But, the action all resumes on Friday night with Brighton against Derby County in the Championship.

We'll have full live coverage of that game from the Amex Stadium right here on BBC Sport to kick-off our weekend of EFL coverage.

Until then - thanks for being with us.

Wigan move within two points of safety, as Dan Burn's first-half goal was enough to earn victory at Birmingham City, who are now only eight points above the relegation zone.

Blackburn scored late to earn a 1-1 draw with Cardiff, meaning they are now unbeaten in four games under Tony Mowbray.

Rovers are two points above 22nd-placed Bristol City, who drew 1-1 with Norwich, while Wolves stay one point above the Robins in 21st after a goalless draw with Ipswich.

There was also a late goal at Pride Park as Tom Barkhuizen equalised for Preston at Derby.

Meanwhile, the highest-scoring game of the day came at the City Ground, as Brentford held on to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2, having led 3-0 heading into the final 10 minutes.

Heartbreak for Scunthorpe, joy for Charlton.

Jorge Teixeira is dragged back in the box and a penalty is given. Tony Watt steps up and scores and it's 2-1 to the Addicks.

It looks like eight games without a win for Scunthorpe now.

Four minutes being added on at the end of the 90....

Reading 0-0 Newcastle

Last couple of minutes to play and Rafael Benitez throws on Mo Diame for Jack Colback in his final change of the night.

League One & Two round-up

Sheffield United are now eight points clear at the top of League One after 26-goal top-scorer Billy Sharp netted twice to help them to a 3-2 win at Oxford.

Walsall beat Chesterfield 1-0 and they're still playing at Charlton where Kevin van Veen has scored a second-half equaliser for Scunthorpe.

Reading 0-0 Newcastle

Approaching the last five minutes at the Madejski Stadium and still no goals.

Can Newcastle find one to maintain their five-point lead over Brighton?

Fulham 1-1 Leeds

And that stunning finish from Cairney is pretty much the final kick of the night.

Fulham finally got their goal after pressing and pressing all evening.

It started as a nightmare for them with Tim Ream's early own goal before a shot off the underside of the crossbar from Neeskins Kebano was not given.

GOAL - Fulham 1-1 Leeds

Tom Cairney

Wow. That's a cracking late goal for Fulham who have been banging on the proverbial door.

Tom Cairney with the curling left-foot shot from the edge of the box in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

And it has indeed finished goalless at Portman Road. Zzzzzz.

My word, that sounded like one to miss in Suffolk tonight.....

Bore draw

Championship latest

I think the faces of Mick McCarthy and Paul Lambert sum up proceedings at Portman Road tonight.

Goalless between Ipswich and Wolves and the Tractor Boys are heading for their sixth draw in seven Championship matches.

Wolves look set to halt their five-game league losing streak, but are still bang in relegation trouble.

Fulham 0-1 Leeds

Could be a late twist at Craven Cottage.

Kalvin Phillips collects a second booking of the night for Leeds and the visitors are down to 10 men as we approach stoppage time.

Approaching last knockings in most of tonight's games. Time for some more late twists?

GOAL - Blackburn 1-1 Cardiff

Derrick Williams

Tony Mowbray's unbeaten start to life as Blackburn manager might be set to go on a little longer.

Connor Mahoney drifts in a left-footed cross from the right, and the ball falls for Derrick Williams to finish from close range.

Derrick Williams

Reading 0-0 Newcastle

Into the last 20 minutes in our later Championship kick-off.

The leaders still to find a breakthrough but a chance from a Darryl Murphy header is clambered off the line by Ali Al Habsi diving low to his left.

Garath McCleary then tries his luck from distance for Reading but just wide of goal.

Huddersfield 1-0 Aston Villa

Ian Woodcock

BBC Sport at John Smith's Stadium

Aston Villa have created precious little since going behind.

The visitors have notably tired in this second period as the hosts have taken control.

Five minutes to go.

Robins level with Canaries

Championship latest

Bailey Wright
Rex Features

How big a goal could this be for Bristol City and head coach Lee Johnson?

Lee Tomlin's strike is blocked, but it falls to Bailey Wright  to bundle the ball over the line from close range and draw the Robins level with Norwich.

As it stands, that goal pulls the hosts back to within a point of Blackburn, who still trail Cardiff 1-0, and Wolves, who are being held to a goalless draw by Ipswich.

Elsewhere, Barnsley have pulled a goal back against QPR, Tom Bradshaw  rounding the keeper and slotting in to make it 2-1.

Teenager Ben Brereton has netted a consolation for Nottingham Forest from about three inches. It's still 3-1 to Brentford.

Fulham 0-1 Leeds

Approaching the last five minutes at Craven Cottage and Fulham continue to press for an equaliser.

Ryan Sessegnon and Scott Parker both go close to scoring, but Parker sees a shot flash over the crossbar.

Who'd be a manager?

Huddersfield 1-0 Aston Villa

Anyone want to give Brucey a hug? His Aston Villa side have just over five minutes to find an equaliser.

GOAL - Rotherham 0-2 Brighton

Solly March

Into the last 10 minutes and Brighton looked to have sealed a very welcome win after successive defeats.

Solly March cut in from the right wing and then fired in low to the bottom corner. Lewis Price couldn't quite get down to stop it.

GOAL - Rotherham 0-2 Brighton

Solly March

Fulham 0-1 Leeds

Close for Leeds to a second goal of the night.
