'Judas is number one'

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chelsea

Jose Mourinho was, rather bizarrely, labelled as 'Judas' during that game and he has had a little bite back.

He said: "They can call me what they want.

"Until the moment they have a manager that wins four Premier Leagues for them, I'm the number one.

"When they have somebody that wins four Premier Leagues for them, I become number two. Until this moment Judas is number one."

What's next?

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Manchester United

United have the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie with Rostov to navigate on Thursday before heading to Middlesbrough on Sunday.

They will be without Ander Herrera and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the next two Premier League games. Potentially Marcos Rojo too?

What's next?

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chelsea

Chelsea have a trip to Stoke to look forward to on Saturday before they host Palace and then Manchester City after the international break.

Everyone knew Chelsea were the favourites and rightly so but for Man Utd to lose under such circumstances is so frustrating. Not to mention that once again the major talking point is the officials.

Tim, London

The more you see Pogba the less impressive he becomes. Even Jones outshone him in midfield. He's all marketing brand and tweets, he needs to deliver and soon. Awful.

Frustrated of Manchester

Chasing shadows

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Manchester United had just 28% possession, their lowest figure in a single match this season.

'Hazard couldn't play'

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte: "It was a good performance against a strong team with good players. United has the best squad in the league. For us we must be pleased to go into the next round."

On the red card: "I think Hazard started the game and couldn't play. All the people look at this and then judge."

BBC pundits rave about Kante (again)

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

N'Golo Kanet
PA
One of these men was head and shoulders above the other tonight

Frank Lampard:  "I compared him to Claude Makelele last season, but he's got even more to his game than Makelele."

Phil Neville: "He breaks up play and then sometimes he finishes it off too. He's the most effective midfielder in Europe at the moment. I don't see anyone with the influence he has on team. He's a number 6, an 8 and a 10."

Alan Shearer:  "The energy he has is staggering."

Rojo stamp?

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Did Marcos Rojo stamp on Eden Hazard in the second half? I missed that during the game but the replay doesn't look good.

Hard to judge a player's intent in those situations of course.

Einar: Pogba always yards from any player when defending. When Kanté took the shot he didn't even make an effort to block the shot.

George Thorpe: That's Chelsea into the final. Spurs can't win at Wembley this season

'A referee with fantastic potential'

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Manchester United

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: "I don't speak [about the red card]. I just want to say that I'm really proud of my players and Manchester United fans.

"We have a very important match on Thursday and I want to rest a little bit and prepare as best as we can.

"Everybody can analyse from different perspectives but we all watch the match until the red card and after the red card. So we can compare the decisions of the two yellow cards, in this case with others which were not given.

"I don't want to go in that direction. Michael Oliver is a referee with fantastic potential but in four matches he has given three penalties and a red card. I cannot change that.

"I shook his hand and said many congratulations."

So no north London derby but a London derby and whichever way you slice it, two massive games.

They will be played at Wembley on 22-23 April.

It's not a stat which matters too much but an indicator of success.

'A beautiful win'

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chelsea

Chelsea matchwinner N'Golo Kante:  "I'm happy to score again, we're happy for the win. It was a beautiful win.

"It was a tough game, Manchester United are a good team. But once they had a player sent off it was easier.

"It is a pleasure to go to the next round and now to try to get to the final."

'Kante the best in the world'

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Frank Lampard

Former England midfielder on BBC One

"I would go so far as to say N'Golo Kante is the best central midfield player in the world right now."

'It was a professional performance'

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chelsea

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill: "We keep the momentum going. We dug in and gave a good account of ourselves. It was professional from us, we controlled the game when we needed to.

"It [the red card] turned it in our favour. I've not seen it so I am not sure. But there were fouls leading up to that so it was possibly silly to go in like that. We complained as we thought they were going in on Eden.

"N'Golo [Kante] has been fantastic. You saw what he did last season but he has kicked on again this season. He is so important, especially to us at the back."

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Jose Mourinho did keep hold of referee Michael Oliver's hand though. For quite some time...

Jose Mourinho walks on to pitch and congratulates his players, he thinks they will have put in a valiant display.

Chelsea were brilliant again at Stamford Bridge. Kante was the best player on the pitch.

It has set up an unbelievable pair of semi-finals.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

I didn't see Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho shake each other's hands to be honest.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho congratulate their players as the cameras pick out referee Michael Oliver.

His decision to send off Ander Herrera will be under the microscope. It's all well mannered on the pitch actually.

BreakingCHELSEA INTO THE SEMIS

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Time to get your Jose Mourinho post-match interview bingo cards ready. It could be a return to just naming minutes tonight.

Minute 35 being the key one. Chelsea have a throw deep in their own half.

SUBSTITUTION

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Two minutes of added time left, Chelsea trying to kill the game in the corners. They send on Michy Batshuayi to eat up some more time and replace Diego Costa.

CLOSE!

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chris Smalling gives the ball to Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea can counter. Fabregas to Diego Costa, Phil Jones backpeddling at a rate of knots. Back to Fabregas, saved by David de Gea, out to Eden Hazard, back in - blocked!

INJURY TIME

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

FOUR minutes are added on as Marcus Rashford puts a low cross in and it's hacked out by David Luiz. Have United got another late show in the tank?

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Manchester United now having their longest spell of pressure in the whole second half, it ends with a long ball towards Marouane Fellaini, the first time they've tried that. It's cut out.

SUBSTITUTION

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

N'Golo Kante is given the man of the match award. It's his goal which is taking Chelsea through as Kurt Zouma replaces Victor Moses.

YELLOW CARD

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Diego Costa goes down clutching his face on the touchline, unnecessary really, but he's soon back up.

He then takes Phil Jones out late and is booked. Not a great night from the big man.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Well defended Antonio Valencia to cut out a Marcos Alonso cross, Marcos Rojo had abandoned his station to bomb on up front. Now or never I suppose.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United

Chelsea seven minutes from the semis, Manchester United seven minutes from Euston.

Can they find a leveller? They need to find the ball first. Chelsea keeping it.

That's the first bit of possession Manchester United have managed to have in the second half. You think 'go on, get it on target and make the keeper work'. But it was difficult because Pogba was under pressure.
