Karim Benzema scored twice as Real Madrid overcame the absence of injured Cristiano Ronaldo and suspended Gareth Bale to beat Eibar.

The striker scored from a rebound after Yoel had saved his initial effort and then turned home James Rodriguez's free-kick to double Real's lead.

Benzema set up the third with a cross which Rodriguez slid home over Yoel. Marco Asensio scored a fourth after Rodriguez's effort hit the post before a late Ruben Pena consolation.

Real are now two points above Barcelona at the top of La Liga, but Barca will go back to the top if they beat Celta Vigo at 19:45 GMT.

This live is finished now but we will be back for live coverage of the Barca game. See you then.

FULL-TIME

Eibar 1-4 Real Madrid

It's all over.

INJURY TIME

Two minutes added on as everyone goes through the motions.

Mariano's cross almost reaches Isco but Eibar defender Mauro dos Santos gets enough of a touch to get it away from the Spain international.

SUBSTITUTION

Sergi Enrich fires high and wide for Eibar under pressure from Pepe. The hosts make a late change as Takashi Inui replaces Pedro Leon.

That Ruben Luna effort was Eibar's first ever La Liga goal against Real Madrid at Ipurua, by the way.

Keylor Navas has already conceded 32 goals in all competitions this campaign, one more than he did in the whole of last season.

Eibar are pushing people forward in a bid to score a second but Real Madrid - without any of the 'BBC' up front at this stage - look comfortable.

SUBSTITUTION

On comes Isco, off comes James Rodriguez as Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane freshens things up.

GOAL - Eibar 1-4 Real Madrid

Ruben Pena

Ruben Pena pulls one back for Eibar after turning home a Pedro Leon cross at the far post. Real think Leon committed a foul on Nacho in the build-up.

SUBSTITUTION

Real Madrid make a change as Mateo Kovacic replaces Luka Modric in an all-Croatian midfielder sub.

DISALLOWED GOAL

Eibar think they have pulled one back but Gonzalo Escalante is offside as he turns the ball home following Keylor Navas' save from Sergi Enrich.

SUBSTITUTION

There will be no hat-trick for Karim Benzema today. Off he comes, with Mariano replacing him.

YELLOW CARD

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is booked, which means he's suspended for their next La Liga game - against Real Betis.

GOAL - Eibar 0-4 Real Madrid

Marco Asensio

Real Madrid score a fourth after breaking from their own half.  Marco Asensio plays the ball across goal to James Rodriguez, whose shot hits the post.

The ball lands back at Asensio's feet and he turns into an empty net from a tight angle.

SUBSTITUTION

Eibar have a rare attack but Pepe heads a cross away under pressure. The hosts now make an enforced change in defence as Antonio Luna comes off for Anaitz Arbilla.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema probably should have a hat-trick as he beat the offside trap before playing g the ball across the goal from close range. The visitors look fairly comfortable.

Franck Ribery has totally wrapped up Bayern Munich's game at Cologne. That's 3-0 now. Meanwhile, Andre Schurrle has put Borussia Dortmund 5-2 up against Bayer Leverkusen.

KICK-OFF

Eibar 0-3 Real Madrid

The second half is under way now. Can Eibar perform a miracle?

The players are in the tunnel at Eibar's Ipurua Municipal Stadium and it's almost time for the second half.

German Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund are now 4-2 up against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, with 18-year-old United States forward Christian Pulisic scoring.

Hoffenheim lead Ingolstadt by the same scoreline.

HALF-TIME

Eibar 0-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid are going to be going to the top of La Liga, unless Eibar have a comeback for the ages in their locker after the break.

Eibar keeper Yoel makes a couple of saves in the space of 20 seconds to keep the score down. First he denies Karim Benzema at his near post, and then keeps out Marco Asensio's effort.

It's almost a fourth for Real Madrid as Marco Asensio curls a 20-yard shot just wide.

John McEnerney:  Don't write off Eibar just yet, Real are prone of late to making life hard for themselves in games they should have killed off!

Italian Serie A

In Italy, Napoli have beaten Roma 2-1 in the battle for second place and the final automatic Champions League spot.

Kevin Strootman gave Roma hope in the 89th minute and they almost rescued a draw when Diego Perotti forced a great save from Pepe Reina in the closing moments.

Juventus are now seven points clear at the top, with a game in hand. Napoli are only two points behind second-placed Roma though.

Eibar do almost have a way back into this game, but Sergi Enrich's effort is blocked by Sergio Ramos before Keylor Navas can save it. A rare attack for the hosts.

So, I'm not really sure what you're all still doing here. We know this game is over as a contest.

Oh, what's that - you want to see how many goals Real Madrid win by? In that case, stick around.

GOAL - Eibar 0-3 Real Madrid

James Rodriguez

It's all over at Eibar - with an hour left to go. Karim Benzema gets an assist to add to his two goals. His cross from the right is turned home, over keeper Yoel, by a sliding James Rodriguez.

Real are going back into top spot.

Karim Benzema's double today has ended his longest La Liga goal drought since March-May 2014. He had not scored in seven league games before today.

GOAL - Eibar 0-2 Real Madrid

Karim Benzema

It's Eibar 0-2 Karim Benzema. James Rodriguez whips across a free-kick from the right, which Benzema pokes home from close range. Eibar's defence seemed to switch off. Casemiro would have turned it home, had Benzema not.

It looks like Bayern Munich are going seven points clear the top of the Bundesliga after Juan Bernat has lashed them into a 2-0 lead at Cologne.

Eibar have their first shot of the game but Gonzalo Escalante's effort from outside the box is well over the bar.

Eibar haven't crumbled after that Real Madrid goal, but the European champions are looking fairly comfortable since taking the lead.

GOAL - Eibar 0-1 Real Madrid

Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema has taken his big chance as Real Madrid's only first-choice forward today.

His first effort is saved by Yoel, but the ball lands straight back at the Real striker who lashes home the rebound.

Karim Benzema tries to take on Ivan Ramis, the former Wigan defender, but concedes a free-kick for fouling the Eibar player.

Karim Benzema has the ball in the box, he tries to take a defender on the outside but just runs the ball out for a goal-kick. Good defending/bad attacking. It's a big day for the France striker.

It's not really been an electric start, pretty much 50-50 on possession so far. No chances to tell you about.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is almost in on goal after 30 seconds but Ander Capa gets in a last-ditch challenge to deny him.

KICK-OFF

Eibar 0-0 Real Madrid

We are under way in the Basque Country.
