'We fought like never before'

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to BBC Sport: " Frustrated is a tough word. We didn't win but we didn't lose. We created a lot of chances and they didn't. We tried. We made everything and fought like never before.

"In the second half we were much better. At high levels you have to play every three or four days and you have to get uses to it. To play in three competitions is not easy when the opponent is playing for one or two, but it is what it is. We go to Middlesbrough in two and a half days and we will prepare mentally to win the game."

More from Stoke City manager Mark Hughes, speaking to Sky Sports: " We didn't rely on luck. We made our own luck and were difficult to break down. We were all disappointed with the result at Spurs and it hurt us as a group. You can see what it meant tonight and that shows the honesty of the group.

Another easy game for Stoke coming up - league leaders Chelsea. At least they have a bit of time to recover from this energy-sapping performance before facing Antonio Conte's side in the Potteries on 18 March (15:00 GMT).

We had a game plan

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Stoke City

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes, speaking to Sky Sports: " We had a good shape about us. Sometimes people go on about systems and formations but it's not about that, it's about seeing through a game plan.

"We could have very easily taken the lead and we restricted them to very few clear opportunities. Not many teams come here and restrict Man City to so few chances."

'It feels amazing'

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Stoke City

Stoke forward Saido Berahino, speaking to Sky Sports:  It's an amazing feeling being back out there. I missed it a lot. I can't remember the last time I started a game. For me to be out there with the boys, getting a point against City feels amazing. I'm back and the boys have made me feel very welcome.

'A great point'

Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross, speaking to Sky Sports: " After the Spurs performance we were really disappointed with how we played so we put that right. We worked on it the last couple of days making sure there were bodies behind the ball. It's a great point for us."

Man City 0-0 Stoke

This feels a significant result in the race for the Premier League title. Manchester City fail to score at home in the league for the first time under Pep Guardiola and stay third. Leaders Chelsea are 10 points clear with 11 games to go.

Leroy Sane gets in front of Phil Bardsley inside the six yard area but can't tuck Kevin De Bruyne's cross home. Incredible.

CLOSE!

What a chance! Kevin De Bruyne whips a lovely ball into the area and Kelechi Iheanacho puts it wide from close range. Many Manchester City have seen enough and are heading for the exits.

Stoke are 60 seconds plus four minutes of additional time away from a memorable point.

Aguero surges into the Stoke penalty area unmarked. Is this the moment? The Argentine pulls the trigger....side-netting.

Jonathan Walters takes one for the team after taking out Kevin De Bruyne in full flight. No arguments as he is shown a yellow card.

Stoke make their third and final change. Off goes Joe Allen for Giannelli Imbula.

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Remember Stoke got slaughtered for that recent warm weather training trip to Dubai? They deserve a sunshine trip for the effort they've put in here. Few gave Mark Hughes' side a chance - they're minutes away from a precious point.

Saido Berahino will not finish the game. He's replaced by Glenn Whelan for the last 10 minutes. Stoke have 11 players behind the ball.

Wave after wave of Manchester City pressure.

David Silva's shot takes a deflection, before Nicolaas Otamendi's header from the resulting corner lands on the roof of the net.

Around 12 minutes left. They will seem like hours for Stoke who have worked themselves silly.

Man City 0-0 Stoke

More Manchester City firepower. Kelechi Iheanacho is on for Yaya Toure for the closing stages. His instructions from Pep Guardiola are simple: "Get us a goal".

Man City 0-0 Stoke

David Silva has made a big difference since coming on. Stoke's defence is being dragged all over the place but still the visitors are hanging on. More movement on the Manchester City bench.

CLOSE!

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Agonisingly close by David Silva. Great vision by Fernandinho to lay it off to Silva who is left unmarked as Joe Allen has not tracked back. Silva drills it with his left foot first time...and it rolls just wide.

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Two quick chances for Manchester City who are starting to get desperate.

Yaya Toure skies the first before Sergio Aguero goes so close to poking home from close range.

Stoke are now on the back foot.

Mame Biram Diouf's shift is over. And what an immense shift it was. The Stoke forward is replaced by Ibrahim Afellay. Boos ring out as Diouf walks off at a snail's pace.

BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

It is the home side who are desperate for a goal but this game is by no means one-way traffic.

The Manchester City fans are still urging their team forward but they are not exactly piling on the pressure and Stoke look dangerous when they win back possession and play long balls over the top.

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Manchester City have scored in all their Premier League home games under Pep Guardiola. Is this the night that changes?

This would be a really good point for Stoke if they can hang on. There's still a long way to go but it would be a good night's work if they can take home the point.

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Stoke have conceded 40 league goals this season - 10 more than Middlesbrough, who are sitting in the relegation zone.

This will be a massive confidence booster if they can hang on.

'Sane skied it'

That was probably one of the best chances Manchester City have had. It was on Sane's right foot around the penalty spot, but the ball was around knee high and he had to really get on top of it to bother Lee Grant. In the end he skies it.

Man City 0-0 Stoke

Great chance for Manchester City but Leroy Sane lashes over from 12 yards when composure was needed. An hour gone. Stoke have been excellent but chances are starting to fall for the hosts.

Naughty by Leroy Sane.

He dives after Phil Bardsley, who has already been booked, pulls out of a challenge at the last second. Sane was trying to con the referee.

Neil Swarbrick is having none of it and books the German.

Surely Pep Guardiola has to call for fresh legs from the bench?

It's a good little flick on from Walters. Berahino runs onto it and Clichy is sleeping, but he just can't get the shot away.
