Thanks for joining us today. I'm off to catch my breath. And write a match report. Until next time... goodbye.
- Deeney volleys Watford ahead
- Tadic equalises for the Saints, before Redmond scores on stroke of half-time
- Okaka equalises for Watford on 80 minutes
Can't beat a seven-goal match, you got your money's worth.
Abdoulaye Doucoure taps home from close range from M'Baye Niang's cross.
Injury time now at Vicarage Road.
Got your breath back?
30 seconds before those two Saints goals, Watford really should have been ahead but Stefano Okaka was wasteful on the attack.
30 seconds later it's 3-2 and another minute later it's 4-2.
So much space for Nathan Redmond, he dribbles into the box and lashes his shot in past Heurelho Gomes.
Poor defending, poor keeping. Two goals in two minutes for the Saints and they are home and dry.
Moment after Stefano Okaka should have made it 3-2 to Watford, the Saints go down the other end and score.
Not a great moment from Heurelho Gomes. The Brazilian spills Sofiane Boufal shot straight into the path of Manolo Gabbiadini and the Italian does not miss from there.
Six goals in four games, the first Saints player to score in his first three Premier League appearances for the club.
Wasn't expecting that.
Isaac Success puts the ball on a plate for Stefano Okaka and the Italian does the rest to prod home from six yards.
12 minutes to go here at Vicarage Road.
James Ward-Prowse is off, Sofiane Boufal is on. The Saints want a third.
Terrible free-kick by Watford.
Tom Cleverley takes it, he passes it short to Jose Holebas, but the Greek international stutters on his approach and somehow forces a corner. Sure it looked great on the training ground lads.
Soon after Troy Deeney has a chance but slices his shot wide.
That was a great chance for Watford.
Oriol Romeu was so causal in possession, he had the ball taken off him by Tom Cleverley, who played in Stefano Okaka, but the Italian you have to say wasted the chance.
Stefano Okaka, who has spent most of the game raging at the ref, has his chance to equalise but shoots low and Fraser Forster saves with his feet.
Sebastian Prodl - man bun and all - is booked.
Watford have not been great in this second half. Southampton should be out of sight, but there is still only one goal in it.
The Southampton front four of Nathan Redmond, James Ward-Prowse, Manolo Gabbiadini and Dusan Tadic are causing Watford a whole host of problems.
Meanwhile Isaac Success has just come on for Etienne Capoue, he runs into Cedric Soares' shoulder and hits the deck.
Think he might have been fishing for a foul there.
Watford are readying the changes, with the wonderfully named Isaac Success receiving some instructions.
They need some Isaac Inspiration here.
Heurelho Gomes makes a diving save to stop Maya Yoshida's header.
James Ward-Prowse takes the corner and it is cleared as far as Dusan Tadic on the edge of the box.
The Serbia international then decides to have a shot and puts his laces through it to force a save from Heurelho Gomes.
Saints on the break, it's three on two. Dusan Tadic wastes the opportunity, but wins a corner.
Manolo Gabbiadini outstrips Miguel Britos for pace down the left and cuts inside, he should score but takes the unselfish route, to Southampton's detriment.
Stefano Okaka needs to calm down. Already on a yellow, he looks like a man on the edge. Fair to say Jonathan Moss is not his favourite person right now.
Apparently Southampton have played 11 more games this season that Watford. Shows you the effect of a run in the EFL Cup and the Europa League.
Still the Saints lead.
The half hasn't really kicked into gear yet. Watford have had the best of the early exchanges but the final ball is poor.
Troy Deeney has a problem with his eye.
The Watford captain seemed to catch the back of Cedric Soares' head and receive treatment. He seems OK though and is back on the pitch.
Second-half is under way at Vicarage Road.
Can the home side find a response?
Football Focus presenter Dan Walker and pundit Dean Saunders have been casting their eyes over some of the best goals from the first round of the FA People's Cup.....
You can watch a highlights programme from the first round of the FA People's Cup on the iPlayer and on the red button from 14:10 GMT on Saturday and throughout the weekend.
What a lovely goal and what a time to get it.
Nathan Redmond spearheads the attack, he plays the ball to James Ward-Prowse, who finds Dusan Tadic on the right who then cuts back for Redmond, who squeezes his shot into the far post.
EFL Cup hangover? What hangover?
This is just the tonic for the Saints.
Stefano Okaka is booked for dissent, he's insistent he should have had a foul.
Southampton are really struggling with the Watford set pieces today.
M'Baye Niang leads the Watford attack on the break and wins a corner.
Manolo Gabbiadini is there to clear the danger from the set piece and sends the ball out for a throw-in.
A Saints free-kick is taken by James Ward-Prowse, but it is not a great effort and flies wide.
Manolo Gabbiadini with a chance, but as the Italian tries to control the pass, Heurelho Gomes flies out to clear with a header.
Manolo Gabbiadini then puts Tom Cleverley's long free-kick behind for a corner.
Cleverley takes the corner and Jonathan Moss blows his whistle as Dusan Tadic is bundled over. A lot of pushing and shoving at Watford corners today.
