Good night one and all

So it's another win for Real Madrid then, a 12th European Cup in the trophy cabinet - as many as AC Milan and Barcelona combined.

Gigi Buffon's wait runs on then.

Scotland v England next Saturday? It's a date.

The greatest player-turned-manager?

Since taking over in January 2016, Zinedine Zidane has won five trophies with Real Madrid including two Champions Leagues, one La Liga title, a UEFA Super Cup and the 2016 Club World Cup.

Namz: Zinedine Zidane won the UCL as a player, won the UCL as an Assistant Coach, became a full Coach and won it twice before Arsene Wenger.

Francis: Zidane is a legend as a player and a coach.

AtourT: Can't help thinking Zidane doesn't get the credit he deserves. If Pep had done what he has the last 18 months people would be going nuts.

'Real showed their class'

Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus goalkeeper: "We are disappointed. We played very well in the first half, we thought we had enough to win the game.

"I cannot explain why we played like we did in the second half. Real Madrid deserved to win in the second half. They showed their class and the attitude needed to play in this kind of game."

'I deserve it'

Juventus 1-4 Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo: "I prepared myself for this, you win the biggest prizes because of what you do at the end of the season.

"Zidane gave us a very positive half-time team talk and told us he really believed in us. It has been an incredible end to the season by us. We are the first team to win it two years in a row and I scored two goals.

"It's another record for us and the players deserve it and so do I because I scored twice and I'm the top scorer in the Champions League."

'I didn't think it was possible'

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos: "I didn't expect that it was possible to defend this title, it is so difficult to win it once.

"To win it three times in four years means a lot and it is not only a good team on the pitch, but off the pitch, I am happy to be part of it.

"Everybody knows that Cristiano is very important. As a team we played very well in the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and today but you need a guy to score the goals and he did it again.

"Juventus are a very good defensive side but we showed our quality."

European glory

Ruud van Nistelrooy has paid tribute to his two former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid for their European success this season.

He's definitely one of the best players never to have won either trophy for himself...

Real Madrid have won their last six European Cup finals, last losing one in 1981 versus Liverpool.

Juventus 1-4 Real Madrid

Gerard Pique started the trend of snipping pieces of the net after a big win and now they are all at it. Keylor Navas and Alvaro Morata have found some scissors from somewhere and are butchering the goal.

Not everyone enjoyed that game...

I had a fiver at 66/1 on Ronaldo to score first and Madrid to win 3-1. Asensio has ruined my evening.

Dan from Eastry

Gareth Bale has now won as many European Cups - three- as Franz Beckenbauer, Johan Cruyff and Kenny Dalglish. Very impressive stuff.

How good is this Real Madrid side?

Johnny Magrinho: Genuinely think Juve would have beaten anyone else - just not this Real side. They are ridiculously good.

Sean: Real Madrid is the club every player wants to be at. Do they even need to sign anyone? Cant see anyone breaking into their team.

Messi and Barcelona eat your hearts out!

Real Madrid were incredible tonight. Juventus contributed to a fantastic game of football. It was very even in the first half but in the second half they were simply outstanding.

On that Mandzukic goal...

Alan Shearer

Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

It was a great strike. The technique was excellent and there was no chance the goalkeeper was going to stop it. He took a gamble and it paid off. Great goal!

Juventus 1-4 Real Madrid

The Real players have put home kits on over their away kits. Gareth Bale has a third Champions League winner's medal around his neck.

Juventus are now up to get their medals. A painful feeling without a doubt, but maybe better to lose 4-1 than lose on penalties or be seconds away from winning, as Atletico Madrid were in both of their recent defeats to Real Madrid.

This was an excellent opportunity for him. He usually gets great protection in front of him but there wasn't any in the second-half this evening and you have to feel for him.

This is a long, long wait for the trophy presentation. The Juventus players look like they want to get home and who could blame them?

Premier League playing catch-up...

Can English teams compete?

Alan Shearer

Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

When you look at the two teams on show tonight, it's clear there's a long way our teams need to go to reach this standard. It will take a lot of work and a lot of big signings to catch even Juventus.

Better than Forest?

Is it the end for Bale?

That's another decision the manager got right. Isco has been superb and he had to make a choice with Bale tonight. It's been a very successful move for him to Madrid so he will decide on his future.

The stats for a lot of this season for when Bale has been out doesn't favour him well though so they will have to look at that.

He will have options from the biggest clubs in the Premier League if Madrid decide to sell him that's for sure.

'Modric was incredible'

Alan Shearer

Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

He was incredible. The way he controlled the pace - particularly in the second half was just excellent. He was the one guy picking the passes and turning opponents. He was driving his team forward. He dominated the midfield. It was an excellent performance from Modric.

'Juve fans expected to win'

Juventus 1-4 Real Madrid

John Bennett

BBC World Service in Turin

You could hear a pin drop here with each goal, I am surrounded by 40,000 fans in Turin and it's a scene of huge disappointment.

The wait goes on, they have not lifted the cup since 1996. Two years ago against Barcelona they were happy to be there but they expected to win tonight.

They had only conceded three goals all season.

A big one to ignore.....

Niall Curran: Real deserving of win - ignoring that fees were 7 years apart, amazing to think Higuain cost just £5m less than Ronaldo.

Harsh words for Ramos

Shocking decision from the ref decides the match in Real's favour (again). Probably a yellow for Ramos for the challenge (out of control - irrelevant if he gets the ball); definitely a second yellow for his pathetic simulation. Real con the ref again.

Matt from London

Brilliant play acting by Ramos has put the seal on the Madrid win. Such cynical cheating is really underrated in the modern game, but so vital in the modern game, snuffed out any chance of a late comeback - my man of the match.

Praise for Zidane

Alan Shearer

Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Zidane's answered questions spectacularly tonight. The way he has handled the big players and the confidence he has shown in the role has been excellent. Not for once in that second-half did they ever feel in danger of losing that game.

He 's achieved something very special here this evening. To be the first to retain the trophy since 1990 - you can't underestimate that. It's too easy to say he's got amazing players because you have to handle them. He has and he's done it with such good style.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale: "What an incredible scene. The city has done an immaculate job in hosting a great event. To win this at home is a great feeling, it's been a hard season, I've worked tirelessly to get fit and these are your rewards.

"We have made history, we'll enjoy this moment now.. We needed confidence at half-time, and we had to take our chances which we did.

"I was happy to get on."

Game over

Alan Shearer

Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Whatever Zidane said to them at half-time worked to perfection. The ability they have shown in the second half...

It has been dominant. It was great to watch. The way Ronaldo took his second goal, the way he floated into the space...

Juventus were outdone. They were outdone by Ronaldo and the quick play from Real Madrid. You have to give them huge credit.

They were just too good and too quick for that Juventus team in the second-half.
