Through to the last 16...

Motherwell's comeback to beat Edinburgh City sees them secure their place in the last 16 of the Scottish League Cup, alongside Falkirk and Livingston.

Peterhead clinch a memorable late victory against Hearts and claim a major cup scalp in the process.

Thanks for your company, we're back tomorrow night for Celtic's Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg - hope you can join us then. Cheers

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson

Edinburgh City 1-2 Motherwell

"Someone told me that we put 44 crosses into the box; it looked like about 80 at one stage. They made life difficult for us and we had a lot of the ball. The pitch is very slow so it doe slow the game down a bit. We had enough chances to win 10 games tonight. The positives are that the boys kept going and sticking at it, and the fans stuck behind them. They got their just rewards in the end."

Peterhead manager Jim McInally

Peterhead 2-1 Hearts

"I thought we deserved it. Ironically, we scored or got our penalty when we had really tired in the last 10 minutes and hanging on.

"For 70 minutes we were probably the better side and we got a break at the end. I'm so happy for the players because they concentrated for the whole game and passed it well when they needed to."

Peterhead seal 'incredible' victory

Peterhead 2-1 Hearts

There was no doubt that Rory McAllister was going to finish it. It was quite an incredible game, Peterhead started brightly and Jason Brown headed them into a deserved lead. Hearts did come back into the game. McAllister gave Peterhead quite an incredible victory here and it's been a bitterly disappointing night for Hearts. It's a wonderful night for [Peterhead boss] Jim McInally.

Lennon praises 'ruthless' Hibs display

Hibernian 6-1 Arbroath

"Delighted. It was excellent. I don’t think the scoreline flattered us at all. I was disappointed with the goal we conceded, but the second [Hibs] goal [just before half-time] saved them from the paint coming off the wall and then I got what I wanted in the second half.

"We were ruthless and some great goals. We might as well make errors now rather than when the [league] season starts, it’s a lesson for us. But I’m delighted with the way the team is progressing. He [Ryan Porteous] is beyond his years already, he’s the leader of the pack in the development team.

"He’s very comfortable on the ball and reads the game well, he’s got a good attitude and appetite but also maturity. [Simon Murray] is playing well. He’s a nuisance and the hat-trick will do him the world of good. He scored all sorts of different goals tonight."
