Real Madrid 1-1 Atletico Madrid

It's all over at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid's draw with Atletico has given Barcelona the chance to go top when they face Malaga later on - although Madrid will still have a game in hand.

That's the end of this live page now. Thanks for joining us today.

Four minutes added on.

An indication of how much that goal has changed Atletico's mindset. Forward Alessio Cerci was just about to come on, but now defender Jose Gimenez replaces Yannick Carrasco.

And Koke has just been booked for timewasting when taking a free-kick.

Sorry about that last comment Real Madrid fans. Atletico score a late equaliser in the derby.

Angel Correa slips the ball through to Antoine Griezmann, who slides the ball past Keylor Navas and right into the corner of the net.

It's really hard to see Atletico coming back into this game. A cross hits the first man.

Another switch now and Gareth Bale, who has had a quiet day, is replaced by Lucas Vazquez on the wing.

Now Atletico make a change - and it's an attacking midfielder on for a striker, when they need a goal. Thomas Partey replaces Fernando Torres, who is jeered off by Real fans.

Real Madrid bring on Isco for Toni Kroos. That's now goalscorer and assister who have come off.

Antoine Griezmann tries a bicycle kick, but it's saved and he was offside. He was also off when he hit the post in the first half.

Karim Benzema crosses but Marcelo, ambitiously, tries a volley as the ball falls for him - it's high and wide.

A few misplaced crosses from either side. Not sure I'd put money on anybody else scoring here.

Real Madrid defender Pepe is injured by his own team-mate as Toni Kroos runs into him. He tries to continue but goes down again. On comes Nacho.

Attacking substitution from Diego Simeone - Saul comes off for pacy Angel Correa.

A big chance for Atletico to equalise as Fernando Torres is slipped in, but Keylor Navas stands his ground to save his effort.

Moments later, Atleti defender Diego Godin fouls Gareth Bale and gets booked. Bale smashes the free-kick into the wall.

Almost a great equaliser from Atletico midfielder Saul, who takes a touch 25 yards from goal and smashes one towards goal - but Real keeper Keylor Navas holds.

As things stand, Real Madrid will be five points clear of Barcelona at the top of La Liga with eight games left to go - including one El Clasico.

Real Madrid are on top now. Gareth Bale (I think that's the first time I've mentioned him) crosses from the right, it's half cleared to Dani Carvajal who fires over the bar.

From that free-kick, Real are ahead in the Madrid derby.

Toni Kroos whips in a ball from deep and Pepe outleaps everyone to head home.

Pepe celebrates

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul is booked for a handball.

A big chance for Real Madrid as Cristiano Ronaldo heads the ball across goal to Karim Benzema and keeper Jan Oblak makes himself big to keep out his close-range effort.

When Cristiano Ronaldo has a free header six yards from goal, you know the end result...

Well usually you do, this time he puts Marcelo's cross wide.

It's go time. Second half is under way.

In today's earlier La Liga game, Espanyol beat Alaves 1-0 with Pablo Piatti scoring the only goal.

We are into the final 12 minutes or so in the afternoon Bundesliga games.

Latest scores:

Cologne 2-2 Borussia Monchengladbach

Schalke 4-0 Wolfsburg

Hamburg 2-1 Hoffenheim

RB Leipzig 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Freiburg 1-0 Mainz

Bayern Munich are playing Borussia Dortmund at 17:30 BST, we will be bringing you live coverage of that game later on.

No stoppage time because not much has happened. Goalless at the break.

First half is just petering out at the Bernabeu.

Big chance for Atletico Madrid. Sergio Ramos passes right to Antoine Griezmann about 60 yards from goal, the France star runs at Pepe and forces a good diving save from Keylor Navas from outside the box.

Pepe did well there to deny Griezmann a straight run.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is the first player booked today as he brings down Fernando Torres in a bit of a tactical foul near the halfway line.

It's been all Real recently but Atletico have a rare attack. Yannick Carrasco's shot is almost deflected into the path of Fernando Torres... but not quite, so Real clear.

An unbelievable goalline clearance by Stefan Savic keeps Real Madrid out. Cristiano Ronaldo gets the ball in the corner of the box and fires past keeper Jan Oblak.

It looks for all the world a goal, Ronaldo is about to celebrate, but somehow Savic had run back towards goal and got his head onto the shot. Hero.

One of the game's best moves as Karim Benzema plucks a high ball from the sky, plays a one-two with Cristiano Ronaldo and forces Jan Oblak into a good save.

Atletico midfielder Saul latches onto a loose ball but shoots high and wide.

Not a lot of clear-cut chances - Koke's cross is beyond Antoine Griezmann and at the other end, Karim Benzema gets his pass wrong in a counter-attack.

Antoine Griezmann hits the post...  but he was offside anyway. So the post-hitting is disallowed. If that's a thing.

Real midfielder Luka Modric lines one up from 20 yards but Stefan Savic heads it out for a corner.

First proper chance of the game as Cristiano Ronaldo - who scored a hat-trick in the reverse fixture at the Vicente Calderon - tries to beat keeper Jan Oblak at his near post from 20 yards out but the Atleti man is able to parry it away.

It's all just a bit scrappy so far. I wonder if it's too early to wonder whether a draw would be a terrible result for Real Madrid or not. They would be three points clear of Barcelona.

It's a bit end to end at the moment and Yannick Carrasco's cross from the right goes past everyone in the centre.

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo pings in a cross from the wing which Gareth Bale tries to get a head onto, but Atletico keeper Jan Oblak catches it before the Welshman can do anything.

First chance of the game goes to Atletico Madrid as Diego Godin's glancing header from Koke's free-kick goes past everyone and out for a goal-kick.
