Thanks for joining us tonight.

We'll be here tomorrow for Germany v Mexico in the other semi-final. See you then.

So who will Chile face in Sunday's final? Either Germany or Mexico.

Can Portugal go home now? Nope. They face the loser of that in a fairly pointless third-fourth play-off.

The fact Chile have gone through makes the penalty controversy in extra time more bearable for them. But it's still something Fifa are going to have to investigate with their video technology trial surely.

Nick Bushundefined: The England U-21 team would've beaten Portugal in penalties tonight.

Chile are the penalty shootout kings, to be fair. They won the 2015 and 2016 Copas America on spot-kicks. Both times after goalless draws. Both times against Argentina.

Wale Ibraheem: Bravo by name, bravo in performance.. What a performance.

Makinde Oluwaseun: Claudio Bravo is a penalty god

Paul Mulligan: Three of the worst penalties you will ever see from Portugal. So bad, even Claudio Bravo could save them.

Claudio Bravo celebrates

Cristiano Ronaldo didn't even take a penalty, he was probably waiting for the Hollywood one at the end...

Cristiano Ronaldo reacts

Chile beat Portugal 3-0 on penaltes

Claudio Bravo hasn't had a great season for Manchester City. But he's Chile's hero. He saved all three penalties in the shootout. You don't see that often.

Claudio Bravo celebrates

Penalties: Saved - Portugal 0-3 Chile

Nani for Portugal

CHILE ARE IN THE FINAL. Claudio Bravo saves a third!

Penalties: Scored - Portugal 0-3 Chile

Alexis Sanchez for Chile

Chile are on the verge of the final now. Sanchez smashes it home, sending the keeper the wrong way

Penalties: Saved - Portugal 0-2 Chile

Joao Moutinho for Portugal

Claudio Bravo saves a second. A terrible, uncertain run-up and again Bravo doesn't need to dive too far to keep it out.

Penalties: Scored - Portugal 0-2 Chile

Charles Aranguiz for Chile

Keeper dives and the Chile player goes centrally. 2-0.

Penalties: Saved - Portugal 0-1 Chile

Ricardo Quaresma for Portugal

Claudio Bravo guesses right and he saves it.

Penalties: Scored - Portugal 0-1 Chile

Arturo Vidal for Chile

Smashes it into the corner as the keeper goes the wrong way.

Arturo Vidal celebrates

Chile are going to take the first penalty. Portugal keeper Rui Patricio wanders towards the goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Claudio Bravo talk to referee

We're probably going to be hearing about that Chile penalty appeal again in the coming days. Especially in any reviews of the video replay system. And doubly especially if Portugal win the penalties.

If the referee goes to the VAR, Chile have a penalty with seven minutes to go - no doubt.

To penalties we go.

Giles Brooks: someone needs to knock on the door of the van to make sure the 2 assistant video referees are still awake!

One minute added on.

Chile make another change, Mauricio Isla is replaced by Jose Fuenzalida. Surely one for the shootout.

Portugal are just hanging on now. Can Chile find a winner? Between those chances and the penalty appeal, they probably deserve it now.

Oh Chile are so, so close to the final. Arturo Vidal's shot from the edge of the box hits the post, it comes back to Martin Rodriguez, who has to react quickly and he hooks it against the crossbar.

Portugal midfielder Andre Gomes rakes the back of Arturo Vidal's legs. He could have been in trouble for that but escapes - and he's immediately replaced by Gelson Martins.

Portugal's Cedric Soares has had a great game but he's exhausted and lazily brings down Alexis Sanchez. He's booked.

Well, well, well. Chile should have a penalty. Francisco Silva, who has just come on, knocks the ball past Jose Fonte, who brings him down without getting a touch of the ball.

The referee could use the video replay - and if he sees that properly, he would surely award a penalty. But he chooses not to. He hasn't used it once. Has he forgotten about it???

Chile do make their second change, Francisco Silva replacing Pablo Hernandez in midfield.

Portugal defender Bruno Alves catches Pablo Hernandez with an arm. He gets booked.

Chile are allowed four substitutes. They've made one. There's 10 minutes left Juan Antonio Pizzi obviously not fancying his alternatives.

Portugal defender Eliseu is caught late on the edge of the box by Mauricio Isla, who doesn't get near the ball. The referee doesn't give him a free-kick, not sure why. Would have been a good opportunity for Cristiano Ronaldo to blaze a shot over too.

There's nothing happening really. We probably should have just gone with my coin toss suggestion.

The old quick extra-time half-time turnaround. We are under way again.

Ethan Carter IV: Claudio Bravo

keeping a clean sheet? Now that's something you don't hear everyday

Paul Collins: Portugal won Euros in ET. Chile won both Copa Americas on penalties. No surprise this is 0-0 still.

Claudio Bravo

Ball is played out right to Charles Aranguiz. If he lets it run, he could be in. But, the ball hits his back. He falls over. Sums up this extra time.

And the half-time whistle goes.

One minute added on. Chile have an attack but don't make the most of it and the ball loops into Rui Patricio's hands.

The ball lands to Andre Gomes in the box and he tries to find El Clasico rival Cristiano Ronaldo but underhits the pass and Chile get it clear.

Nasir: This game can go on till eternity and it will remain 0-0

Portugal started off with three players called Silva in the team. They've all come off now. Adrien is replaced by highly experienced midfielder Joao Moutinho.

They do get a fourth sub if they want though because of new rules.

Arturo Vidal gets his head bravely onto a cross with Jose Fonte's boot close by. Fonte puts him off enough that the header isn't near goal.

We have now had ONE HUNDRED MINUTES without a goal.

Chile keeper Claudio Bravo palms away Ricardo Quaresma's corner.

Corner to Portugal as Ricardo Quaresma's cross is deflected out. It almost finds Jose Fonte, but doesn't. Ball ends up at Cristiano Ronaldo's feet and Arturo Vidal crunches him and slides it out for another corner.
