FULL-TIME

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

This game had the potential to be a nerve-wrecker for Swansea. As it turned out, it couldn't have been more comfortable.

Sunderland end their home campaign with the sound of boos ringing in their ears.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Swansea are seeing the clock down, stroking the ball around with ease.

'Huge credit to Clement'

Ex-Celtic and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Swansea have come into form at the right time and have won three out of four. They were rock bottom when Paul Clement came in so you have to give him huge credit.

I know Fernando Llorente has been heavily linked with Antonio Conte, and Swansea won't want to lose him. He's been outstanding for the past three or four months.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

30 seconds of normal time remaining. This game has only been going one way since the ninth minute.

SUBSTITUTION

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

One final Swansea change. Off goes one of the chief protagonists of Swansea's now likely escape from the drop, Fernando Llorente, to be replaced by Luciano Narsingh.

YELLOW CARD

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Fabio Borini is the next man in the book. You have a bit of sympathy for him. Not over the yellow, that is completely deserved, but for the lack of support he got from team-mates as he tore around trying to win the ball before clattering Kyle Naughton.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Oh dear, that is dreadful.

Sunderland have a corner, which Seb Larsson plays low and straight to a Swansea player on the edge of the box. Darron Gibson then fouls a breaking Swansea player to get a booking.

The home fans are flooding out the doors now.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Sunderland have been better this half. But they have wasted some great chances. This is another. Wahbi Khazri drives into the box and sets up Jermain Defoe but his drive flashes past the post.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

It's all kicking off.

Wahbi Khazri fouls Gylfui Sigurdsson to send him down to the turf and then drives in a boot that almost lands on the Iceland midfielder. Pushing and shoving ensues before the ref steps in and books Khazri. That would have been red had his boot connected.

SUBSTITUTION

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Captain Leon Britton gets huge applause from the away fans as he is replaced by Jack Cork. It was Britton's idea that the players pay for the fans to attend this game. Now that is a proper club man.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Sunderland win another corner. Wahbi Khazri takes this time but Fernando Llorente is in acres of space to head clear. Cue a second change for the away side...

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Sunderland are giving it a bit of a go at least. They win a corner that Seb Larsson swings over... everyone and the goal. Goal-kick.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Oh, how have Sunderland not scored?!

Lukasz Fabianski palms out Wahbi Khazri's free-kick and Billy Jones is the fastest to react. He has the whole goal at his mercy and a floored goalkeeper to beat but puts his shot past the post. He had a defender for company but that is no excuse.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Change for Swansea. Ki Sung-yueng, who picked up a knock a few minutes ago, departs to be replaced by Leroy Fer. Ki gets a small round of applause from the home fans in recognition of his loan spell here a while back, when things weren't quite so grim.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Plenty of Sunderland fans have already left the ground. There were plenty of empty seats at kick-off as well. Can't imagine it has gone unnoticed by the club's hierarchy.

'Sick of hard luck stories'

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

John Hartson

Ex-Celtic and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I just hope David Moyes doesn't come out after the game and say we were unlucky. I'm sick of hearing that one.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Sunderland aren't happy, least of all Seb Larsson. His free-kick cracks into the wall and loops into the hands of Lukasz Fabianski. The home side reckon Gylfi Sigurdsson blocked with his hands and want a penalty. The ref disgrees and, when Larsson refuses to drop his protests, books the midfielder.

Sunderland may well have a case, though. Gylfi jumped and his arms were involved in the block.

Any chance the sense of injustice will spur Sunderland on?

Swans can't drop off

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

John Hartson

Swansea City have just got to see the game out. That is an art in itself. They've got to make sure they don't drop off and invite pressure.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Sunderland try to get something going but Didier Ndong's pass is a touch too heavy for Javier Manquillo, who is beaten to the ball in the box by the sliding Fabianski.

Where's the oomph?

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

John Hartson

Ex-Celtic and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Sunderland cannot play as bad as they did in the first half. It was an inept performance. There was no oomph about them.

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

We have picked up where we left off - a flat affair, with Swansea comfortably in control and Sunderland offering nothing to suggest they are going to make any impact on the game.

KICK-OFF

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Pride alone should propel Sunderland on in this half. I suspect, though, they may also have heard some damning words from their manager.

Swansea just need to see this out to leave themselves in the box seat in the battle against the drop.

We are back under way.

'Woeful at best'

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

John Hartson

Ex-Celtic and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Sunderland have been woeful at best. They look like a team that cannot muster up a chance. Swansea will be absolutely delighted. They were expecting a tough game and they haven't got that.

What does that mean at the bottom?

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Things look really tough for Hull City now.

A reminder of the stakes:

.
.

If Swansea win, Hull will be relegated if they lose at Palace on Sunday.

If Swansea win and Hull draw, Hull would need a minimum six-goal swing on the final day of the season to stay up (this figure increases if Swansea win by more than one goal. Which they currently are).

'Brilliant'

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

John Hartson

Ex-Celtic and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

It's a brilliant strike by Kyle Naughton. Five or six passes leading up to it before Naughton smashes it and says 'pick that out'. The stadium is emptying as I'm talking. Sunderland have not laid a glove on Swansea.

HALF-TIME

Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Loud boos greet the half-time whistle. They are certainly not from the Swansea fans, who dance in the stands. I think Sunderland have managed to claw their way through the bottom of the barrel and are now cracking on with the earth below.

GOAL - Sunderland 0-2 Swansea

Kyle Naughton

What a finish from Kyle Naughton! Not a bad first goal for your club. Ki Sung-yueng's ball finds him on the charge into the box to collect and firing a shot across Jordan Pickford and into the far top corner.

I make that game over. Swansea are going four points clear of the bottom three.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

The game is still going on, I assure you, but there is absolutely nothing happening of any note. Swansea are holding a beaten, heartless Sunderland at arm's length with a just a little finger on the forehead.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

I wouldn't say Swansea are playing particularly well. But they don't have to. They have their goal and at the moment that lead is not being threatened. A second Swans goal finishes this game.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

There is something rotten in the club of Sunderland. Anichebe got a less-than-friendly response to his departure just then. And it appeared as though the same fans were less-than-pleased to see Darron Gibson come on earlier. What a mess.

SUBSTITUTION

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Victor Anichebe is done. He walks off slowly to be replaced by Wahbi Khazri.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Signs of life. Sunderland have a corner, which is nodded down and falls to Jermain Defoe. His close-range prod is palmed behind by Lukasz Fabianski, who claims the resulting second set-piece.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Swansea are edging their possession up towards 70%. David Moyes is up and barking instructions but unless those are 'run around a bit, ineffectually' they're not getting through.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Sunderland finally fashion something. A great cross from Fabio Borini from the right is headed away by the diving Kyle Naughton at the far post, just ahead of Victor Anichebe, who, to be frank, made no effort to get to the ball. The ball is then swung in from the other side and headed well wide by Billy Jones. Still, it's something.

'A poor team, if I'm honest'

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

John Hartson

Ex-Celtic and Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

The stadium is half-full. I've been here before and the atmosphere has been rocking. There's not a feel-good factor. They're watching a poor team, if I'm honest. That's being kind.

Martin Olsson

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Anichebe looks to be OK. After a bit of treatment, he jogs back on. Really is eerily quiet, barring the chants from the Swans fans.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Now Victor Anichebe is down and holding his leg. He may as well have done that from the start for all the contribution he's made so far.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Jermain Defoe has touched the ball now, but after flicking it up on the edge of the Swansea box he is quickly crowded out.

Soon after, a weak clearing header falls to Fabio Borini on the edge of the box but his volley is high, wide and ugly. He has scored two goals this season.

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Martin Olsson almost latches on to a clever ball to the back post but Jordan Pickford is out sharpish to gather. Swansea are well on top.

Martin Olsson

Sunderland 0-1 Swansea

Swansea corner. Gylfi Sigurdsson delivers but Jordan Pickford punches clear and a team-mate volleys away. Straight back to the away side to patiently mount another attack.

I don't think anyone in a red-and-white striped shirt has said a word in the ground for about 15 minutes.
