberts sizes up his options from eight yards. A great reflex stop to keep out the Celtic winger's shot.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Another Thistle corner. This time Sean Welsh's delivery is flicked off target by Abdul Osman.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Now Thistle come forward and a David Amoo takes aim for the front post, only for a deflection to take it wide. From the corner, Liam Lindsay threatens with a powerful header but it flashes wide.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Moussa Dembele means business as he latches on to pass from Patrick Roberts and thunders in a shot that takes a deflection on its way wide of the target.

Great movement from the Celtic striker, who was a bit off the pace in the first half.

KICK-OFF

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

We're off again. No changes in personnel.

HT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Unless Thistle can come up with something after the interval, Celtic are on their way to a 12th straight league win and that would lift them 14 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Premiership.

HT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

BBC Sportsound pundit Pat Bonner may be praising the visitors but he wasn't too impressed by keeper Tomas Cerny for the goal. Scott Sinclair's shot wasn't too far away when it whizzed past him. Was he unsighted or just too slow to react?

Clinical Celtic, wasteful Thistle

HT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Richard Wilson

BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

Rather than be cowed by conceding the opening goal, Thistle have continued to be lively and adventurous. There remains a lack of composure in the final third, but the harrying and prompting of Ryan Edwards, in particular, and the strength of Ade Azeez up front, has made it an awkward night at times for the Celtic defence. Even so, the home side lead and have the individuals on the field who can carry the most attacking threat, in Sinclair, Dembele and Roberts. Celtic have looked a little out of sorts at times, their play lacking its usual cutting edge and dynamism, but they are capable of raising their game in the second half, while Thistle might regret the half-chances they accrued but failed to take.

HT: Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Pat Bonner

Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

"I've been impressed by Partick Thistle. They have pressed high up the pitch and shown a really good appetite. But, how many times have we said it? When you get chances at a place like this, you have to take them. Celtic have definitely not had it all their own way."

HALF-TIME Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Scott Sinclair's goal separates the sides but it hasn't been a vintage Celtic performance on a cold, wet night.

Thistle striker Ade Azeez is causing a few problems and should have done better when through on goal shortly before the break.

Celtic 1-0 Partick Thistle

Ade Azeez has been a real handful for the Celtic defence and Jozo Simunovic is booked for a tug on the big striker.
